Welllll, besides the fact that Microsoft just obtained 8 new IP's, will have better internet, and sets out to "dominate the living room", I only have interest in the Xbox One. Also PS3 or PS4 exclusives don't seem to tempt me as much as the small amount Microsoft actually has.

Because: 1. you don't want to spend the money you'd save on a new graphics card/ram/monitor/PS4/WiiU
2. You like being spied on.
3. You like paying to play online.
4. You trust Microsoft to not fuck you over.
5. You would make use of the features it has.
6. You want to play the exclusive games.

Hmmm Reasons to get an Xbone, let me see...

Oh wait, to buy it as a gift to someone you hate with every fiber of your being, and you won the lottery and have so much extra cash wasting it on this is of no consequence.

There are a few Xbox One exclusives that interest me. There isn't a single PS4 exclusive that I care about. They both look extremely average to me. I plan to ignore them both and check back in a year to see if they are able to offer me something worth caring about.

In my opinion, there is little to no reason to get a One over a PS4 unless you're a HARDCORE MS fan. The PS4 will probably have better games, and it's more powerful, while being cheaper. The One will also flop in the UK, at least at launch, because of the high price tag and the sponsorship with the NFL (I don't think too many people in the UK give a toss about American football). What do you think?
For me, the primary reason to get an Xbox One over a PS4 is that PS4 is basically just PS3 with better graphics, whereas Xbox One actually tries to do new and interesting things. Of course, "hardcore gamers" have decided that everything it is trying to do sucks, but that's their problem, not mine.

That said, I'm most likely getting both consoles.

Lots of good exclusives, good experiences with the 360, TV functionality and Kinect are the key reasons I am getting an Xbox One before a PS4.

Also I am more comfortable with Xbox controllers and I get to keep my gamer score, but those aren't really what I would call deciding factors so much as additional benefits.

And as icing on the cake I think more of the "hardcore" elitist crowd won't get an Xbox on principle so I won't have to deal with them until I pick up my PS4.
Lol, sounds like you decided when you picked your avatar for this forum. You're listing Kinect as a positive thing?

You get the Xbone for the exclusives, or for what all your friends are getting.

You get the PS4 for the exclusives, the price, or for what all your friends are getting.

You get the PC for the exclusives, or for what all your friends are getting.

I'm just amazed that there are still people even considering Xbone.
I mean how many times now have Microsoft actually straight out said "Go f*** yourselves" to every single fan and potential customer by now? Just give it a month or two for everyone to forget about it.
It's strange how people still question why this industry is what it is.

Probably the biggest reason for my distrust of Sony is that innovation to them is a cruel and foreign concept, just increasing the PS3's capabilities, adding some Xbox 360 features and a completely useless share button is NOT innovative.
Lets see, the PS4 has the ability to share footage of your game, allow other players to watch as you play and assist you (neither of which I see alot of use for but still credit where due), you can start playing while an update is downloading and installing (service on demand), eventually they will bring all PS1/2 and 3 games to the console via streaming, oh and most importantly it's a gaming console.

Xbox on the other hand has TV stuff, umm American football (for yanks only ofcourse), and oh right they wanted to bend us over and fuck us with DRM. Yeah that's not innovation, thats screwing your customers over. If you want it for the exclusives then no problem their the games you like, but don't try and justify that your obsessed with microsoft IP's with "but sony doesnt innovate where as microsoft does" crap when it's bullshit. Oh and the family feature was not going to work how people thought it would.

The avatar is a sign of laziness more than fanboy status. I quite like Sony, Nintendo and PC games as well.

Kinect games are fun, my wife and I really enjoy the Dance Central games and the workout games we have tried (Biggest Loser) were invigorating. Also I have a three year old I want to game with (and watch game) so Kinect is perfect for kid friendly games. She just doesn't have the controller skills yet, lol.

Basically the Xbox One is perfect not just for my "hardcore" gaming desires but for my families more casual needs. Everything I desire in the PS4 is available plus Kinect instead of Move? Easy choice.

God, now I do sound like a shill. For what it's worth I am still getting myself a PS4 sometime in 2014 and once my daughter is old enough to game more traditionally she will get a Wii U for her birthday (which I will play as much as her I hope). And I can totally see how other people don't want an Xbox, without my families desires factoring in I would probably get a PS4.

There are no programs for Football (actual football, where you kick a ball with your foot), Rugby, Tennis, Cricket etc. there's just apps for American "Football" (or pussy-rugby as I call it)

Ahm I don't give a shit for halo, or gears of war or, what else? ._. oh I do like "pussy ruby" but I like to watch on my t.v. the Madden things just ewww...so yeah I don't see a reason to get one of those things no matter what, will get a ps4 just not at launch, but will probably next year.

I'm pleasantly surprised at your attitude, it seems more and more people lately either treat the Xbox one as a sin against all gaming or have the attitude of a furious fanboy shilling for it. Someone who likes it and can come up with a rational argument (even if I don't share your view point) is sadly becoming rarer.

Personally I was seriously offended by MS's earlier attitude about the console so I probably won't be buying one anytime soon, but I did have one question. You mention not having to deal with the Elitist crowd on Xbox, (which I can very much sympathize with), but don't you find the XBLA's reputation worse? I only ask because you mentioned it as being a good system for your daughter, but considering the reputation for how girls are treated on the XBLA I can't imagine her being drawn to it much as she grows older.

Dunno, maybe it's gotten a better of late, but I remember it being really, really bad in my time.

Killer Instinct, either that or you don't respect yourself.

The Xbox One has almost no exclusives, most of them are "exclusives" that are also coming to Windows. I already have Windows so I'm getting a PS4.

Well, I am hoping the gamer community in Kinectimals 2.0 or whatever other kid games we get will be a little different from the COD crowd, lol.

When I am playing Halo 4 I often just join team games alone and I honestly don't think the community is that bad. Most people don't have public mikes on in the first place, the ones that do are usually pretty cool. Ass hats exist but it's really easy to mute them, I don't think Xbox Live is any worse than Battlenet or WoW. Your experiences may vary, I don't play too many other competitive multi player games.

As for my daughter being harassed, well that's why she is getting her own Nintendo. And years from now anyone who trolls her during a multiplayer match of Halo 7 or CoD 27 will get shot by her dad (I'm a camper for life).

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I was attempting some mild sarcasm with the "elitist" comment.

To be honest, none of the titles coming out for Xbone interest me, & even if they did, I would get the PC ports. If I was ever to get a living room console, it would have to have a library of stuff that doesn't get a PC release. If everything released for the Wii also comes out on my Nintendo 3DSXL, then my only option is the PS4.

I was strongly considering switch to the PS4 at first after years of having a 360 and loving it, I'll admit. I would have missed Halo, but the restrictions and the tempting offer of Kindom Hearts and FFXV were pretty hefty considerations. Now that both KH3 and FFXV are going multiplatform and the XB1 is not a DRM nightmare, though, I have absolutely NO reason to buy a PS4 and still many reasons to get an XB1.

Plus, the Xbox controller design is INFINITELY better than the Playstaion's.

Hehe, nice, you sound like your going to make a great father for her. Thanks for the answer, if the community isn't that bad then it will probably work out for you.

I wonder how much the receiver device is going to cost. It's rather amusing for them to boast about a feature, then sell it separately from the actual console. Brings back memories of the early 360 and Wifi.
