One question, how many consoles have died in the time that PC gaming has being in the processes of dying?
Better question; how many PC
setups have died between 1st Gen and 7th Gen (ie: now)?
What people are often very, very wrong about PCs is they assume the PC is some single entity. It is not. I'm on my 4th PC at the moment, with the last three being disbanded as hopelessly obsolete. Trying to run a modern PC game on, say, my second PC would be rather like trying to run Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PSX... only with fires and the sound of screaming metal.
When Consoles become obsolete, they bring out a brand new one and say "that was the GamePlayer X. This new one is the GamePlayer Ultra X, and is a whole new machine."
When PCs become obsolete, you buy a new PC. It is just as different to your old one as your new console is to your old one, but you still
claim it is the same machine. That is not the case.
