Apparently, Department of Homeland Security thinks that Right-wing Extremists will be a threat in the near-future... Most of the references to what exactly defines a said extremist are vague and generalized... I personally don't see this as a potential problem, though the bad economy can spark things of this nature, I doubt it will be solely be right-wing... Any thoughts?

I'd call Islamist extremism pretty right-wing, if by right wing you mean authoritarian.
Given it's the department of Homeland Security, they probably don't mean authoritarian and actually mean libertarian.

Fair enough, those ideologies do tend to gain more support during economic recession. I doubt it'll be that big a problem though.

Of course this is hilarious and bullshit at the same time.

So now they can come to peoples houses and kill them for complaining about the state of affairs and say that they were "right-wing extremists" trying to "organize a local militia."

Rofl.

More steps taken to destroy the country. Wonderful.

See Hilter, 1930 to 1934-ish.

More so Mussolini, he did it first.
True, but I think Hilter is more widely known as been successful for longer ;) Ok, only 1-2 years longer, but still.

That's the funny thing... The DHS sent that report with a warning to all law enforcement branches in the US....

Remember the Oklahoma City bombing?
The Olympic Park bombing?

As the perception of an external terrorist threat wanes and perception of government as "liberal" and interventionist rises, they'll be back to their old shit again.

In times of crisis people tend to lean towards far right or far left parties... any port in a storm mentality. Rarely a good thing.

They really put the emphasis on veterans as well... Hence The Oklahoma City bombing, and the recent kid who shot three policemen. All of which had military training. The kid who shot the deputies also had ties to some sort of white supremacy group. Which makes sense seeing as it was the Marines he joined (Not clowning morons...err Marines, but White Hate groups usually choose that branch over others for gang training)

Just tell him its hunting season and that the Right-wingers are lawyers. He'd gun'em down like grass.

I wouldn't doubt it. Right-wing extremism is not tolerated nowadays, and that works for me. Outright racism, radical terrorism, and hate groups like the KKK are kicked to the curb by modern enlightened societies.

IMHO, the problem is that while right-wing extremism is treated as anathema, left-wing extremism is much more tolerated. I wish both sides' extremists were kicked to the curb; both are harmful...IMHO, once more.

Hey...just for fun...can anyone define "fascism"? :)

Uh, what? This thread confuses me, though I suppose it just might be because I don't understand the OP. ZorroFonzarelli has my backing though: extremists on both sides are harmful. Just get somebody moderate to fix things up.

I don't think they can do that... you know, habeas corpus and fair trials and such...
