Woah boy lets not go crazy here, we're talking about Bands that actually SING right?
YES! I have been waiting to see another user say that!
FYI Both of System of a Down's vocalists sing
I'm not implying that they don't sing. I'm implying that they can't sing. And I couldn't help but chuckle a little when you typed "FYI." I don't know why. Hey, that rhymed!

I'd say Disturbed, also Rammenstein (sp?) is good for a change.
EDIT: System of a Down is amazing too.

I don't know if you wanted just metal bands but these are some "Rock" bands that I like.

MUSE
Rush
Rage against the machine
Radiohead

Obviously I listen to more bands but the list would be too long.

And if you wanted anything more like metal then I can't help you...

If they can't sing, then why are they a multi million selling, mainstream band?

Dispatch...they've got a really different feel to them. And all of their break-off's are really good, especially State Radio.

You know who else makes that kind of money? Miley Cryus. Wow, she must be a great musician!

/sarcasm

You do know that you're not going to make me change my opinion about their singing, especially with such a weak argument, right? I don't care how much money they make. I think that every aspect of that band is actually really good. Except the singing, of course. Some people call it innovative; I call it shit.

Am I insulting you for liking them? No. I understand that people like the band's style, and I can respect that. I hate the way they sing, but hey, that's just me. I just don't like them. If you like them, cool, whatever. Just don't get all up in arms because I think their singers aren't good.

If your looking for something truly different, try the Eagles of Death Metal (who are not what their name implies) and the Desert Sessions, specifically volumes 5&6 and 7&8

I suggest Alice In Chains and System of a Down. Both have unique sounds and i think that System's lyrics have a sort of depth to them. Their lyrics could be complete nonsense to one person but can have great meaning to another.

As for the more heavier stuff, I saw August Burns Red and Blessthefall were mentioned.

Other bands that I like; Say Anything, A Day To Remember, Alexisonfire, Fear Before the March of Flames, From Autumn To Ashes, The Dear Hunter, On The Last Day.

Wow. You just made me "lol", and I'm having an absolutely terrible day. I don't know whether to thank you or shake my head in disbelief.

Hmm...well all the prog-rock thats been mentioned is excellent...but currently i'm on a classical music kick, piano in particular, so i'd recommend Chopin at the very least... Beethoven and Mozart in moderation as well...

Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Equilibrium.

Join the Folk-Metalers!
Love Equilibrium, You heard their new album?

Listen to The Absence. Melodic death metal at its best.
I haven't heard it yet, I was hoping to get it for christmas but I... didn't. Any good? Lots of people have said it's completely different which is a bit like "oh great". By that I mean I'm not looking forward to a different sound.
As far as can tell their sound is still the same. It's definitely a decent album.

I'm became unfamiliar with American & English music in 1998, so unless you're open to Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Romanian, German, Jamaican (you can't understand a words they say), or Sweedish, I can't suggest a thing.
