My first post was to do with game soundtracks

Andy Shandy said:
Alan Wake had a pretty good soundtrack to it with Poets of the Fall to David Bowie in it...Children of the Elder God is brilliantly placed

I always liked the majority of the songs on the Burnout soundtracks as well

As for original music...Halo's is pretty awesome as is the Sonic games - in my opinion anyways. Anytime I hear Green Hill Zone or Starlight Zone it takes me back til when I was about 4 playing Sonic 1

Is it worth it to even pay attention to user reviews anymore? Both DA2 and Portal 2 have been flamed on every review site imaginable, but I loved both of them. Even something like Yahtzee's dislike of Bioshock 2 amounts to nothing but one user's preference. Sure it didn't have as good of a story as the first, and sure it wasn't as original, but it was still pretty fun. Its probably better just to play the game for yourself and judge it accordingly, and not let some random person who hates the game for a random reason spoil your fun.

As for all of the people complaining about game length, have they ever played Modern Warfare 2 or Star Wars Force Unleashed 2?
Just some talking about when some people got mad at Portal 2 and bombed it's megacritic review score. I still stand by everything I said. Well, I'd probably change a few things....

I would like to go as No Face from Spirited Away. All I have to do is make the whole costume and figure out how to see.
Wow. That was quite awhile ago. I remember wanting to do that. Shame it never actually happened....

Talking about a Mass Effect 2 movie, and wow, has it really only been 2 years? I feel like I've been posting here forever....

There's only one way it would be good, no Bay, no Boll, and no rehashing of the same story we know every plot twist/outcome/consequence to

The forum was titled: Since when was this total shit? My post was as follows:

I consider the original Diablo to be all but unplayable these days.

The original Command & Conquer got that feel after having played Red Alert 1, or Generals years later.

Pretty much any pixelated shooter has become a nightmare regardless of nostalgia. Doom, Doom 2, Golden Eye etc.

I love how people are seeking mysteries and depth in a PORN GAME.

The purpose of the game is thus:
1) You create something that looks visually appealing to you.
2) You jump through some arbitrary hoops to simulate some semblance of a 'game' including a girl with a basic persona and flimsy inhibitions so it doesn't feel like you're having sex with a cardboard cutout.
3) You have sex with the visually appealing girl and, while you do so in game, stimulate yourself in real life because of, well, the visual appeal.
4) You finish and then put the game away until the next time you're horny, starting at Step 3, or 2 again if you want something or someone different.

Depth? Emotional attachment? Gameplay? A horny male seeks not these things. To look for them in a 'game' like this, I'd sooner call you the looney one. This entire 'game' is really no different than free porn samples on the Internet or magazines under your bed except for a bit of extra input on what you spank to. And if you say this 'game' is bad, you might as well say all pornography in general is bad. Either way, it is best to stop pretending this is a mass market high-gameplay game which should compare to gameplay-centric games like GTA and has 'deep disturbing meanings about human behavior'. Please leave your psychology books closed. You're all thinking way too much.
This was in response to an Escapist article which tried to say there was a disturbing psychological message behind Artificial Girl 3, a porn game from Japan.

What can I say, other than that I like calling things like they are.

Ironically, this is post #150 for me, talking about the first post I made...

the topic was our expectations for the year 2010.

american rappers, instead of speaking up and becoming the role models by raping about politics or social reform or bringing up and working together as a community, will continue to rap about how you have to get yours along with bitches and hoes as well as that getting money and stacks and smoking weed and drinking and partying.(Surprise!) iron man 2 will come out and will be considered...a decent movie. not a great movie but a decent movie.

How time flies. The topic was favorite videogame character.

"Doomguy, because he fought off numerous legions of unholy demons from beyond the void between worlds, and never said a word. And then sacrificed himself and stayed behind in Hell to make sure demons would never invade Earth again. Plus he was the original over powered badass space marine. Take that Master Chief.

Followed closely by Caleb, from Blood. Snappy one liners, both original and ripped from army of darkness wrapped in a cool trench coat, cowboy hat, and two sawed off shotguns. Plus he was a zombie, which adds a good 10 cool points. To quote Caleb "It's howdy doody time kiddies, the bad man is here."

And you know, three and a half years later, I still feel the same way.

Thread was about your favorite ship. My answer has since changed to Serenity and I regret nothing.

Also, I think I've had the same avatar this whole time.

"Well I blame a lot of people for the state of the video game market but not nessecarily me in particular. YES occasionaly I get lost in the madness of decapitating enemies to the music of Linkin Park but all in all a good story goes a long way. Even if the game is repetetive a good storyline may be able to save its ass. Halo 3 I found awful because it didn't keep me interested despite the fact its all adrenaline based action. And the same follows with a lot of games. The creativity is much more important then the action by far."
I used to like Linken Park? Things do change!

