The way the Engineer laughed chilled Edgar, it was an innocent one by any standard.

"Not really, your messenger was fairly tight lipped about it, care to elaborate?"

Andrew winced and blinked for a second as light hit his eyes for the first time in what had seemed like an hour or two. With his eyes adjusting quickly he looked around at the guy who was talking, the other "new guys", a few agent looking fellows, and the edge of the helipad... oh god... the edge.

Andrew tried to look away and instead looked up at the Engineer. Andrew shifted about and suddenly winced again at a pain near his abdomen that he had acquired mid flight from 'not keeping his big mouth shut'. Still, even with that reminder he could barely help himself from speaking out.

"Questions? Umm sure, let me get my list. So, are we really flying right now?" His tone of voice seeming to indicate that he hoped the answer was no. "Also, how long would you say this 'foreseeable future' is? And lastly, could you point me in the direction of the little boy's room? It's kind of been a long fight." Andrew's rapid fire questions and slightly sarcastic tone left some questions themselves about which of the questions were serious.

"All will be revealed later..." Engineer told Logi, the he chuckled at The Jack. "Well, The Jack, right now, we aren't so much flying as we are suspended in mid-air. I honestly don't know how it works, The Dungeon Master built it. My guess is that it involves some kind of ma-." Engineer stopped. "I just don't know. We will fly later however. The foreseeable future... Probably until you die. Even when you get old and can't go on field missions you'll serve some kind of support-role on the base. This is very much a permenant thing. As for your last question..." He threw a bottle at The Jack's head, hitting him inbetween the eyes. "Yes! Bet won! I knew someone would ask that! Ummmm... Of the side or in the bottle for the moment..." He did a little fist-pump and touched something in his ear. "Hey Medicus, you owe me! I won the bet!"

Shaking her hair loose and blinking in the light, Alexis listened to the others as she attempted to take in what she saw. Engineer made her feel uneasy, partly due to his demeanor, but mostly due to his admission that he hadn't a clue how this place worked. Not really what she would expect from a man calling himself 'Engineer'. Then again, it wasn't as if she wasn't feeling completely out of her depth herself. She felt a shiver run through her body, and wasn't entirely sure whether it was from the chill breeze that blew across the helipad, or something else. Casting an eye over her companions from the helicopter, she noted with a little disappointment that she was the only female in the group. While this normally wouldn't have bothered her, this whole scenario was so unnatural to her she would have liked someone she could have felt a little more in touch with, a little less isolated. Still, she took solace in that none of the others knew anymore than she did. She hoped anyway.

Shaking her head, she focused her mind back on the conversation at hand. She could deal with the rest later, perhaps when she felt a little less lost. With this in mind, she decided a start might be getting her equipment back. She addressed Engineer
"Just a quick question this end, when are we likely to be getting our stuff back?"

"Your gear will likely be given to you when you go on your first mission, seen as you'll need it of course, after that you can keep it on you. Oh, maybe I should explain my role..." Engineer pointed at what looked like a helicopter, only with two extra sets of blades coming from the side. It also seemed to have multiple weapons below the cockpit. "I will provide you with air-support, should you need it. I made that girl myself... Speaking of girls... Keeper should be here soon..."

Andrew was taken totally off guard as the small bottle smacked him in the forehead and dropped to the ground with a dull thud. He rubbed the impact as he looked down at the container. "Off the side? No thanks." He muttered as he thought back again to the view that made his vision spin even when he was a fair distance away.

Still, even as he seemed a goof, Andrew's mind was running a mile a minute and he took in everything that was being said.

Something that begins with Ma-... what could it be? Magnets? Magnesium? Matterhorn goats? Yet the guy naming himself Engineer said he didn't understand. Magic perhaps? It was an obvious answer but perhaps still the wrong one. Besides, was magic even real? Andrew had never considered himself a skeptic, and he'd seen a few weird things in his time. Still, there just wasn't enough evidence to jump right to such a conclusion.

For the moment though Andrew was much more concerned about the estimation of a permanent residency. He didn't know about the others gathered here, but he still did not know exactly why he had been brought; though words like 'prove your allegiance to the Hunters of Legend and The Dungeon Master' did not sit right with him. Andrew did not want to be on this questionably floating thing forever doing field missions, supporting roles, or anything else. What about his family? His business? His life?

