I'd say Sigur Ros, but I recommend them to everyone regardless of their tastes. Also whoever pointed you in the direction of Thrice did you an outstanding service, because they're amazing.

dredg, The Dear Hunter and Circa Survive are great bands to get into if you like loud fast music but also like prog. You'd probably also like Brand New and Thursday. Listen to Fugazi and At the Drive-In if you want to get into proper emo. The Mars Volta is a must for any prog fan, and if you get into ATD-i, you'll absolutely want to check out Sparta. Isis is an essential alt-metal/post-metal band. Explosions in the Sky is a great first band to get you instrumental post-rock. Battles will get you into experimental stuff and math rock. I'd also recommend giving Deftones and Queens of the Stone Age a good try if you haven't already.

In the way of Metal I suggest Disturbed and Godsmack. Also, you might find the Beastie Boys interesting, specifically Intergalactic.

They're relatively small but that doesn't make them less awesome
Edit: just Google 'Kingskin' and you'll get their Myspace

Based on Linkin Park and 3 Doors Down, you may like Placebo (a lot of their music is quite melancholic, but some of their stuff can be more upbeat: if you only listen to 3 of their songs to test them, I recommend Ask for Answers, This Picture and Heamaglobin to get a look at how varied they can be).

First, you automatically get awesome points for checking out Scar Symmetry, they're amazing. However this provides something of a paradox. Judging from your listed bands you aren't a fan of heavier stuff; I wouldn't think you would like Scar Symmetry based off of your list.

I'm going to go ahead and hazard the best recommendations I can,

Hellowean

Axel Rudi Pell

Raintime

DragonForce *readies flame shield*

Before I get mobbed for that last one hear me out. Seeing as how DragonForce is the deformed crack baby of power metal and 80's glam metal I think it's rather fitting based of the original post's listed bands.
