Not forgetting that fact; indeed consoles are susceptible, but not anywhere near on the scale PC games are. Almost all the major arguments about game DRM and piracy last year revolved around PC games.
Reselling games is the equivalent of piracy, mate.

Well, I don't see the PC going anywhere. It has great exclusives like... uhh... Diablo and... uh... Warcraft and Starcraft! And...

Did I mention Diablo?

And the fans are always nice. They don't act like snobs, claiming console players are jerks. They certainly aren't asses who like to spout how awesome they are and constantly put others down because they're so stupidly snobbish they'd rather hate people than just enjoy their games.

Nope. Not at all.
Yea, and I totally don't get every time I go on Xbox live :

"Oh well you just suck"

and

"Well your mom"

and

"HALO IS THE BEST GAME EVER"

and

"I JUST PWNED THIS MATCH"

Those things are never said at all ;)

P.S. : KSarty ur avatar is awesome!
I have a Ps3 by the way. Your comment just flew right over into "I couldn't care" Territory.

Oh, and if you try and correct your mistake, you lose.

Also, I see you didn't counter me. Which means you agree that PC snobs are the most sickening people in the world.
Anyone who thinks they should divide gamers into groups based on their platform and then elevate their own should be castrated. That said, you will always have console tards and pc elitists so hush up and let the big boys talk.
Whoa whoa. I'm trying to rectify the problem. Don't throw your anger at me. But you must admit what I say is true. PC users are always so high of themselves.

Okay WTF is with this thing about PC elitist. When did elitism become bad? Elitism isn't bad it's how it is and always has worked until recently and now it has stopped because all of the babies and losers crying to their mommies. If something is better like the PC, and I can say this because the PC has and can do everything the the consoles can do and better, it should have the right to show itself and be established as superior. Just because you bought a bad system and think you wasted your money doesn't mean you have the right to *****.

BECAUSE IT'S NOT BETTER. That's what makes you a snob. Console gaming has helped video games become what they are today. PC gaming is fun and all, but it's not the best thing in the world.

If you disagree, I'd like to see some points why. The PC is automatically not the best gaming platform because it lacks so many exclusives of the console games. Not to mention not everyone likes to play on a keyboard or have to shell out money to buy an additional controller.

Do you hate consoles so bad? Why? Why do you have to be so arrogant and selfish when it comes to consoles? Did they touch you at a young age and you have repressed feelings? Yeesh.

You're no better than a fanboy.
You think I am a fan boy? Look in the mirror. You want some points well here are some:

1. Anything a console can do the PC can do better or equal.

The PC can do everything the consoles can do equal or better. The graphics, game play, controls, and online features are all better or equal on the PC. I have an Xbox 360 and a Wii and I have played a good amount on them, and I noticed most of the time that the game would be better on the PC. Consoles should not exist, they bring nothing to the industry that PC can not do. This brings me to my next point.

2. Consoles have done a lot for the industry.

Yes the Consoles have done things for the industry, but not good things. The consoles have promoted bad games and ideas that have negativity effected the industry. For example, Halo. Halo is a average game with not the best game play or story, but because of the hype and it being on the Xbox it promotes its type of bad game play and ideas. Most games now strive to be Halo which is not a good thing.

Also consoles like I said before have brought nothing, no new features, nothing. Everything that can be done on consoles can be done better on the PC.

3. Consoles have exclusives that the PC does not have.

Yes very rarely this happens, but usually all good games are on the PC and better on it. I can't even think of a game that the consoles have that the PC doesn't, and if it doesn't, it has a PC game equivalent that is better. You can also use this argument the other way.

There are more games that only come out for the PC, than games that only come out for the consoles only. This brings me back to my previous argument, PC has everything consoles has, and it does it better.

4. People don't want to play with a mouse and keyboard, and people want BIG screens to play there games on.

Well a PC has a solution to these problems. If you own a controller to any game system, which I bet you do if you own a console, then you can hook it up to the PC and play with it (again here is the argument about how the PC has everything consoles have). Also if you want a big TV, there are huge monitors for PC now, and if you don't want to but one there is now Technology to hook up your computer to your TV.

So in conclusion the PC has everything and more that a console has. So the PC will never die and the consoles are obsolete.
1. You are a PC fanboy. If you weren't you would not keep coming back and defending the PC. So someone disses the PC just let it go. It is not important. It is like you feel insulted because some people hate the PC. Three words. Nobody Fucking Cares.

2. Just because something is superior does not give someone that right to brag about it. It would be like if I bragged about how I am superior because I have more money than you do. Or how because I use Linux I am better than a Windows user. It is stupid and petty. People have different interests, I like both the PC and Consoles. Oh my GOD that must be a crime to you that I like both.

3. Elitism is for the snobs, preps, and pricks out there. Bragging about being superior makes someone a Narcissist. There is such a thing called being humble maybe PC elitist people should start being humble and keep their mouths shut. This includes Console elitist people as well.

4. Everyone else who says consoles are better are just as bad as you. People should accept the fact that some people hate the PC and some people hate the Consoles.

