Ugh. I thought I heard the last of this on this site years ago in some article. Look, we've all been there, where we're lonely and depressed (and if you haven't, well... uhh... FUCK YOU!) but turning down an actual sentient person for the idea of a person is just downright wrong, not to mention it robs you of many of the simple pleasures of intimacy. Like hugging, kissing, and all of that fun stuff. You know, the stuff that gives you a sense of tactility in the relationship. Not to mention those pics aren't going to have a 100% less chance of saving your ass when you're hurt and/or near death. Yeah, sure, you won't get into fights with pictures (unless you're schizophrenic, in that case you should get help ASAP) but it's surviving and sorting through the hardships that help you grow as a person and strengthen relationships.

2d girls have their own appeal, but imagining them as "angelic creatures without bodily functions" certainly isn't something that ever popped into my head. To me it's more of a "flavor of the week" sort of thing (as objectifying and detached as that sounds).

Also, there's a lot of presumption and judgement happening in this thread, jeez.

So is this the kind of thing we are talking about here although i think this guy is just messing around, at least i hope he is >_>.

Oh crap, and they're those guys who actually call each other "baka" and replace random words with the Japanese translation. There are few things that annoy me more.

I really don't get this, to be honest. To find a girl attractive, surely you must aspire to...erm...
To find someone attractive, you have to want to fuck them? Don't be coy, it's what you're saying. And it's ridiculous.
It's not ridiculous at all. It's biological. The base human desire for sex is what makes people find other people attractive; whether or not the person acts upon their desires for sex is another thing altogether. It's people who won't admit that basic fact who are being coy.

As for the OP, I always thought it was a matter of looks, i.e. they find 2D..."cuter" than 3D, for lack of better word.
It depends on how you're defining attractive here, as it's kind of a vague term. For instance, I consider a young robert redford to be very attractive, but I certainly don't want to fuck a younger version the man. Similarly, there are woman who I consider attractive, but just aren't to my taste. Conversely, if you're defining attractive purely by base sexual desire, then yeah, I'd say it pretty much denotes wanting to have sex with.

To say that attractiveness overall must indicate sexual desire, however, seems a bit sweeping. That seems to be forging into the territory of general aesthetic appreciation, which I'd say doesn't automatically indicate sexual wanting. I don't doubt that the human appreciation of aesthetics, especially in regards to other humans, is closely related to, or even resulted from, sexual functions of the brain. That said, I don't think it's fair to conflate the two.

I've had this argument with friends many, many times. I understand that with 2D pornography, you can get away with a lot more than an actual, living person. Fine. I also understand that you also push the boundaries of what's physically possible, whatever.

But what I can't understand is how people can find attraction with celluloid creatures that have grossly disproportionate facial features. You know what else has no nose and gigantic eyeballs? Stereotypical grey aliens. I cannot fathom how any one person finds that attractive, let alone so many people.

Take those proportions and apply them to real-life. If you've ever seen anyone in those weird suits that make them look like anime characters (not cosplay, I mean with those plastic helmets). Would you find that sexually appealing? Really?

I'm trying to find a picture that can accurate portray what I'm talking about, but all I can find is porn, so there's no way in hell I'm linking that here.

The best I can provide is a 3D model [http://www.wallpaperden.com/pics/cute-3d-anime-girl.jpg] in anime proportions. Again, note the gigantic eyes and completely unnatural head structure.

Something which has been amusing me lately. Guys saying that they prefer 2D girls to their 3D counterparts. Now I'm not having a go, I don't mind that you feel that way, I just want to know why some people consider real life girls pig disgusting. Of course you have to deal with all the smells and fluids of a real girl no matter how much perfume they use, whereas it's completely optional with 2D girls whether or not you want to imagine they have any body fluids or unpleasant smells.

Maybe part of the problem is holding the ideal girl on a pedestal as a completely sanitary, angelic creature who does not poop, does not breathe, does not have any of the human bodily functions that a male has. Are there any more reasons?
I...I don't even. I understand that maybe a man who has struck out enough might give up or maybe a socially awkward guy who has never enjoyed a woman's company might just decide to hide and fap. But my question remains is the actual biological function the culprit or that person's own crippling social anxiety and thus lack of human interaction specifically female interaction?

WELL... I think I would prefer 2D girls over 3D female pigs because ... well, it sounds rather obvious.

I've heard about the thought pattern, but I doubt anyone around this side of the internet will agree to being that way. I don't really want to say no one feels that way and goes to the Escapist, but I'd like to think most of the site goers understand the differences between fictional and nonfictional. Personally I don't see the unattractive nature associated with being human.

I've never heard the term pig-disgusting before though, did you see that somewhere or just make it up?

Ok, I'll admit there's a certain appeal to 2D girls, at least for oggling anyway and maybe doing other things... but to prefer them over the real thing??? What? That's just crazy.

Also:

This seems to apply.
That picture is stupid.

I just thought you should know that.

Not that I agree with people who prefer pornography/fantasy lives with women over the real thing, but I can understand why some men get so caught up in it.

There are those of us out there who, for some reason or another beyond our control or explanation, are shown no interest by real women. At all. Ever. They treat us like ghosts.

I know that's the reason I decided to be bisexual. So for others for whom that is not an option, I can understand why they make the choices they make.

Look, I understand that if in your personal experience "attraction" is based solely on sexual desire then you might be left with that impression, but it's important to note that our instinctive desires do not necessarily match our conscious desires. By your logic, a person with no interest in sex whatsoever cannot be attracted to another. This is obviously untrue, and as before, ridiculous.

This doesn't surprise me all that much. Real people can often be shallow and vapid, capable of reaching harrowing depths of cruelty. They've probably experienced those aspects of human behaviour in the past and thought it wasn't worth it. I still don't understand why people who prefer 2D go for the exaggerated features of anime characters, but whatevs. Each to their own.

P.S. What a novel title.

Oh, this originated on 4chan? Why on earth am I not surprised..

I like 3D girls, they are the best. Well, it's just one 3D girl now, and I couldn't be happier with that.

I thought you meant 2D digital women vs 3D digital women, but apparently you mean digital women vs real women.

Naw, I think it's a perfect test.
The first thing I saw was the fleshy bits tucked in on the left. Anyone that focused in on the right side first might have an issue they need sorted out.

3DPD is the idea that real-life can never measure up to fictional or artistic portrayals of human beings.

To summarize: Real-life sucks (both visually and socially), Fantasy is unrealistically perfect but pleasurable (though lacking any social interaction). For anons who enjoy anime and are misanthropes, it's merely a mindset that you can take with tongue-in-cheek and mild seriousness.

has this been posted yet?
OT
it's a term used by guys that want a perfect girl that loves her BF unconditionally. The thing is that real people have a thing called "free will"
