Recommend Me Some PS1 Games

LEGEND OF THE DRAGOON!!!

One of the best PS1 games ever made in my opinion.

Also, the two Mega Man Legends games if you're into that kinda thing. Have fun.

Easy "Jade Cocoon" 1. Starts off like the typical Jrpg monster hunter/catcher game but combinding monsters to gain skills, alter shapes, bodies and skills. Vs mode. Seriously it is a short game story wise but its after story is by far the best I've seen in a while.

LOLOLOLOL I had a demo of that and thought it was the best game in existence but we never got the full thing.

My choices:

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (The ACTUAL best PS1 game in existence)
The Spyro the Dragon series
The Crash Bandicoot series (mostly the first one)
Monkey Hero (I had a demo and it was awesome but again, never got the full thing)
Megaman X4 (and really any of the megaman games, i'm just not sure what ones are on PS1)

Yeah all the Gex games were and Gex 3 was way better on the PS1 then on N64 because you could save! Also its available on PSN needless to say I bought lol.

Haha yeah, I guess I just had the N64 one. And yes, it definitely would have been nice to be able to save. xD

There are plenty of great PS1 games. These are my personal favorites.

Dino Crisis 2 - The gameplay could be quite dated to today's standards, but this was the first game that Capcom tried to make a fully action game out of a former survival horror game. This could be very well the spiritual precursor of Onimusha and Devil May Cry and, eventually, Resident Evil 4. Also, what's not to love about killing dozens of dinosaurs with huge weapons?.

Castlevania - Symphony of The Night - Not much to say here, just play it.

Vagrant Story - Amazing Action RPG with a wierd turn based hack n' slash system. Also, you get to fight bosses every 15 minutes.

Crash Bandicoot 2 & 3 - These were easily some of the best 3D platformers the PS1 offered. If you had to pick between 2 & 3, I'd go with 2. Just avoid the first one like the bubonic plague.

Spyro 2 - Another amazing platformer. If you can grab the whole trilogy, then good for you.

MediEvil - A rather bizzarre hack n' slash game with a touch of an Action/Adventure game and one of my favorite PS1 games. I easily finished this game like 4 o 5 times with 100% completition... it's that good.

Metal Gear Solid - 'Nuff said.

Mega Man X series - It's Mega Man, there's not much to say, other than these were some of the best 2D graphics the PS1 had to offer and they still hold up pretty well today. I'd go for X4, but if you can get 'em all, the better.

Resident Evil 2 & 3 - THE survival horrors of the PS1. 2 is my personal favorite, but 3 is still amazing. I don't like the first one, except for the GameCube remake, but if you're curious, get it too. Also, what's not to love about Jill sandwiches?

Yay, someone else here knows MediEvil exists! ^_^

I'd have to reccomend the oldschool Crash titles.

Suikoden 1 and 2. That's all I have to say. Both are great long RPG's (at least I think so)

One day I decided to go drudge about in my attic, mostly because Steam was down in my area and I had nothing to do.

After looking for about 15 minutes, I found my old PS1 I had stuffed up there long ago and forgot about it.

And I want to get some games on it. So suggest away.

You know, it'd be helpful if you gave us a list of games you already had, so we could say 'ah, he likes racing games' or 'fighting games' ect.

It's been way too long for me to remember which games I had. Any old ones I have are either sold or missing in the abyss.

On genres I like, I'm fine with any and all.

So far I'm going to get:

MSG
Castlevania: SotN
Spyro
Crash Bandicoot
FF VII
Rayman
Parasite Eve

Just make sure you get CB 1 2 and 3 (I think 2 is better, but 1 is still great, and so is 3), as well as Spyro 2 and 3 (maybe 4, if thats on PS1, don't recall), and especially for the FF series, while FF VII is unquestionable the greatest, IX is also truely excellent, I can't speak for VIII, but you should hunt down IX for certain.

I've never played it, but people seem to like Syphon Filter.

Oh yes, Metal Gear Solid. It is my favourite game of all time.

Breath of Fire III. One of the characters is an onion, and that's reason enough to seek it out.

Defiantly MY favorite PS1 game..... Kind of a Pokemon for adults type game.

Sorry for using caps but this game is seriously that good. Awesome story, really fun combat (additions system was so cool I wish more turn-based RPGs would use it) and I'm pretty sure it's not that hard to find.
