What kind of company would sell kids robots that can overpower two healthy strong men? I mean, seriously. What legitimate need would have that kid for such power from its playtoy?

Wow I loved that but when I saw the robot "recycled" that kid I kinda died inside not because I felt bad for the kid it's just the concept of it just made my stomach churn.

That was a great concept, but I just couldn't take it seriously. When Blinky finally snapped, it was too over the top and felt like the filmmakers were trying to hard to make him scary, which just ended up making the whole thing hilariously cartoonish to me.

Really liked it, but the meatbalsl scene should have been expanded imo.
What was there to explain? The mother in sarcasm told her son that if he didn't behave she'd have Blinky clean and cook HIM for dinner. Now when the malfunction started he started repeating his previous orders and hers happened to slip in there before he was restarted.

Then at the dinner table he explained it quite simply.

Mom:"Where's Alex?"
Blinky:"He's here. I clean and cooked him for dinner. Did I do good?"

See? Easy explanation......Did I do good? *Smiles creepily*
I meant the parent's reactions to finding out they'd jsut eaten their son wasn't really dwelled on, I didn't need it explaining.

Yeah sorry about that. Someone already pointed out my misreading. But I agree, you would be able to get more of an emotional impact if they focussed a bit more on their reaction.

the kids acting was bad. Other than that good stuff. (although i wouldn't have done the final scene like that. I would have ended on the door shutting myself.
I would have done what you said but take it a bit further by having the camera zoom out to incorporate the whole house in the shot, then have the sound of the turkey carver go off and have blood splatter on the window. Then it would cut to black and have Blinky say in a sort of glitchy fashion "Hi, I'm Blinky. And I just want to be your friend." Then cut to credits.

I feel like I've seen something like this before. It came out some 20 years ago, and was a robot that looked a lot like the Nintendo (NES) buddy robot, and Johnny 5. I long ago forgot what it was called, but it was a horror flick with a robot on a murder spree too. Very disturbing.

Why isn't he programmed with Asimov's laws?!?! oh of all the humanity why?! XD

note to self: install paradox-absorbing crumple zones on all robots so they don't crash and wake up misinterpreting commands.
Honestly that was my first thought, it's such a well know piece of science fiction at this point that I practically see it as a plot hole; No one would build a household robot with the ability to kill.

Also the kid cammanded him to kill people...where was the cammand to turn him into meat balls exactly? It really felt like something that was forced in there.

I enjoyed it, the direction was good and the robots really look like something that we'll possibley see in households 20 or so years down the line, but it had some problems.
Remember when the mother shouts to her son that he better make Blinky work again, or she's gonna cook HIM (the son) for dinner? Yeah, I think Blinky caught a part of that conversation.

That may be the first good horror film I've seen in a LONG time. It's so delightfully creepy and disturbingly feasible, and (unlike a lot of modern films) gets by with a rather minimal display of actual violence--on par with the amount seen in films like Psycho.

I'm impressed. That was 12 minutes well spent, and I agree with all the other people who have said that they'd love to see it as a feature film. Granted, it would need a few more ideas kicking around to justify being 10 times longer, but it's so well done that I'd love to see it tried.