My grammar was atrocious.

There are three things I look at when I see a person for the first time.

1: Eyes
2: Lips
3: Ass

Expressive eyes are so incredibly beautiful I go crazy when I see someone with eyes like that. Like my best friend. He has eyes that were given to him from god himself.

Really. The world needs to know how the worlds most beautiful eyes look like. I'll post a picture of him or something :)

Something I really like in a woman is their voice. Raspy voices are to prefer (Like Julie Benz).
I never thought the same about men, till I heard Kaidan speak on Mass Effect. Gah <3
It was made in a thread about what attracts you to the opposite gender.

I feel exactly the same way then as now :)

Using wikipedia as a source in and of itself, and citing it as such, will get your paper laughed at, plain and simple. Yes, it has a citation section, but the page itself could be edited, and as such, is less trustworthy than a hard copy of an uneditable article, not to mention it is third-hand information. If you're going to get information from wikipedia, go to the citation section and get your information from the credible sources, rather from the wiki page.
It was a post on whether or not Wikipedia was reliable.

Here's a good topic: The use of "they" as a non-gender-specific singular pronoun, e.g.
"Someone rifled through my stuff; whoever they are, they're not very stealthy." Or
"I was talking to this person on the internet, and then they insulted me!"

I'm all for it. You?
I was such a card, back in 2011. Did I use that semi-colon correctly?

I know of two memorable "Last Stand" experiences, both in WoW. The first during a heroic Slave Pens group, we had pulled the giant crab (whose name escapes me at 6am) when all of a sudden our tank goes down. Right after the healer gets squished and both our melee dps, then it's my turn, I snap off a fireball (I was playing a mage)as the beast starts bearing down me, I start casting a second one, if I can get it off he'll die as he only has 1,000hp left. It came down to a race between him getting to me, and my cast bar. My fireball shot out just as he reared up to do his attack emote, smacking him for a 2k crit and laying him down. I think I actually may have yelled "That's how it's done, B***H!" into my mic.

The other instance of this, I wasn't the hero, in fact it was my dwarf pally tank who saved us. In the new instance, Halls of Reflection, we were on heroic, and the last 'boss fight' is actually just running as fast as you can before Arthas catches you in his little "I kill you now" aura. We has got slowed down at teh halfway mark, and we were cutting it right down to the wire, sometimes only making it through the barriers with inches to spare. At the last barrier, Arthas was bearing down, I remember looking down, my back was plastered to the barrier wall, and Arthas' aura was mere feet from giving me a bad case of frostbite, our tank types in chat "I got this" and leaps through the AoE at Arthas, who promptly stops, one-shots the dwarf so fast you can almost hear Arthas say "WTF?" But that one second delay was all we needed, we killed the last undead, broke down the barrier and made it out onto the balcony to be rescued by the Skybreaker, In party chat we then had a long discussion about how the tank knew that would work, to which he replied, "I didn't, we just didn't have any other options."
From way back in December, of 2009, My account here is much older than that, but this was my first post, made about experiencing that "Last Stand Effect" when all hope seems lost so you throw yourself into the melee with a hearty battlecry of "For SPARTA!!!"

Ah I get misty eyed re-reading this post, reminds me of my old guild on WoW, and the shenanigans we got into... good shenanigans, happy, fuzzy shenanigans, not like nowadays, where you get cold, mean shenanigans; not really shenanigans at all really... like fake shenanigans....

It's a bit large.

To avoid:
K-ON. Overhyped, truthfully. It's about some loli's singing...About it.
Death Note. Cheesy, very boring.
Naruto. What can I say? Yuck.
11 Eyes. A disappointing harem. Actually, just avoid -all- harems.
The original Hellsing. Don't get my wrong, the Hellsing OVA's are amazing, but the old ones...Yuck!
Hyakka Ry Ran Samauri Girls. Holy jeez, do we REALLY need more hentai action animes?
Queen's Blade. (See Hyakka Ry Ran Samauri Girls)
Please Twins/Please Teacher. UGH!
.Hack//sign. Good storyline, HORRIBLE animation. After episode 30, it becomes unwatchable.
Ikkitousen. (See Hyakka Ry Ran Samauri Girls)
Gunslinger Girls. Seriously? No.
97.43265% of all animation up to date.

To watch:

Spice & Wolf. A very mellow romance anime, with a deep story. Setting is in a medieval, 1400'ish era. Highly recommended. Yes, yes, call me a fanboy, but whatever.

Elfen Lied. If you can handle a bit of blood and nudity (NOTHING. LIKE. GANTZ.), then this show is amazing. But, a bit sad. Your call.

I was a nasty, nasty nerd back then...
