Um...Sorry, but the pay off kind of sucked. After a great film, I was expecting something a little more subtle then having the robot actually come out and SAY exactly what he'd done. It would have been better if it had just been heavily implied. Also, the whole spinning head/cutting someone up had the same problem.

Side Note: Anyone else think Cartman(from South Park, just to clarify) was a huge inspiration for Blinky? I mean, he kind of looks and sounds like Cartman, and there's been episodes where (1) Cartman pretended to be a "best friend robot" to play a prank on another kid, and (2) Where he killed someone's parents and tricked the kid into eating them. Yes, really.

Had me gripped right 'till the end, though i really don't see how they could have ended it in a way that would be as good as the rest. I don't think this could be made into a very good feature length film, but as a short it's perfect. You just feel sorry for the damn thing, even at the end.

holy crap! the robot KILLED THE DOG! I actually feel sorry for her/him (not for the kid he was just a brat)
also what happened to the first rule of robotics?
1. a robot may never harm/bring harm to a human being?

I'm not sure if Blinky can finish the task of killing everyone, but he'll sure as hell will try.

That's why Asimov's 3 laws of Robotics are very important. I would never buy a robot that doesn't have them installed.

....Ok. Thank you for not making me being able to sleep tonight.

OT: That was a really good short movie.

That was thoroughly enjoyable. I liked the moral of the story too.

To avoid global annihilation at the hands of robots, don't give one to a douchebag child.

That looked incredibly cheesey, but I have to say, it was well put together.

I actually felt pretty bad for the robot after a while.
Still, when he started glitching up it went from adorable to creepy.

Ohh yeah, I forgot she said something about cleaning the boy and cooking him for dinner. That makes more sense now. Creepy.

Damn, that was awesome. I completely forgot I have to do laundry...so damn you and thank you, Logan!
Blinky!, go wash my clothes!

Blinky: No problem!, you want me to wash these too? *holds shirts soaked in blood*

OT: That was simply amazing!, cute and creepy all at the same time. Poor Blinky, that kid was an asshole and had it coming. That movie also has my vote to become a full lenght film.

Good short film! But with the overall size and speed of Blinky I couldn't see him surviving a murderous rampage through the city for very long. Especially if the government has 'War Machines' to combat the 'Blinky Threat'.

P.S. Did anyone else notice the dog's Frisbee was a tie-dyed Discraft midrange disc golf disc. It had the word LOVE dyed in between what looked like a Yin and a Yang symbol!

Also, since somebody has to point it out...
Have those designers never heard of the Three Laws of Robotics?

You know I expected this to be more of a gore fest, from the description. I'm not usually too affected by gore, but . . . that meatball bit made me want to gag. I do think that the little gore scene at the end might have been unneccessary, but it probably tied the whole film together. It probably wouldn't have had the same vivid impact if it had just ended with "Did I do good?" after the parents realize what he's done.

Awesome, awesome movie. Really realistic of something that could happen in the near future, if a tool like that got into the hands of a kid.

If I ever hear someone tell me "No Problem" in that chipper robot voice I might have a panic attack and run into another room and lock the door behind me. That robot was creepy.

If only the manufacturers thought of implementing Asimov's Three Laws of robotics :(

Great short loved Blinky's character design - So cute, yet so deadly :)))

Hell of a short. I'd argue that the final shot undoes the story's subtly charm, but's it's exceptional nonetheless.

A very nice shot film and work of cinematography. The only problem I have with it is that robots do not work that way but its a film, so suspension of disbelief.

Truly terrifying, although the last scene felt a bit too over the top. It would have been better to finish at the door shutting.
Also, the tagline under the news clip in the intro "global warming making beaches sexier" is awesome.
