sorry to make another one of these, but the last one resulted in me watching all 10 season of Stargate sg1 which was AMAZING!!! soooooooooo I liked battle star galactica, prison break, firefly, dexter, Spartacus and scrubs. I tend to prefer shows with a progressive story in each episode but then again sg1 was great as was firely so I should just keep that quiet. Not a fan of purely comedic shows (still like comedy) or anime. Thank you for any help y'all can give :D

LOL dont make the mistake I did and confuse Jericho with Jerimiah. that was a big mistake and a huge waste of time.

EDIT: as for recommendations, the first season of The walking dead is fairly solid
although it got cut entirely too short,

I enjoyed Happytown. Its on Hulu and only 8 episodes, but they did a good job with it and ended it as well as they possibly could have considering cancellation.

Same was true of dollhouse. However the first half season was kinda poorly paced, but after that its fairly solid.

And for an odd one, I would say.. Boardwalk empire. After watching it, it made me long for GTA5 to be set in the 20s and revisit the whole chicago mobland scene.

FireFly.

Dexter.

House MD (though season 1-5 would be best).

Heroes season 1.

The Walking Dead.

Hustle.

Life.

Ninja'd by the OP; I was going to suggest Stargate SG-1, which I started watching last week, but it's the one you just got finished with.

OT: Seeing as you like Sci-fi with a strong continuity, might I suggest the Mobile Suit Gundam series that are set in the UC universe? Those shows are great scifi first, and anime second, which might be a plus if you don't usually like anime. Most of them are old enough that the modern cliches hadn't really set in yet, so they're just a case of a story being told through the medium that best allowed it on a realistic budget.

Edit: Also, Crunchyroll had the first two series up for streaming last I checked, so you don't have to lay out the cash for the DVDs without knowing whether or not you're going to like the show.

Arrested Development. It's a comedy but I recommend not judging how funny it is until you watch a whole story arc. The funniest jokes are the long running ones.

This post does not exaggerate how great Breaking Bad is. You must see it. As for The Walking Dead, great first two episodes then it kind of lingered away.

Agree on Walking Dead, but I think they're gonna come out swinging on season two (fingers crossed).

Yep, gonna agree with Chuck on this one. It fits all your points of interest, as you have presented to us. Continuous story from the beginning. Mostly action/sci-fi drama with splashes of comedy here and there. There's 3 seasons complete now and it's ongoing right now, so you can continue to follow it on TV (if they air it in your country... dang Japan choosing to import all the crappiest American shows). And it's pretty much custom-made to appeal to the average late-teen or 20-something nerd crowd. Pretty ridiculously, in fact, but the rest is enjoyable enough to forgive it that flaw.
