No, no no. She should simply tell the school not to allow her son access to it. She has absolutely NO right to push her religion and opinions on everyone else. Just because she is deluded does not mean the whole school must suffer. God, if I had gone to High School in America I would have gone INSANE!
You have to feel sorry for her child.
Her kid is probably brainwashed, nothing you can do for him now.
Her son is perfectly fine and he's a pretty cool guy. He reads manga and plays counter strike on the computer, I don't know about his relationship with his mother but I assume she doesn't know.

Just keep doing what you're already doing. Ignoring is the best way to silence such shouty people. I assume a reasonabe, constructive conversation is out of the question, since we're talking about someone who "thinks God told her to tell you".

Separation of church and state should be able to take care of this one. If not, this is the kind of issue that the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster likes to get involved in. If things start getting out of hand, you can always post your school's predicament on their web page;

http://www.venganza.org/

I'm sure quite a few individuals would love to help out. It's the kind of help that gets school boards a few hundred letters a day, mind you. Be careful.

I wish you luck in defending your 1st amendment rights! (if you live in the United States that is...)

Is that seriously an exact quote?

Also, and be honest: Did you just come and ask this question to the Escapist because you knew that most most of the community is liberal and totally against religious extremists?

OT, though, I think certain people take their religion to astronomical standards, and try to force said religion on everyone else. I don't believe this is right, but religion tends to be a risky subject, so many people can get away with these sort of things. And I also feel very bad for that poor kid.
Well I'm somewhat new to the escapist so I assumed everyone would bash her for the video games thing. I don't know the difference between liberal and that other category and I plan on never learning. Sorry but that's the way it is, keep my nose out of politics don't smell no shit.

I hop she doesn't start a huge campaign on it, it'll probably die down but it was enough of a shock that I thought she would prevail.

Some kid's mom huh?

Beat that kid relentlessly. That has got to be the most effective course of action.

Argument: "I have the right to religion"

Rebuttal: "And we have the right to not have it forced on us"
Argument: "I have the right to my opinion!"

Rebuttal: "Yes, but not all opinions are equal, and most are just stupid."

((Not aimed at the quoted, by the by, just used it as a setup to logic-smash the crazy ***** who BAWWW'd at your school. And this gave me the ability to drop my load of psychological knowledge all over this thread. Mmm, fresh mental load...))

Y'know what we should do? We should form a "Christian" church with views and beliefs the EXACT opposite(except for basic theological stuff, like God and Jesus) of most churches, and try and push our views on them. We could lobby, protest, and preach hate just like they do, and maybe they will start to see what they are doing.
The funny thing is her son does read that stuff and his mom doesn't know. I know her son cause he's popular and he tries to not let this bring him down. He's a pretty happy buy but I haven't gotten to know him.

I'm not Christian but isn't there something about 'loving thy neighbour' and respecting everyone regardless of background or belief?
Yeah, but people tend to read: 'no god shall be worshipped other than me' first.

Fair enough.

But, if you want my advice, this is a great argument:

All you can do is make a rebuttal article and keep us updated on the progress of her tirade so we may complain some more.

I prefer that not happen. Because that would mean that Chritian logic is flawed. Having flawed logic makes the church angry.

And we all know what happens when the church gets angry. Purging of non-believers and...

I did not expect that.

I thought guns were made by good, honest, God-fearing, American patriots.
They were invented by Europeans.
Guns were originally created by the Chinese. It was the Europeans who mass-produced them and made them more widely available.
