I've heard nothing but praise for this game, and I do own it. I have one problem though. I'm left handed. It is very awkward to play for south paws I've noticed. I know it allows you to use the ABYX buttons at a control pad, but after 20+ years of using a dpad with my left hand it feels extremely awkward. I might just try to play it the normal way and see if I can survive with using the stylus in my right hand. The movements seem simple enough so maybe it will be playable.La Barata said:The World Ends With You. Play it. NOW.
I did play that game and never beat it. Was actually wanting to track it down so I can play it again. I also own the PS2 sequel. I should give it another go.RichardThompson said:The original Legend Of Legaia on the PS1?
Love Shadow Hearts. I finished all 3 of the PS2 titles which lead me to also track down and buy Koudelka which I haven't gotten around to yet.Gladion said:I'm more than just disappointed nobody has mentioned Shadow Hearts 1 & 2 yet. Well, now I did.
Then there is the SaGa games, the least mainstream and most obscure stuff for Square Enix to put out.
We also have Panzer Dragoon Saga and, stretching the definition of RPG a little, Nier.
I have both Baten Kaitos games. I loved the first one and clocked in about 60 hours on it. As for Origins I picked it up for 10 bucks fairly recently but haven't played it yet. I do love the card battle system.Jazoni89 said:Baten Kaitos: Eternal wings and the lost ocean
One of my favourite RPG's.
Its rather obscure, and it's a shame that it is, because hardly anyone has played this brilliant game.
So find, and play it, you won't regret it.
(Even though I've only played the third one, the wild Arms series is worth looking at)
I'm glad I could point out at least one game series you haven't played yet. You might wanna try Unlimited SaGa on Playstation 2, the price is really decent, especially if you consider the 300+ hrs worth of gameplay. But be warned, as I said it's extremely unconventional (most actions, including walking, are taken by menu-clicking, for example). The series basically served Square Enix as a testing-platform for weird game mechanics. They would see what kind of gameplay mechanics people would like and which they'd hate, and afterwards use the popular ones for upcoming big budget games.Ando85 said:Love Shadow Hearts. I never played a SaGa game, I might start out with the Saga Frontier on ps1 if I can track it down for a decent price.
Panzer Dragoon Saga and Dragon Force are the only 2 saturn games I own. I want to get Shining Force 3 and Alberts Odyssey.
Despite it's mediocre reviews I really enjoyed Nier.
Aye, I was going to start off with 3 which I do own. The problem is I think my disc might be screwed up. I recall trying to play it but the screen would just go black at certain points. I might have to pick up another copy.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:snip
I never knew this about the SaGa series. Back in the olden days I actually trusted reviews, so the negative reception that SaGa got had me steer clear. But, now I'm a bit more enlightened when it comes to JRPGs and don't really trust the reviews anymore so I should definately check it out. I'll start off with Unlimited SaGa then, and consider the PS1 games later.Gladion said:I'm glad I could point out at least one game series you haven't played yet. I actually recently played Xenogears as well a few years ago. Hell, I'd probably enjoy a 3rd playthru and not get tired of it. Xenogears is one of those games that if you got me talking about it you would be here all day.Dajosch said:Recently replayed one of the few JRPGs that I really enjoy: Xenogears [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenogears]....
Artsy, has a unique combat system, great music and is still one of the games with the most awesome and creative storylines that I can remember. Highly recommended. If you are from the US you can get it from the PS store when its online again....