Well, regardless, Andrew was more sure then ever that this group was definitely involved in the disappearance of Yuri Kusabana, and he somehow suspected that just telling them that he had caught the wrong bus and would like to get off now would (pardon the pun) not fly. Andrew sighed as he thought. Well, he would probably figure something out, he always had in the past.

Andrew sighed as he picked up the bottle that still sat at his feet. "Well, I suppose you save a lot on pensions." he muttered quietly as the only indication of his thoughts.

Keith looked at the Engineer. Where do I recognize that get up from. Oh wait I remember, "Are you really cosplaying right now? REALLY? I hope beyond all hopes that you are more professional then that get up would lead me to believe. Also, Why the hell would we need air support for. I am quite frankly sick of your pretending to be mysterious about this. This isn't a game, this is a job and I would have expected you to treat it as such." Keith said in the most snide way possible. Even with his frustration Keith was still quite fascinated with this aircraft he was standing on and he was curious about who the people around him would be. Not that it would matter. They are probably inept imbeciles anyway.

Sorry for taking so long. I had an extreme amount of work to get through.

"Yes, yes I am! You got a problem with that, punk? Oh and you will need air-support. Trust me on that, you will die otherwise." A Japanese woman in her mid-twenties walked up next to Engineer. "Speaking of dickheads..." He muttered to himself, and thus got a swift backhand from the woman. "I am The Keeper of Knowledge, my role is obvious. Refer to me as 'Keeper' for short if you so wish." She held herself high, looking down at the recruits as if she were analyzing them. "Now, follow me..."

She led the recruits inside the Airbase, leaving Engineer behind. It was kept in very good condition and was very white. She led the recruits into a room with a large circular table in the middle. "This is the briefing room, were you are briefed on all your missions, of course. Quickly now, sit down." The recruits sat down at the table. "I understand that none of you were briefed on what we do here, I am under orders not to tell you what we do. Our leader wants you to see for yourselves, otherwise you wouldn't believe us. However, I am authorized to give you anything you need specialized for what you will be doing in your mission so..." She pulled a briefcase out from under the table and span it around to show the recruits the contents. Inside was several magazines of silver bullets and a grenade for each of the group. "As you can see, silver bullets. The grenades release garlic spray." She tapped her feet repeatedly. "No, I am not shitting you, garlic grenades. Any more questions?"

Reece had listened intently up until now, having been too pre-occupied with the experience of blind travel and digesting all of the Engineer's jocular instructions to care about much else. He blinked his eyes a few more times to rid the sparks of light dashing across his eyes, and rubbed them just to be sure. The Engineer seemed like a warm man, and the cosplay certainly added points to his good books. However, now he was out of the Engineer's hands and into the prompt and no-nonsense Keeper. He gulped, raised a tentative hand, and smiled. "Silver bullets and garlic grenades. We're hunting a Vampire, right?"

"Silver bullets? For vampires? Dear god man no! Silver bullets are just the same as normal bullets against Vampires, which is pretty much nothing. Garlic is for the Vampires the silver bullets are for..." She face-palmed. "I just confirmed part of what you're fighting didn't I?" She walked up to the wall and bashed her head against it. "This didn't happen or else!"

He grinned and chuckled casually. "Nothin' wrong with telling us. You want us to survive and bolster the ranks, so you give us stuff we need. I guess that means a Werewolf is what we'll be tackling alongside it, then. I could write this stuff better than you guys hide it."
Reece reached over and cautiously plucked one of the magazines from the briefcase. He studied the bullets, ending his analysis with a basic, "Shiny. I have another question - if we didn't come with anything, do we get stuff to work with?"

"Yes, we have a large selection of weaponry..." She walked up to another wall and pressed a random part of the wall, which apparently caused it to open up and reveal a large stock of weapons ranging from Pistols to Grenade Launchers. There was even a Rocket Launcher. "Take your pick, they can all adapt to fire pretty much any conventional bullet. They're built by our creator, leader and owner, The Dungeon Master." She then muttered quietly to herself. "Who is every bit as nerdy as he sounds..."

Reece jumped to his feet, wandered over to the wall and surveyed the arsenal. Like a child in a candy store, he span round and gave the Keeper an awkward thumbs up. "You, er, carry on. I'll have a gander."
With that, he turned around and shut his ears off to the conversation, focussing on the various matte black metals and gunslinger-worthy weapons available to him. His fingers tingled with uncertainty, having never held a firearm in his life.

