I'm away for a weekend and look what happens

11:08 PM.

I awake to see my team playing poker and chatting softly. I get up to stretch, my team smiling at me. I look at my watch. Damn, I'd only been asleep for 23 minutes. Covington will be here in about 35 minutes
"Where's Eric?" My squad looked puzzled, "Don't tell me you've been here for 20 minutes and you haven't realised that Eric is missing. God! Right, Rick and Kyle, go look for Eric. Thomas, Eryn, Aileen and Byran, follow me. We're going for the generator. We'll all meet at the front door in half an hour, Covington shouldn't be too late." I get a nod from my team. "Move out!"

My group walk out the door, Rick and Kyle go looking for Eric.

The next person to post can describe the location outside the door they stepped through. Yes, I give you permission to encounter dogs from now on.

Welcome back voodoo, didn't see your post.

"Ooh welcome ba-" I was cut off by David's orders.

I followed David closely, now that he was back in his concious state, we could get things going, I just hoped that we were in for a little less trouble.

Agggh my head, i think someone is talking im not sure, yes someones talking its.......David, how long have i been out i think to myself. Better get to my feet and follow the group, i slowly stand up and shuffle along to David.

Rick and I were warry, we felt like we were being watched as we went looking thru the hospital for whare Eric had gone. I couldent help but blame myself, I thought that Eric knew that we were suppost to stay here in the hospital but I guess I lost track of him when the zombies broke down the door. "Rick, do you think theres an entrance or somthing near by whare Eric could have gone?" I asked tenatvely. I dident know what to expect, much of the hospital whare we were heading was lit but barely. We kept walking down the hallway looking for Eric, our weapons raised and in fully automatic mode. I heard a crack of breaking glass, I swung around, I wasent going to take my chances. Then the glass window of an observaition room shattered and out burst a group of zombie dogs. "OH SHI-" the rest was drowned out by the sound of me and Rick fireing our MP5's at the group of dogs as they atempted to grab us.

Once again everything seemed to flow. The simple 'Zombies = Kill' scenario. I was a little concerned though. This disease or whatever it was seemed to take hold of every living thing. Which increased the odds of this happening to one of our squad-mates.

"Look..." I said as I fired my gun.
"Should this...'virus' take hold of me, I don't want any hesitation, just...put a bullet in my head." I continued to fire until it was over.

"David, it's good to have you back with us...where now?"

Eryn followed behind the rest of the group. As they passed the hospital rooms all Eryn saw was blood splattered on the wall and dead bodies. Eryn heard a rustling sound but ignored it and continued on.

"yeah, ok" i didn't hear her but i had to act like every thing was normal, i had my glock in one hand and my head in the other. I aimed my gun at the general area that the dogs were coming from and fired 3 shots it hit and killed 1 dog.

11:11 PM.

"Er, this way." As we walk I see a sign on the wall pointing down a flight of stairs, it read:

WARNING! ELECTRICAL MAITENANCE! STAFF ONLY!

"Guess that's the way," My group follow me down the stairs, weirdly, the lights are on clearly when we reach the bottom. Through this door will be the generator. Gingerly, I touched the handle, and pushed...

The sight that had befallen our eyes was too much to bare. Umbrella employies(?) that had been brutally mutilated, the zombies had made this some sort of satanist church. They'd torn of their arms and used them as pillars, a collection of heads were suspended on the ceiling by wire chords. I was going to vomit, but I held it down, for the sake of everybody.

"What the fuck happened...? They're zombies, not religious-cultists..." My voice quavered.

"What the hell happened here" i look around and see the creatures church(?). "This couldn't be those creatures work, the creatures we have met have been mindless, unintelegent husks". Aggh i shouldn't talk for that amount of time my heads kiling me.

"I know...unless of course...no, that couldn't be the case. David...is it possible that these things have some sort of leader, or can they evolve in some way? I can't think of any other explanation for this." I was so set aback by the sight that I forgot about Eryn.

