Laphroaig. Mmm, smoked.
Good choice. This or Glenlivet. I feel bad for not recommending any Irish ones...
Don't feel bad. It's not your fault that best ones come from elsewhere.

OT: It's snowing pretty heavily here near London. A whiskey would be perfect now. I wonder if that is acceptable in the office.

Laphroaig, Lagavulin (For mentalists), Highland Park, Jura, and Macallan are all very good malts.

The first two are a bit extreme in flavour, so you might want to start with one of the latter ones if you're a starting whisky drinker.

I quickly found Jameson to be the whisky of my choice. However Laphoraig has that unique smoky flavor. Unfortunaly it's extremely expensive here in Norway

On a budget I tend to choose ballentines, it's cheap and drinkable.

I have a bottle of crown royal that I've been enjoying, though I seem to have gone off it of late, I probably won't buy it again. Glenlivet is generally a winner, glenmorangie is also one people tend to like.

Bells or JD are good. And Scotch is still whiskey, by the way...

On a similar note, who else here loves coffee with a double shot of Baileys stirred in?

Macallan 15 year old, beautiful, also another scotch whisky called Monkey Shoulder (contains Glenfiddich and two other single malts), odd name but also very good

I would recommend Highland Park, but seeing as someone already has... try Talisker. It's from the Isle of Skye and is very nice. Particulary the 18yr Old.

Oban. I've only had it a couple times, but it's an awesome single malt scotch. Cheap, it ain't, though; it's about $120 Cdn a bottle, so it's been a 'special occasions' sort of Scothc

Jack Daniels.
Good man.

Don't drink myself, but as a Southerner, I gotta love the Jack nonetheless.
Also, did you know that where they make Jack Daniels is a dry county?
