whats your biggest regret from your childhood? or if your still young whats your biggest regret so far.

the main regret i keep remembering was back in year 6 i moved from the town i had been for 99% of my life to another town. well anyway i moved during school holiday and just never told anyone. none of my friends, no one. i dont know what i was thinking. was i too scared or sad to say goodbye to friends i had for 5-6 years or was i just thinking im not moving that far i could just ring them up or see them on weekends. a few years later we saw each other at a inter school sports day thing, and it sounded like they were still angry at me.

so how about you, whats your biggest regrets.

I regret refusing to go see my Grandma with Alzheimer's during the last year of her life. To be fair, I spent most visits in the waiting room bawling my eyes out (depending on the day, she thought I came to kill or rape her, and would scream endlessly until I left).

I took art instead of band in middle school. All my friends and the girl I was going for for a while were in band, and obviously I wasn't. I don't really have time to go into details, but, it sucked. Too late now, though.

Nothing compared to your two but, from 8th grade till senior year in high school I had a huge crush on one of my best friends, and I still regret not going for it, not even telling her. It's been 5 years since graduation and I haven't seen/heard from her in all that time.

Probably that I didn't go to a university that would have required me to live on campus, thus forcing me to learn to socialize in person.

I'm in my senior year of High school right now. And because of the awful mistakes I made during my sophomore and junior years, I won't be graduating with my class, and friends.

Hmm... I have plenty, like dropping out of college and telling this one big lie to my uncle which cost him some money, but there is no one big regret that stands out for me. I try to live my life without regrets and it seems to be working.

Not taking more chances.

Something I continue to do. But you know what they say:

"Experience is just the ability to recognize your mistake when you keep making it. "

I regret that I was too late to confess to a girl my feelings. If I had just garnered the courage sooner. Thoughts about that day creep into my mind every now and then. Like a cancer.

Oh well, can't change the past.

yeah but my mistakes have made in to a person i dont want to be and i think if i had handled my moving away better i would be a better person right now.

reading some of your posts reminded me of another smaller regret. basically in year 5 i had a crush on this girl in year 6. well i was too chicken to do anything and then she went on to year 7 well like 3 years later im like 90% sure that the same girl and i had a similar circle of friends in highschool and she asked me out and again i didnt do anything. but also she had gone out with every one of my friends so i think she was just going down the list of friends and i was at the bottom :(

I regret never telling my parents how much I loved them and how grateful I was that they did so much for me before they died.

There is nothing in my childhood to regret.
Everything that happened was either out of my control or worked to create who I am now. Or, more usually, both.

No regrets.

Now some people might say that as an arrogant way of implying they've never made a mistake or missed an opportunity. I've done both. A lot. Some things in my past make me want to cringe myself into a coma.

But those mistakes have made me into who I am. I learned from them, if nothing else what not to do next time. I can't think of anything worse than to be someone who has never made a mistake or never missed an opportunity, because it seems to me that person would either have zero ambition or zero context in which to judge their own achievements.
Exactly this. I love my life, and every triumph and every failure, every success and every mistake, every moment at all led to where I am now, so as much as I like to look back and play 'what if', I can never come up with anything that I would change if it also changed who I am and where I am in my life now.

Sometimes people say they want to live a life without regrets. The way I do that is by thinking before I do things - that way I don't make a bad decision that I'll later regret. Some people also say I overthink things, but it's working fine for me so far. Worry about your own life.