Eryn saw the room and became repulsed by what she saw. She put her hand over her mouth to cover up the smell. She looked around and saw that this was planned. "Who the hell would be able to do this...its disgusting."

Rick and I kept running down the hall to a small side entrance area. The zombie dogs were just as fast as regular dogs. We had killed 5 but it seemed as if the more we killed the more showed up to take there place. We made it to the entrance area just as more dogs showed up to try to eat us. I pulled the trigger on my MP5 but all I heard was the dreaded click click of an empty magazine. I dident have time to reload or pull out my side arm, a zombie dog lept towards me, I thought, "Would I die here?" But Rick stoped the beast cold with two shots from his pistol. But almost as suddenly as the zombie dogs had started comeing after us, They began to retreat back down the hall. "What in the hell is going on here?" I said to myself aloud. "Beats the hell out of me." replied Rick.

Aileen saw the mess in the the room and felt an unusual sensation. It took her several minutes to realize what it was...nausea. She fought down the sickness rising in her throat and looked around. "This...what the hell are we dealing with? Zombies, I can handle, but this..."

 

[Grab-bag]

Kyle was panicking, he had an empty clip, but my G36 didn't. I turned to face the dogs and shot out at them. There were seven of them and in one shot I took down three. The others were ten feet away when I rolled a grenade at them. They out ran it but they were stopped by the explosin. They turned, expecting more food. I tossed my glock at Kyle. We fired at them and they only noticed there was nothing there when we killed them. One left, and all empty magazines. It growled softly and paced arpund. It dived at Me, knocking me down. I twas trying to find my guts and fish them out of my body.
"Rick!" Kyle said and kicked the dog. It yelped and as it fell of me I jerked its neck, The snap. The yelp. The silence.
"Cheers man, As much as I hate to say it, I owe you one!" I stood up and brushed myself of. I wasn't harmed.
"We should move or this whole place will be full of shit knows what!" I smile and me and Kyle reloaded our weapons. I liked Kyle. He got my sense of humour, my personality. He was my best friend, we made a good team.
We came to a corridor and took a left at a junction. It would have been pitch black if not for and open door leading to an ally lit up by street lights. I pulled up my radio.
"Delta to Alfa. We have a possible position of Erics where-abouts, out!" We awaited a reply.

"I hear you, looks like we drew the short straw, you don't wanna know what we've stumbled across...where is Eric?" I was still gaging(?) at the sight of the room.

11:15 PM.

I had gotten over the mess. I had seen horrific things before, bodies burning on a pyre in Bosnia to name but one of them, though this was worse, I got over it quicker than the others. I unhooked my radio from my belt.
"Covington. Come in Covington."
"I hear you David. Listen, 4 of my team are dead. We were pushed back by the zombies, we managed to kill them all but they got 4 of us." His voice was shaking.
"I hear you, no losses on my side yet. We've just come across something very bad...some kind of altar. Something these things aren't capable of. Change of plan, meet us in the generator room. It's underground. You need to see this, read the wall maps, they tell you where to go. Squad A out."

I'd almost forgotten,"Kyle, Rick. Find Eric and then come to the generator. There's been a change of plan. There's something you need to see."

With that I turned the radio off, and waited with my group in that ghastly room.

I stumbled across a body with a name tag saying "Johnathon Price B-Squad". He had a radio that only had 3 marked frequencys "A-Squad" "B-Squad" and "C-Squad". My mind flashed back to when I met the soldiers on the rooftop, they all had A-Squad on there nametag. I picked up the radio and tuned it to A-Squads frequency, than I noticed he had a M1911A1 in his holster. I'd lost mine before this incident started, and was wandering around with an empty holster. I picked it up and holstered it and started walking back towards the hospital and activated the radio I gathered. "Any survivors of A-Squad this is Jason Smith, a survivor. The one who told you about the zombies. I am on my way inside to join you, but first I want confirmation that I will not be shot on sight. I dont intend to hunt for your missing soldier but if I come across him on my path I will bring him with me. I dont expect you to like me joining but I dont think you have much choice. Jason Smith out"
