It's a good mystery, horrorish and comedy manga. <.<
I love it. I wouldn't say it's obscure, though. After all, it is one of the most popular mangas in the world right now.

I know it really isn't that obscure but I really think more people should read Berserk.
Too true. I just finished book 16, and I really hope the library'll get more books.

There is a manga called Ikigami-The Ultimate Limit. [...]

Binzenghast, is an american manga. [...]

If you like fighting I suggest Shaolin Sisters, and Shaolin Sisters Reborn. Basically the series focuses on three girls who eventually discover they are sisters(as were there mothers).
Now that I'll have to read in order to find out how they can be sisters when their mothers were sisters too.

No idea if this is mainstream or not, but Onani Master Kurosawa, often dubbed 'Fap Note' by its fanbase. No, it's not ero, and yes I found it a mostly absolutely hilarious and deep coming of age story.

Because asking for an obscure comic is something hipsters, previously emos, do. This is the manga for you.

Not sure about comics, but I know of one manga that's pretty obscure, but I love it. It's called Franken Furan (Fran).

Warning though, only read it if you can handle gore and EXTREMELY dark humor.

The basic premise is this: Fran is a sort of super-amazing teenage surgeon girl. So amazing, in fact, that her operations are nothing short of miracles... or slaps in the face of God. Depends on your perspective.

Each story usually begins with Fran being presented with some sort of opportunity to use her amazing talents. But... things never go quite right. Oh, the operations are successful... but the patients usually get MORE than they bargained for.

For example, in one story, she finds a girl who's just been gravely injured. She saves her life, but... well...

WARNING, SPOILED FOR "OH MY GOD"

So, yeah, if you looked at that, you've got a pretty good idea what this manga's about. Highly recommended, if you're into this sort of thing.
Just started to read this! Sounds interesting :)

Absolutely adore this manga, still need to finish it though. Probably get back to it after I catch up with Berserk.

OT: Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge,by the same guy who did Welcome to the N.H.K. A short little manga(8 chapter's long) about not letting death overtake you, and a hot chick fighting a dude with a chainsaw. Turns out to be the same thing.

Girlfriends, A excellent yuri manga if your in to that sort of thing.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 2: Battle Tendency, sure everyone's read/watched it's sequel Stardust Crusaders but part two is amazing. It takes all the core concepts of Phantom Blood and cranks them up to eleven plus a nazi gets a big damn hero moment. Really great series with some great fight's though the scans I read were out of order.

I don't know what you'd count as obscure but here are some recommendations anyway:
Supergod (by Warren Ellis)
Y: The Last Man (by Brian K Vaughn)
American Vampire (by Scott Snyder)

I've read Y start to finish, and American vampire I've read book one of, but Supergod looks interesting.

Have you read any Hellboy comics? I read all of those I could get my hands on, then I needed a new fix so I thought i'd try Thor the Great Avenger (or somesuch) and it was GARBAGE compared to hellboy. The most cliche story I'd ever read. So yes it is very good. Mike Mignola has a love for folklore, history and mythology and he pours it into Hellboy. And BPRD.
I've read Hellboy and it was good. I've been planning to read BRPD. What's the name of the first volume? I'll rserve it at the library.

I do not like Bleach.
At all.
I can't believe I read twenty-five books before I quit it.

It's a a shounen about a otaku vampire who runs a gang in the slums of hell.
One day a human girl walks straight into hell and he vows to protect her.
It's just fun.

I'm going recommend Bus Gamer if you haven't read it. It's one of my favourite mangas alongside Kurosaki Corpse Delivery Service and M.P.D. Psycho.

Comics-wise. Hypothetical Lizard by Alan Moore was quite interesting.

So I'll kill anyone who mentions Watchmen. It's not obscure. I want unknown stuff, stuff people haven't heard about even though it's really great. Like The Tale of One Bad Rat by Bryan Talbot. Don't limit yourself to any particular kind of comic.
Well for starters, what kind of stuff do you like? You want to put some favourites of yours in the OP?

Two words: Atomic Robo.

The titular character is a robot built by Nikola Tesla in the 1920s. He can do anything an ordinary person can, only better because his muscles are hydraulic and his brain is an advanced computer. Granted full citizen status by the United States government after a successful top secret mission to stop a mad Nazi scientist, Robo runs an international anti-weirdness agency similar to the one Hellboy works for. Half the fun of the series is the sheer absurdity of the missions, the other half is Robo's constant wisecracks.

Brief example: Robo answers the telephone!

Phone: "Robo? There's a pyramid in Egypt."
Robo: (Pause) "Yes, Vik, that's super. Thank you."
Phone: "No, Robo. It's mobile."
Robo: "I'll be in the hangar in five minutes."

I've always been a fan of the Battle Angel series, and the Last Order follow-up becomes it's own awesome story.
The animated series of The Maxx got me into collecting comics. I had been aware of and sometimes bought comics beforehand, but that's when I finally stopped just browsing my friend's collections and started actually caring.

Kirkman's Irredeemable Ant-Man is a brilliant mini series. Cosmic Marvel's Annihilation is a fucking awesome event that they published about 6 years ago which surprisingly requires 0 knowledge of the cosmic-side of the Marvel Universe to understand and enjoy.

I've got very broad tastes comic-wise, so I have no real preferences. Just make sure it's not an average shonen and I'll like it.

I liked Irredeemable Ant-Man and Annihilation is on my personal top 100 greatest comcis list. It is the most awesome sf comic I've ever read.

I really like Battle Angel Alita, but the Last ORder series wasn't as good if you ask me, though still worth reading. Iäve been curious about The Maxx for a while.
