The Street Fighter (No, not THAT Street Fighter).

With Sonny Chiba as Terry Tsurugi.

I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny, but the faces that Chiba makes are so ridiculous, that you can't help but laugh at them. Add to that over-the-top karate moves, hilarious-sudden scene changes, and violent fight scenes.

Seeing how the movie is now public-domain, and you can find the DVD for about a dollar, you owe it to yourself to see this movie. Despite all the silliness, and the easily-forgotten story, this movie will put hair on your hair.

Edit: Found some of the fight scenes on youtube (in fact, if you don't care about the video quality, you can see the entire thing on youtube). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7QJEDwa7iw&feature=related

Ong Bak and Warrior King... you get to watch a Thai lose it and beat people to death... brilliant. There's a scene in Warrior king where he just takes on 100 mooks, crunch is all I'm saying.

Heartbreak Ridge. Clint Eastwood at his best in my opinion.

But if you are looking for action awesome, I'd say things like Wanted and The Incredible Hulk.

For more old school action awesome, try Drunken Master, The Young Master, basically almost any of jackie chan's earlier works.

Crank is just completely illogical and ridiculous fun. I recommend it.
This as well. It's Jason Statham doing what he was born to do: screwing over people who get in his way and scowling. What's not to love?
Thirded. Don't look too deeply into it and you'll just have an awesome time.
As is the case with most Statham movies...

Not all of us! At least any of his new stuff. Sadly he suffered the comic illness know as "The Steve Martin Effect" where he is destined to only appear in films so unfunny that people might never remember that he did actually make some really funny films when he first started out.

The Mariachi Trilogy. Especially part 2, Desperado and part 3, Once Upon A Time In Mexico are just pure badass with some of the best gunfights you'll ever see.

That and most other recommendations already made in this thread.

Ok, here's mine:

- Forrest Gump
- Big Fish
- Stand by Me
- "V" for Vendetta
- A History of Violence
- Enemy at the Gates
- Shawn of the Dead
- Dawn of the Dead (both of them)
- Quarantine
- Snatch

The first three aren't really action flicks, but if you haven't seen them you must do so, for they are three of the best movies that I have ever seen. "V" for Vendetta is another favorite of mine. Loved the 'Valerie's Letter' scene.

Whatever you decide to watch, I hope you enjoy them! =-D