"That is a really, really stupid joke Mrs. Keeper. VAMPIRES? REALLY? You know what I will not play along with this childish game here. I wish you people actually cared about your jobs enough not to tell us that we are fighting VAMPIRES. You are almost as bad as Mr.Team Fortress 2 back there. So please, just show me the chemicals I will be able to work with." Keith said almost as snidely as earlier, but twice as frustrated. MAN YOU PEOPLE ARE INEPT. YOU CAN'T EVEN SEPERATE YOUR HOBBIES WITH YOUR WORK.

'...almost as bad as Mr Team Fortress 2 back there' This obviously struck a nerve in Keeper, because in less then a second Keith was off his chair, his head pushed into the wall by her. "Don't you ever compare me to him!!!" She pulled her arm away. "With an attitude such as yours you shall make no friends fast. Also, for your statement you won't get any special equipment! You'll learn to respect me... Or else!" She stared into his eyes with a terrifying look. "Do you understand?"

Keith did not know how to respond. He had never been physically attacked like that before do to his very sheltered life. Much of his higher intelligence kind of faded away in the moment so he had a hard time maintaining rational thought. Stick to my guns and get my rear end kicked or wuss out and keep my rear in prestine condition? What do I do? what do I do?.....um.....THINK.....FOCUS..... I have never apologized before and I am not starting now. But I should be tactful as to keep my rear un-kicked...um... "F*** YOU @$$WHOLE!" Then all of his intelligence flooded back. Well im going to die.

"Wrong answer..." She grabbed Keith by the collar and dragged him to the window, shoving his head outside. "Look down 'Vial' do you see that? Yeah, that's right! We're suspended in mid-air with god knows what holding us up! Did you also know that if I dropped you from this height, when you hit the ground you will be nothing more then some bloody paste? Do you want to be bloody paste? No? Then sit down and shut the fuck up!" She pulled his head back in, dragged him to his seat and shoved him into it. "You are too dumb to live, insulting the person who is supplying you with gear!" She walked up to the guns and grabbed a pistol and a few magizines of normal bullets. "You get nothing more then this!" She put them on the table and pushed them over to him.

Keith held back any sort of apology because she didn't deserve it. Then he decided that not doing so would be a bad tactical decision and thus apologizing would be the more intelligent thing to do. "Imaa...ah..I AM NOT DUMB. I am not used to being man handled. I wasn't thinking strait and I was really frustrated by that "Engineer" moron. I shouldn't have taken it out on you.....s...s..S...Sorry." Okay I did it. The hard part is over. Let's just hope she accepts it. Note to self: DO NOT F*** WITH THE KEEPER.

Andrew was closemouthed and tense as 'The Keeper' and the yet unidentified complainer had their little tousle. Andrew was rather shocked at the level the argument got to and wondered for more then a moment if she really wouldn't hesitate to throw someone out.

Still, Andrew kept a close eye on this 'Keeper' though even as things began to settle. There was little doubt in his mind that she was Yuri Kusabana. The only pictures he had been able to find during his investigation hadn't exactly been recent, but they had been new enough that Andrew was quite sure that this was her. The plot thickens? He thought to himself.

Taking care that his movements were relaxed Andrew got up from his chair and stepped over to the wall of weapons. The wall was another thing entirely, something the likes of which Andrew had never seen; the closest being the personal stash of a small time dictator he had once been in the manor of, but that had been nothing in comparison. Yet for all that the wall only half held his interest in comparison to other things.

He carefully took a revolver off the wall and began to check it with a workman like method, testing the crane's action and looking down the sights, but it was really just something to do with his hands.

His real objective had been to bring himself close to 'The Keeper' as he decided to test his suspicion.

When Andrew spoke again he did so in Japanese rather then English. His speech wasn't perfect, and his accent shown through strongly; but it was quite competent and respectful in tone.

"[So just how much more aren't we supposed to know Ms. Kusabana?]"

While Andrew hardly tried to hide the statement, he did speak a bit quieter then he had previously and kept his attitude relaxed as he continued to inspect the gun in his hands.

Soul watched silently as the actions unfolded, but he did nothing more then that. He watched as the others looked over the new gear, which consisted of silver bullets and garlic. He picked out a few things, they were fighting Vampires, which didn't surprise Soul at all. His sword had been taken from him upon boarding, but he didn't feel like it had completely left him, especially not the things he had down with that blade.
