Arctic Monkeys, their newer stuff is great.

Some alternative stuff is The Hoosiers, who are awesome and I've been listening to them quite a bit recently.
I think The Arctic Monkeys' stuff has gone right downhill since When The Sun Comes Down, with Fluorescent Adolescent being an all too brief exception. The Hoosiers' debut was kick-ass, but their new stuff is a let-down imo.

You familiar with Two Door Cinema Club? Those guys are picking up some serious momentum now, and believe me it's well deserved. The Vaccines are pretty good as well, especially if you like some frantic Arctic Monkeys style.
I love TDCC, no idea why I didn't mention them, lol.

Some more stuff like this I know is Blood Red Shoes.

Or the Kooks, who are very Indie, and their guitarist is awesome.

And another band, The Fratellis.

That Blood Red Shoes song is pretty good, cheers :)
Weirdly just been going back into a Kooks/Keane/Razorlight re-visit myself!
The Black Keys have been mentioned a few times here I think and I assure you they are awesome:
You'd probably enjoy the soothing tones of Noah & the Whale as well :)

I find the lack of Closure in Moscow in this thread disturbing. Also, not alt-rock, but I actually like some of Faunts stuff, like M4 (Part 2), the song that played over the credits of ME1.

MUSE! EVERYTHING BY MUSE! (can you tell I'm a fan?)
Naw, Muse have progressively gotten worse over the years.

Washington, City in Colour are pretty decent at the moment.

I'm thoroughly disappointed that I don't see any classic indie rock...

So let's start at the beginning with Dinosaur Jr. one of the first Alternative bands... 1983...<.<

They're better live...

And They're still rocking today...<.<
