Huh, I thought that the whole "3d pig disgusting" thing came about because 2D girls can quite literally be perfect in looks and personality, not because of their lack of bodily functions. I guess you learn something new every day.

I don't see anything wrong with it myself. It's a fetish, a very odd one, but still something that should be respected. If people fully understand what they're missing out on and make that decision anyway, more power to them.

Myself, I admit to being attracted to anime girls and do play dating sims from time to time, but I'd never let it replace the real thing. I view it as idle fantasies, nothing more, nothing less.

OT: I find the idea of exclusively digging 2D/animated persons (ie - you consider ALL real people sexually disgusting) to be laughable. I don't usually troll people who are different than me, but, I find the idea to be comical. Like a clown...a sad clown.

As a mode of sexual fantasy, 2D is a way to see an ideal. Positive traits are exaggerated while unwanted traits are reduced/removed. Noses aren't sexy? Then make the nose as small as possible. I get the idealization.

However, when you fully commit to this idealization to the point where you are only sexually aroused by fake drawings, you've dissociated reality to the point where you have yourself a serious problem that's going to take a toll on your interpersonal relationships. It's like the difference between playing Dungeons and Dragons and actually believing you're a wizard fighting monsters on city streets. There's normative fantasy behaviors. If you take it too far, you've crossed the line to psychosis.

This thread is so depressing. 3D girls, otherwise known as just "girls" are not disgusting.

Only someone with severe social anxiety (like me) would have this problem. No drawing, no matter how perfect, is comparable to an actual living human being.
I may have trouble talking to people in real life, but I'd never delude myself into thinking that somehow staring at jpegs is as good as, let alone better than, a real human relationship.

And honestly, the idea of a person who never burps, farts, poops, or performs any other bodily function seems a little creepy to me. I'd feel like I was dating a robot or something. It's not that I find these flaws charming, it just seems like those are things humans are supposed to do. Not doing them would naturally imply that you aren't a human.

Simple. You usually don't draw average looking women. You draw exceptional looking women. In real life, average looking girls are..well, the average. Maybe there's a creepy fetish thing going in in certain instances, but by and large, the obsession with 2D women is simply because every example you can point to is a drawing that represents women on the farthest, most extreme end of the hotness bell curve.

Personally, I am not one of those people in denial, saying that drawn women can't be hot. That's a silly assertions if you think about it. But of course Id prefer real women. An abstraction of the physically appealing has its charm and its place, but the abstraction becomes meaningless if its not abstracting from a reality. And that reality is something that you have to pay attention to. Also, that reality is the only thing you can actually have sex with. That's a pretty big deal.

I've been thinking for a while about why I think anime characters look so much better, and I think it's the complexion. Like, an anime character doesn't have that slightly-inconsistent skin caused by pigmentation, blood vessels, capillaries, etc. that humans do. I mean, they blush and sometimes have red cheeks, but I'm talking about otherwise. They don't have wrinkles, dimples, inconsistencies, or anything like that, either. It's just so... perfect, you know? It might also be their big heads and expressive eyes, and as much as I hate to admit it, it's simply easier to be attracted to an anime girl, at least for me.

If by perfect you mean proportionally deformed, featureless, flat and samey, then yes. I know exactly what you mean! Though personally, I find that nothing beats the smooth, creamy perfection of a newly created 1024x1024 pixel Photoshop document. Real paper has nothing on it.

Well, perfect wasn't the word that I wanted to use, but I couldn't think of any better ones. I meant more... unblemished. A well-drawn character has absolutely nothing out-of-place that shouldn't be. There's a level of consistency that appeals to me that people don't have. It looks... clean, but not exactly. Like the word "perfect" or "unblemished", which I used earlier, "clean" isn't quite the word I want, but once again, I can't think of anything better to describe it.

I response to the "proportionally deformed" comment, I would like to say that, in context, they fit quite well with their environment. A good drawing looks like it's supposed to; it just so happens that the way it's supposed to look differs from, and is more aesthetically pleasing to me than the real world. "Flat", by definition, is correct, as they are 2-dimensional images. "Samey" and "featureless", though, I would argue with; a well-done character is distinct in style or design. I guess that's a matter of perception, though, y'know?

I cannot argue, however, how nice a clean Photoshop canvas looks, though I use Gimp, personally. It's so nice, crisp and pristine...

The good thing about 2d girls is that they can have unrealistic traits. Body proportions, personalities, biological functions, you name it. A 2d girl can be perfect just for you. Just the right proportions, just the right sexiness/cuteness/whateverness, just the right personality, always loving you no matter what kind of jerk/fatass/etc you are, never having bad smells or the like.

Guys that prefer those girls over real girls are just socially awkward I think. They keep on avoiding real girls, and keep on being drawn to the 2d ones fantasizing about being with them until they get to the point that they actually prefer their little fantasy over the 'harsh' reality.
