I signed up just to comment on this. It is disturbing, but he is essentially just a puff. Nintendo has said, jokingly, that he's actually marshmallow, so maybe he did survive.

As for videogame comics, I'd recommend reading "8-bit Theater" (currently completed).
To expand from thine original question to gaming in general, I would add:

1) XKCD (intellectual gag-a-day, updates MWF)
2) Goblins: Life Through Their Eyes (subversion of standard fantasy setting, updates randomly)
3) Order of the Stick (Excellent plot + meta humor in a D&D setting, updates randomly)
4) Erfworld (A gamer is sucked into a videogame-like world in the middle of a climactic battle. He must rules-lawyer his way to survival. Updates randomly, and I'm beginning to notice a theme here.)

To go even further from videogame comics, I would recommend A Miracle of Science (Mad Science is a medical disorder in a sci-fi setting. Completed) and Girl Genius ("Mad Scientists rule the world. Badly." Updates MWF).

The gaming industry at this time is really making me squirm. Any game that has less than 8 hours of fun is a large disappointments. CoD4 huge game with interesting game play and great new fps elements and plot. Finished the single player in about 2 hours (highest difficulty - too easy) and went into the multi to find that every round seemed to go the same way with camping being the main strategy and to many elitist players that really could learn to play with some skill. I only list CoD4 because it seems to get the most hype in my area as the best game out right now. Games are not meant to be perfect and as long as there is something to them that makes them fun it deserves a chance. A game like "Nox" is a great reference for the gaming developers of today. Released in 2000 it was a largely under the radar rpg with insanely difficult game play and over the top ridiculous plot line that is entertaining throughout the game. Another game would be the amazing point and click adventure game "Day of the Tentacle" run through Dos many years ago and made when Lucas Arts still had some clever ideas instead of running the same Star Wars games over and over until gamers want to puke.

I apologize for the length of this post and the rambling but I feel that the gaming industry needs to stop with the idea of "If it ain't broke don't fix it." Use your imagination and create a game thats different. Gamers will forgive you if the first time you make some mistakes if it means you fix them and the next game is amazing and clever.

I actually purchased COD4 for PC earlier this year since I no longer had the 360 version, and I got much, much worse at the single player. I guess it was beginner's luck, or sheer balls to the wall stupidity that had me beating it in just over 2 hours. Still waiting on a Day of the Tentacle HD remake.

There are a few things that really quite get under my skin. One of the major ones is racism the colour of peoples skin doesnt matter. Another is well, atleast in the town i live in that alot of the people on centrelink payments (welfare for all you Americans) heavily chain smoke, have bridges stacked with beer, and still complain about how the governments taxes are too much so they cant live. That really pisses me off if they stopped smoking and cut down ther beer they would be able to clean themselvs up and get a job to support themselves. and the last thing and this one makes me see red is when people stereotype other people based on their look i.e. they have dark hair/clothes so they must be emo, those guys just hugged they must be gay etc etc etc.

I'm still confused as to why someone felt aerosmith needed their own game.

They already had a game. Revolution X. It was a rail shooter and it was fairly ridiculous. You had a gun with infinite ammo, and a limited amount of explosive CDs for your weapons. You had to rescue Aerosmith from the evil N.O.N. who wanted to do something or another, probably destroy fun or something.

I apparently joined specifically to state that I know of a dumb shooter game, and also apparently pretend that I merely know of it and don't have a large nostalgic love for it.

the best i have ever seen would be "passive smoking" on halo 3. i couldn't help laughing when it said "you were killed by passive smoking."

His jokes are often very funny, as are the animations, and most other game reviewers that I've seen are unfunny geeks who seem to be a) bending over backwards to avoid offending the games companies, and b) pushing their own banal 'insights' into good gameplay as if their auditioning to join said games companies.

My dog is great. He's a five-year-old Pomeranian. I walk him without a collar and he always stays by me. He knows not to run away because I've raised him since he was born. He doesn't poo or pee in the house and he loves to sleep at the foot of my bed.

The only bad thing about him is the fact that he is scared of everything. Be it another dog, a mouse, a roach, a cat. Other than that, love him.

I may have been talking about my dog. Hard to tell, though.
