I've completed quite a bit of JRPGs, and still have many many titles in my backlog. Sometimes it is a challenge to find good ones that I don't own and/or have completed. So I'm giving the challenge to find ones I haven't.

My platforms I own at the moment include-
360
PS3
Wii
Gamecube
PS2
SNES
PSP
DS
Saturn
Dreamcast

Resonance of fate? Not really obscure, but it was released in the same week as FF13 so it didn't get much hype,

I'm enjoying it myself, it's a bit different from other JRPG's with the level up system, wiki it to find out more stuff/ruin the plot :L
I got this a month or two after FF13. I deliberated getting it at first, but glad I did. Really challenging and I loved it. Spent about 72 hours to get to the end and have considered going for full completion.

Suikoden. Better yet, Suikoden II. Both are PlayStation games, but II cannot be bought now unless you are willing to spend a small fortune. I am lucky enough to own a copy, and it's still one of my favorite games. When the PSN comes back online, you can download Suikoden and see if you like it.

I am fortunate to own both Suikoden and Suikoden 2. Glad as I see that S2 can go for upwards of 150 dollars. Loved those games as well as 3 and 5. I have 4, Tactics, and Tierkreis which I heard aren't as good as the others but I still need to play through them.

Lost Odyssey
Shin Megami Tensei series(Especially Nocturne and Persona)
Fire Emblem
Loved Lost Odyssey. I think its in the number 1 or 2 slot of my favorite 360 RPGs.

When it comes to SMT I have every American released title. Although I have only finished Persona 2,3,4, and DDS 1 and 2. I still need to play Strange Journey, Persona 1 (got the psp remake), Devil Summoner 1 and 2. I also own Devil Survivor which I got sort of sidetracked from. I'm considering waiting on Overclocked before I give it another go. Nocturne I need to finish and that one is probably one of the most difficult JRPGs I have played. I am also praying to the gaming gods that the Innocent Sin psp remake of Persona 2 will make it to the states.

Fire Emblem I finished Fire Emblem on GBA and Sacred Stones. I also finished Path of Radiance. I got a few more in the back log that I need to get around to - Shadow Dragon and Radiant Dawn.

Ever try the original Grandia? It's for the PS1, and will occasionally crash if played on a PS2, but if you can live with this, you're in for a treat you'll never forget!

Intro's a bit long. You might want to skip to 0:30.

Demon's Souls
I have quite a few Atlus published games, I love them. I finished Demon's Souls, Disgaea 1, and 2, (still need to get around to 3 though). I will check out Izuna.

Magna Carta 2. While not technically a jrpg (it's Korean) it has the same pacing. Good story and fun to play. The combat is great.

Absolutely adore Grandia. A lot of people say Grandia 2 is better. Both games are great but I'm in the minority of enjoying the original Grandia the most. It probably makes my top 5 list of greatest games of all time. I got the original PS1 copy but I might replay the PSN version if I do it again to avoid crashing like you said.

I am currently playing Breath of Fire 4 for PS1. I'm early into the game so don't want to recommend it too strongly, but the sprite art is absolutely beautiful.

When it comes to JRPGs, if you're into them it's hard to tell what you'd consider obscure. Obviously the Persona games are great, and I want to play more SMT games. Again, I don't think anyone would call it obscure but Skies of Arcadia (DC or Gamecube) was very enjoyable.

Also, it doesn't really seem like a straight JRPG, but Vagrant Story was really good fun. Taxing, but fun.
