Rebel Alliance or Empire?

Which do you prefer?
I really hate the Rebels (REBEL SCUM!!), and always root for the Empire in the games/films.

The Rebels have no cool stuff, and they just overall suck, except for a few characters.

I always liked the 'rough'n'ready' aesthetic of rebel ships such as the Y-wing, but helping to crush a puny rebellion as an Imperial is much more satisfying overall.

Until the prequel trilogy, it was never made clear why there even was a rebellion. The empire didn't seem overtly evil in anything other than the destruction of Alderaan (and yeah, the fact that Palpatine popped up and said 'I'm evil!').
I want to see a selection of empire policies that made rebelling a necessity. I want proof that the people of the empire were sufficiently subjugated that removing the emperor was in their best interests. How do we know that the rebels weren't just entitled douchebags looking to replace the current fascist state with a pseudo-republic of their own control?

The Empire. They have more and better equipment, better training, and a goal of unifying the galaxy under a single government. Really, the rebels only won due to plot power. Besides, protecting the status qua isn't going to happen on its own. Plus, they have Darth Vader. Instant win.

The empire, I like their uniforms what can I say. I always liked something like a full body armor it just looks badass to me.

Neither. I always take a neutral ground when it comes to wars and just help wichever one is more benefical to me then backstab them when they outrun their usefullness and defect to the other side.

The Empire has cooler stuff, but there's that whole "being controlled by two evil Sith" thing...

The Rebels are all about freedom, but honestly, if Luke wasn't a Jedi, they would've gotten crushed by the end of Episode IV...

Can I be a Rebel with the Empire's resources?

For the record, I choose Thrawn Era empire.

Grand Admiral Thrawn ran the empire better than the Emperor did. Absolute great tactician, I find the Ysalamir shield gambit at Wayland pretty impressive. I still feel sorry him though. If only he hadn't pissed off Mara.

well i'm not fond of the rebels, but the empire are just too overtly, cartoonishly evil (usually) for my to go for them... not that i have a problem with cartoonish evil, it's just generally unnecessary to their agenda...

so i say neither... go for the mandalorians instead
