Anyway, I have to apologise for this rant. The obvious signs of Ninja Theory destroying this once great game series are obvious, especially as I have been reading forums and other websites while trying to find more information on the game, and I do hope they change him back to his original great character that fans loved. I?ve seen many good games get ruined and I don?t want this to be ruined as well, so think twice about buying this game and giving a positive message to this egotistical fool.
You mean the leftover scraps he got from Leon Kennedy's character growth? Dante wasn't original, he wasn't even one of the first injections into the cocky, one liner hero that he was. Not much really stood out about Dante; especially next to his brother. The fandom of Dante comes from his appealing image to girls.

Also it's not like the series hasn't already suffered in Capcoms hands, played DMC2 at all? Either way you're going to have to suck it up and deal with the fact that Ninja Theory are running the show and their have their hands on the 'Canonical Pencil' as it were. They want to colour in areas of Dante's past that haven't been explored yet? Oh heaven forbid they flesh out a character whoes personality is based on an iron head and one liners.

Also there's the fact that you're so very wrong. The story sucks? I never really played DMC for the story until I revisited a couple years back. As long as the gameplay rocks I don't think there's going to be much of an issue with sales. Not to mention the inevitable 'fans' who boycott the game and then buy it anyway.

So I was trying to read the OP, but I was listening to this and all I heard was "Nyan".

The first game had more of a Resident Evil feel to it, if you ask me.

It wouldn't be a bad game to follow gunplay-wise, come to think of it. I kinda liked the fact that DMC2's guns not only keep enemies in the air, but can knock them up there by themselves with enough bullets.
Yeah DMC 2 introduced a lot of good gameplay features it was just kinda boring. All the enemies were the same and I never really thought gunplay should be as big a focus in a DMC game as it was in 2.
