It's on sale for PS+ members and Yahtzee's review is about as positive as I've ever heard him be about anything other than Portal.

Does anyone here have it? What can you compare it to? Is it worth the risk? It's obviously a digital title so no taking it back to GS if I don't like this one.

From what I've seen it looks real boring.
Take the combat from Assassin's Creed or Batman and make it awful and even more repetitive, get a bunch of bad actors to drag their way though a tedious story and nobody enjoys themselves.

The memory puzzle thing seems cool though. Go check those out on youtube.

It's a pretty mediocre game from what I've seen and heard, but I'm still surprised by how fast it's value has dropped if it's already being sold for only $14.

As far as whether it's worth the money or not, that's really up to whether you can afford to spend $14 on a mediocre game that you might not enjoy. If it was me, I probably wouldn't buy it until it was $10.

I bought it on the Steam summer sale, my one regret. It's this button mashing snore fest, which is too bad it looked decent from what I saw of early trailers. I would not recommend it personally.

Edit: Scratch that two regrets, Deadpool slapped me in the face again when I went to look for the other regret I thought I had forgotten about.

Eeeeuummmmahhhhmm...

No?

Maybe?

Just about?

I bought it for about $40 and while my expectations were low enough to not feel ripped off, I still wouldn't ever recommend it without loading on the caveats like gravy on cheap meat.

It's painfully linear (I don't mind linear games, but this one has no wriggle room at all), the combat could be generously called mediocre, the non-combat gameplay is shit, the memory puzzles are rare and kinda bad.

The story had some potential in the ideas and themes, but the execution is poor.

Visuals and music were nice though.

mmm, I rented it, it was alright. $14 may still be a bit too much XD

A great art style and premise (memories etc) hampered by fairly average gameplay and repetative combat. The story is ok. When I was playing I REALLY wanted it to be a sandbox game because there was lots of interesting buildings to see in future-paris. But thats the problem, its linear as hell and all the interesting things (Like the triomphe surrounded in a shanty town) are locked behind invisible walls :(

A damn shame.

Its like they came up with this awesome world/ backstory (the collectibles are actually interesting to read) but then didn't know what game to make with it. And ended up trying several things which made it average and unfocused.

I suppose it would be worth it if you really, really, really wanted to play a game with a female protagonist, and any female protagonist would do. Look, it's a girl! She's doing things! High concept stuff.

Aside from that, it is an exercise in ruthless mediocrity.

I wouldn't recommend it for pretty much any price. The reasons why have all been listed by other people in this thread. Which is a shame because the concept seemed pretty promising.

I would also like to note that if you are in europe (and im pretty sure aus) we will be getting metal gear revengeance and remember me for free on ps+ (this is last i checked, should take effect on 25 of october) so if you are in the region might as well wait and play it for free.

Its a decent game ,the art design is unique and interesting, the plot is promising but ultimately shallow, the gameplay is solid yet unspectacular but id say its worth the $14.

yeah i'd say it's worth $14 dollars. However since it has limited replay value, you might want to rent it i guess?

No, wait until its cheaper or free. Its pretty, the story is interesting and the memory remixing is fun. But it is really linear and the combat bored me to tears. Honestly I would rather this game had no combat because I would sigh whenever a combat area came about.

Oh and fuck those enemies that turned invisible unless you turned a light on. Wouldn't be so bad if the light stayed on for more than 2 seconds.

I bought it after some looking up and Yahtzee's review (Rayman Origins was praised more, not a single fault was pointed out). I got it for £35 and I thought it was worth it. I find the whole game very interesting with it's visuals, soundtrack and worldbuilding. The combat can get a little frustrating but I wouldn't call it a deal breaker, and the memory changing sequences are well thought out and executed.

If it's dropped this much in price already it'll probably continue to do so if you wait. Just sayin.

Keep in mind this is coming from the guy who usually refuses to pay more than $10 for a game.

why the fuck do ppl keep saying the memory puzzles were good?
all you do is slowly fast forward through a cut scene to find the few objects you can interact with and change them. picked the wrong item? FUCK YOU. go look for another one.

the game was average at best but if you can avoid scumming the combo system you do have a half decent combat system fairly similar to batman but with less of an emphasis on being awesome and more on not ripping your hair out in frustration

This game was one of the rare occasions where I found myself overlooking the many many flaws and just enjoying what was there. I saw reviews before I played the game which allowed me to temper my expectations a bit.
