if we're going to be really honest with ourselves, Guy Fawkes night is about looking around and going "Aren't catholics silly?", then enjoying the fact that they didnt overthrow the Monarchy.
So tonight, im going to go into to town, eat some sausage and mach (literally, that is NOT an innuendo) and then be pleased that the monarchy is still standing.
Truth, Justice, Freedom etc. dont really enter into it. We really need a day for all of those.

yup, I can tell that operation "In the name of free speech and freedom of information and equality" etc etc really took off...

IMO, Anonymous in theory isnt a bad idea in itself. Being able to police action under the veil of anonymity to avoid repercussions: Okay, I can roll with that.
Putting such power into the hands of irate computer hacker teenagers who have delusions of grandeur and no good sense of due process when it comes to justice: Yeah... you can guess where the problem I have with them is.

And honestly, they have done some good in this world. For example, busting an internet child pornography ring. I think I actually read the link to the article here on the escapist (but im not 100% sure, could have been somewhere else) I applaud such action, but with a fear that giving them due praise for it might be too much of an ego boost and they are going to think shutting down facebook, or fox news network (however much I happen to not like them, its still ridiculous to say "Okay freedom of speech and information, but not if you talk bad about us") is somehow indefinitely making the world a better place for all.....
