Multiple story paths thanks to 2 characters and 2 discs, an actually creepy/scary location and the series being, at that point, still not at the point of shark jumping.
Worst: RE5
Not scary, series had jumped the shark a long long time ago, and the controls were terrible for the action game it was so desperately trying to be.
Most overhyped: RE4
Yes, it was a good game. No, sorry fanboys, it wasn't the second coming.

You do know the Resi5 enemies are the same as Resi4? Ganados, not zombies.scumofsociety said:
I don't see how "doesn't have zombies" is a valid criticism. Las Ganados are much more effective villians in my view. You have the shambling horde of the zombie, but then difficulty (and TERROR) spikes when Las Plagas emerges.

So your dislike of Resi4 is entirely based on the NAME of the enemies? They swap out bog-standard undead zombies for parasite-possessed-peasant zombies. Same concept, they've just mixed things up a bit. What's not to like?scumofsociety said:

I dealt with it in 1-4. They were obviously the video game equivalent of B-movies, and they were well aware of it. The story didn't make a lick of sense, but then again, who's playing it for the story? We want to blow away zombies, baby. 5 pushed this over the edge. Everything seemed to be dialed up to 11. It's like watching a 7-year-old ad-lib a story while taking it dead seriously. "OK, you see the BAD GUY who can DODGE BULLETS and TELEPORT and he's got SUNGLASSES ('cause they're cool!) has these PARASITE things, and he put them on these ROCKETS, and he's gonna use the ROCKETS to BLOW UP EVERYONE and RULE THE WORLD because he's THE BAD GUY!" Obviously, this is resolved by knocking him into a volcano. Of course. They went from Evil Dead to SciFi Original Movie in one swift move.
i wondered what resi 5 did to the whole fear thing ... 4 was just perfection .. it has to be by far one of the best games ever created .. you know your character was badass yet you were still crapping your pants haha .. in some parts i refused to move LOOOL