5. Every good PC games are brought to the consoles. KOTOR was for the computer first but then it was brought to the X-BOX. That must say that Bioware and Microsoft saw potential for the X-BOX to release such a great game on it.

No. RIP PC exclusives.
Do you REAAAAAALLY like console adaptations of PC games??? They're generally dumbed down and awful by comparison!
lol, that is what I am trying to say. Xbox and consuls is just watering down good games, and making them terrible.
It has nothing to do with quality. I don't like them, but there's just no money in PC exclusives anymore. The cost that is required to make a good game is too much to risk not making the money back and then some, which means that you have to branch out to consoles. It's a sad thing, but one that we have to adapt to if we're going to be able to make it through the coming years without killing ourselves.
I like both PC and Console games. Just because something is not a PC exclusive does not mean it is a bad game. The Game industry is watered down because of casual gamers, not the consoles.

Quoted for absolute truth on every point. Everybody has their own preference. Let it go, people. Neither consoles nor PC's are going anywhere, not for a long time.

Couldn't agree more. Ever since this generation of shitty consoles took gaming mainstream, QA has gone out the window.

The ONLY time console gaming was relevant was during the original console wars of the SNES/MD era. Anyone who thinks console gaming of this generation is technically superior to the PC experience lacks the technical knowledge to be able to arrive at such a conclusion.

YES, PC gaming has experienced a decline. But that decline is so minuscule in the grand scheme of things it's hardly worth mentioning. Piracy has more to do with it than the 'rise' or 'quality' of console games, so you can take your Metal Gear Solids and Halos and go back to fairytale land. Ignorance is bliss.

Amen.

N.B. I am defining consoles in this instance as devices that connect to your television, NOT handhelds; they are a different kettle of fish and should not be considered a direct competitor to the PC.

I stopped console gaming entirely the moment I started building my own gaming rig.

I have long felt that console games are typically shallower experiences, and target the younger crowd.

PC gaming sure has been dying for a while! Does it have diabetes or a different disease that very slowly kills you? It seems that PC gaming is just as good as it's ever been. I'm not a PC gamer myself (I don't like mouse and keyboard controls and my rig can't run anything newer then CounterStrike: Source) but it seems to be doing as good if not better then console gaming.

PC gaming will not die until people stop playing Starcraft, and in another 30 years when they stop playing Starcraft 2...

If they keep making Starcrafts and Diablos, and WoW and Guild Wars and Everquest (etc. etc. etc.) expansions, PC gaming will live for all eternity!

Who really gives a shit about PC gaming and console gaming? Seriously, you people are no better than the ten year olds who say their toy is better than someone else's toy.

Comparing a PC to a Console is like comparing Mario to Mass Effect. They are two different types of gaming hardware.

The PC elitist and Console elitist is at fault here. This thread has turned into one giant fucking flame war. Someone likes a PC and someone likes a Console. Has it occurred to anyone on this thread that maybe people have opinions.

You people are no better than the Final Fantasy VII fan boys out there. You attack people who have different interests then your own.

I like both the PC and the Consoles. Why? Because they both are fun. I don't let fan boyism or elitism stop me from playing a Console or PC game. My opinion is that they are both fun!

Hey, also consider longevity. Consoles die or go out of date, taking your ability to play your games collection with them. However, just about any PC game will (possibly with a bit of fiddling) run on future PC's. I'd love to replay HL2 when i'm a grandpa!

No, you stupid person. PC gaming is not going out, if anything it's being enhanced by the multiplayer aspect of almost every game.

What can you do on the PS3 and Xbox that you can't do on the PC? Not have 32-64 player servers in multiplayer games or look at porn?
Hot damn, them's some drawbacks, Joe!

People have been saying "pc gaming? its dead" for as long as I can remeber. with mods, the ability to actually FIX you system if it gets messed up, and lately there have been more genuinly good games coming out on pc. Once they forget drm, and go to a straight-to-drive only system, and make it easier than stealing, then most people will forget about piracy. I love steam, I haven't pirated a game that didn't have system-killing drm (and drm CAN bring down systems right quick) in years. Now if it is some old gem that you cannot buy anywhere, and the version isn't going to be xp or vista compatible, then piracey is the only way to go there. But, yeah pc gaming is here to stay for the forseeable haul (next 10-15 years).

Has any one noticed how consoles appear to be evolving closer to PCs? Look at the complexity of the X box 360 it has more bells and whistles than a PC of a decade ago. The look is more of a slowly converging evolution rather than a parallel one, I look forward to the day when a friend can buzz me for an online multilayer session on his X box that I can join in with my PC (ok I know that this is unlikely due to corporate competition) as for the dying out of PC gaming there is to much vested interest in the hardware production for top end PC performance, the tech is then trickled down into the consoles ( not trying to crap on consoles but look at where the advances that made modern consoles possible came from) there is too much at stake from big corporations manufacturing cutting edge hardware for PC gaming to die out easily, you don?t need a souped up video card, 6 gig of ram and a red hot processor for every day use of a PC but to get maximum performance out of a game??.
