I actually have some respect for Rebecca Black. I mean, she's got millions of people saying how much they hate her music and yet she still follows her dream. Her music still sucks but fair play to her.

Ew... Both Rebecca Black songs are better than that...

I have to say that Black's new song is not as bad as Friday, but saying that doesn't mean that any are good at all. They're both horrible and generic, Friday is just worse--as it enters the brain and starts killing brain cells and replaces them with lyrics of the song.

It's not bad. People might parody the holy hell out of it, but the funny thing is, that is what got her on the map.

She must love the camera though, she can't stare more than 10 seconds into it and sing, as one YouTube comment stated.

Overall, it is not a bad song...music video was ok.

I don't get what's so wrong about it?

Sure, it's not a great song and she's not a great artist. We already knew that.

But she's a 13 year old and she's actually a professional artist. How many 13 year old can say that they're professional artists, even if bad ones?

Let's put that into a video game comparison:

She's a 13 year old making video games. It's a cover-based third person shooter featuring a male Caucasian space marine. Every time you kill an enemy you have to go through a long quick time event or you die. Your space marine can only carry a single weapon at a time. As soon as you duck behind cover you become invulnerable and totally healed. To spice things up there are random additional quick time events that can kill you. You gain an achievement for every single button you press.

Now if you're a sane person there's only one sentence in the above that you paid real attention to: "She's a 13 year old making video games".

She's 13! It doesn't matter if it's good! It's not supposed to be good! Nothing you do at 13 can possibly be 'good' when compared to professional adults! It's not about being good, it's about just doing it!

When I was 13 I spend my time playing video games, watching TV, doing some sports and occasionally paying attention at school. I think I drooled a bit at times. I may or may not have collected pokémon cards.

She's fucking impressive in my book. She's 13 and she's a professional artist. She's 13 and has been on various huge TV shows. What did you do at 13?

Meh her new song is am improvement if only because its not longer saturated in autotune but it basically sounds like another forgetable pop song that'll get remixed and be played in clubs everywhere.

To help your ears recover listen to this if you feel like it:
Thanks for starting the recovery effort, I'll help.

I can't wait to hear this song! As soon as I get a hold of a computer with speakers, I'm gonna listen to it right away. I hope it's as terrible and catchy as the last one!
It's catchy, but not terrible. If people want to hate, though, why don't they go hate on Jenna Rose? That girl is an egotistical jerk. Watch her interviews.

Rebecca Black is just a nice girl who got caught up in a bad internet meme. I hope she gets some press and makes some money off the internet haters. They made her, now they can watch her become a star.

Honestly? This response is the response we should all be having. I don't understand why we hate her so much.

Have you ever heard of Brokencyde? They'd be considered an abortion if Design the Skyline was considered the norm. It's THAT bad.

OT: Please...make this shit just stop...Music should just go back to being a means of artistic talent, and not just something the average teenager does for fun/millions of dollars.

Awh, it's just generic. I wanted something horrible like Friday, I loved Friday. Oh well, they can't all be winners I guess.

Also, I still find it funny how much hate she still gets. Like, legitimate hate, as if she'd killed their dog or something. People need to chill.

Dunno if you've heard, but music can be both.
Crazy, I know.

This whole thing reminds me of when Charlie Brooker actually stepped up to defend her, not because he liked it, he hated it, describing it as the first song with less than one note, but accurately making a distinction between 'You can't sing and you have no musical talent, please stop' and 'I hope you die you fat ugly whore'.
This man speaks sense.

Clearly the same people who wrote Friday wrote these lyrics.

I love how auto-tune was her biggest complaint and the video starts with her being auto-tuned.

Also, important question: Why does she look like an overly glamored Winny Cooper from the Wonder Years?

Not as bad as Friday, but still pretty bad.
I'll probably forget it pretty soon.

That was the worst "song" I've ever heard. I thought Friday was bad... It was like being ear-raped by a rhinoceros. Not like I'm a huge screamo fan, but I'm pretty sure they're doing it wrong.

ok world, wth?! seriously, how is she famous and considered an artist when there are dozens of super talented people out there that don't use autotune but they get way less publicity?

Ohoo, we think the same, my friend! That's exactly what I did right after listening to this... Abomination.
Always good to learn of another person who knows that great band! After all, I can't think of single reason why anyone who would consider themselves to have diverse tastes in music would not know of them, aside from their relative obscurity compared to something like, say, Rebecca Black.

And I think you're being way too dramatic about the whole thing. It's a pretty far stretch to call it torture considering you can just not click on the link. The haters are the ones that made this song so damn popular. If they just ignored it I doubt we would have even heard of it.

I don't even know why you and so many other people are being so melodramatic and ridiculous about it all. It hardly matters.
social torture is playful quips which expose people to something which they dislike then laughing at their reactions. Things like 'rick rolling' people on the internet, humming a tune which gets stuck in peoples heads for the rest of the day, or intentionally doing a yawning gesture which in turn causes them to yawn.

Snipping Time
Gonna thank Pyro Paul for preventing me from double posting, but I just had to respond to this...
So I listened to that song, or about half of it, and the only thing I could think the entire time was "How can they still sound so badly through all of that autotune?"
