We don't need ANY remakes. We all ***** about how X game or Y series needs a remake but we ALSO ***** about how there are no original games anymore. This is why I spend so much time playing indie PC games. Innovation.
At any rate, if I have to say one I'll say Final Fantasy 7. Not because I'm interested in it, but because it might silence the people who clamor daily for one.

The games that act as the support story for the MGS1 and games that followed, these two MGS games were only ever gone over with a text recap. Now that Snake is old, and his fate not noted for spoiler reasons, Kojima could pick up with Raiden, oooor do a remake of the first two games bringing them into modern graphics for todays generation to play, and finally have all the pieces of the New Haven plot.
It was made by Blizzard (back in the day), has those Blizzard orks, and was like Oddworld with balls, and a shotgun. This remake would only be worthwhile in 2d, since 3d incarnations would be any other platformer/cover system game with guns.

...as far as remakes, a new graphics version of Life and Death 2: The Brain, NEEDS to be made. If you don't know what it is google it. Oh the many lives I took in that game... even when I was trying to do well...

Well AvsJoe said it all. Banjo Kazooie would be awesome, especially if it had a more 'mature' theme like Conker's Bad Fur Day.
Personally I would kill someone for a remake of Starfox Assualt. And please for the love of god give it a longer storyline, 4 hours to finish it in your first playthrough is just pathetic.

I think we need a reboot of Mario, which I don't think is the same thing. I think someone should remake the original Mario Game, but in 3D in the style they used for Super Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy (Not that side-scrolling Wii crap we got in the last remake), and then hire the guys who made the first two paper mario games and/or the Mario and Luigi GBA games to write a story for it. Like, explain why a plumber is fighting to save this princess in the first place. Show how those two people even met in the first place, with a real, actually compelling love story. Maybe even give dialogue options like the ones in the KOTOR games for a bit of role-playing, and to give Mario emotional depth without breaking the age-old rule of never hearing his voice beyond yells, grunts, and declarations of his name. And add in a combat system more advanced than "Jump on Head, repeat"

Also, an actual remake of Silent Hill that isnt on the wii? Shattered Memories was better then Homecoming and Origins and The Room, but only just.
