I am trying to get every simgle pokemon.

The only thing that could possibly be harder is getting all 1000 points in DoA Xtreme Vollyball.
Been trying to do that for a long time now. I can feel it raising my blood pressure.
I'm trying to do it before they release the next generation, then I'm quitting.
Some of the Pokemon are ridiculously hard to get... a game in which you can catch every Pokemon without going down to Toys R Us every other week to get an event Pokemon, and finding someone your age who still gives a damn...
I find the serebii.net forums are a good place to find people who will trade who won't rip you off.
Cheers mate (Y)

Hello, I'm WG and I'm a whore... for achievments, yeah achievments.

You know, the PS3 kinda missed the boat on the whole achievment/trophy thing. Xbox started it, and PS3 tried to jump on board a little late, and didn't do it as well as Xbox (IMHO). I have both consoles and as such, if there is a multiplatform release, I will always get it for Xbox, partly to see my gamerscore go up. Lame I know, but I like the gamerscore way better than trophies. Trophies have 4 levels, that's it. Achievments can be of just about any point value. I haven't used trophies like I use achievments. I have never played a PS3 game differently to get a trophy. But I sure as hell have whored it up to get those Xbox achievments.

I made a promise to myself to earn 10k gamerscore a year. 10 fully completed games a year.

I am now in my third year, and have a Gamerscore of 23325. That's Twenty Three Thousand, Three Hundred and Twenty Five.

Does this make me an Achievement whore?

I'm a newly converted achievement whore. Never used to care much about them (though experienced feeling of joy when got one), but instead focused on playing game. Ever since starting my current job, and working with lots of achievement whores, I have developed an uncontrollable urge to get them all. However, am much better at getting them on Steam than 360.

Has anyone got all of portals achievements? - I've tried (and failed) its not easy.
I'm pretty sure it's almost impossible to get all the portal achievements on a console and that frustrates me because, I'm whats-his-face, and I'm an achievement whore.

It's gotten to the point where I won't even play any games on my other consoles because "what's the point, they don't have any achievements."

Hi, I'm Batman, and I'm an achievement whore.

Only recently, however. I restarted No Mercy three times just to get cr0wned... and then I killed my friends to get Man vs Tank...

Please, tell me a way to get off my newly found addiction...

Too be honest, I'm not really an achievement whore, but I will go well out of my way to get an achievement or two. Like pick-pocketing grenades into someones trousers for Fallout 3, or completing one hundred back attacks in Blue Dragon...

I do the exact same thing... And while I've been sticking to the same games lately, I do it every time I purchase a new game...I'm at 11k+ and I've had my xbox less than a year as well...While some of my favorite games still have achievements left, I feel like I'm saving them for later in case I ever need another challenge in the game...

Btw, if anyone wants a quick shooter to receive achievements in, rent or buy only 20$) Fracture. Not the worst game I've played, and on hardcore mode, isn't too challenging. Staying consistent long enough with a gun (against the hordes of enemies) gets you an achievement with every single weapon...

My name is squid5580 and I am an achievement whore. My gamerscore is slightly over 50k as of this post (and will be 51 by the end of the day barring any acts of God). It started off innocently enough. I bought a 360 at the same time as a friend and we started a race. We were always a 1000 around each other then he got a job at Rogers video and started getting free rentals. So I went to Blockbuster and got thier unlimited game rental deal. Since then I have gained a 5k lead on him. I have been up there every single day getting a different game cuz the games I got had hard or long achs. I am a member of a forum that is dedicated only to 360 achs. My crowning achievement was spending 150 -200 hours neutralizing and capping a control point in FEAR 2 (it resembled the hokie pokie) for 160 points. Although if it wasn't for achs there is alot of games I would never have played (like the new Prince of Persia) so being afflicted with this disease isn't an altogether bad thing.

And I have not sold out by playing Avatar for the 5 min 1000

Ya but to 1000 it you are looking at at least 60 hours of online boredom (the 1500 match one). Clive Barkers Jericho is an easy 1000 if you are looking for a shooter (and it should be cheap).

True about the online boredom... People don't even play online much anymore (not that I've seen) which sucks because I had fun in the one match that I was in... (Snuck into the opposing teams spawn and was sniping them with the scorpion from the back of it during a CTF match...)

I am an achievement whore. I have over 51,000 GS and I don't plan to stop. But I will not play a game just for the achievement, though.

Which is why I can proudly say that I have not played Avatar.

You sir have made some incredible progress, and have incredible self-control. I wonder how many other people here can say the same thing.
