Ridiculously Pretentious Names in Games

I hate any name that makes include any variation of the words sniper; pro; pure; elite or killer.

People may consider my gamertag (g3n3r4l WTF) to be pretentious but I did it as an inside joke with my friend Captain CBA, and the nubers are there because the normal lettered one was already taken.

I do get a lot of grief when I suck though, people questioning my claim to be a general when I'm lacking skill or below the general rank in said game, but i simply cba telling them the reason behind my name.

I love my name, people always say 'who the fuck is Jasper Jeffs', like I'm a friend of a friend or something. I don't know why but I always get that response, even when I don't speak. It just sounds so fucked up, and I'm yet to figure out why.

I see a lot of TaCTiicKzzz kinda names, they make me laugh. Like, just because he named himself "tactics" he all of a sudden uses them. I hate any name that begins with M16, also.

The best name I've seen is a guy named GI Joseph on Rainbow Six, what a fucking name.

I prefer to use names which refelect how I feel. Or sometimes from a song I really like which has good lyrics.

Conversely, my name on here is actually from an incredibly mediocre Snow Patrol song but I did like the name.

When I made my Xbox gamertag thingy, and called it Arcanz. Like I always do, because that's what I call myself everywhere. I was told by my friends that that name was not a real "xbox" nick, seeing as it was too plain and simple. *sigh*

Straight Edge is a lifestyle with hundreds of thousands of people who claim, and millions of adherents to the rules. The rules are this:

Do not smoke

Do not drink

Do not use narcotics

Do not have promiscuous sex

If you adhere to those rules, to be considered Straight Edge, you just have to claim it. There is no central structure or organization, but it has roots in hardcore punk music and most edgers like hardcore.

I get your meaning but should letters=characters and "standard keyboard"= alphabet? cuase !,#,$,% etc. are on keyboards.

Just the name assassin in Gamertags pisses me off, along with Sniper or anything else that is genre exclusive to fps's, it doesn't suprise me when i look at they're played games and see Halo 3 and COD 4 right at the top.

My list of hated names:

1) Your real name. You have to have no imagination to just name your gaming persona "Jason".
EXCEPTIONS: If your name is cool like mine is. Douk, it sounds so cool you want to touch it, but you mustn't touch.
2) Celebrities's name. I stand corrected, you have to have less than no imagination to name yourself afters someone else.
EXCEPTIONS: If you incorporate their name into a joke: Bill ORLY, Oprah Windfury, and Brock Obama are all acceptable.
3) Anything to do with snipers.
Noe xceptions.
4) A quarter of the characters are symbols. XxHolySnip3rxX as an example.
EXCEPTION: if your username is "Mr.T"

My online name is my actual name, although, to be fair, I haven't seen my name online at any point. And I'm on the Wii. (its Fernando. Did you see an online name like that?)

Other than that, yeah, your list makes perfect sense.
