That's pretty much a given, what with Disney releasing at least one new Star Wars film per year ad infinitum. For now I'm just going to enjoy the ride while it's still going strong.Johnnythepush said:I think that Disney are going to milk star wars for all its worth till everyone hates it. Oh fuck.
Considering the EU and videogames etc already had about 3-4 stories of the stealing of the deaths star plans... kinda assumed they'd toss them all and go for a new route.Wuvlycuddles said:So that's it I guess.... no hope for Kyle Katarn.... that's kinda depressing
A bunch of the EU stuff is still canon, at least in the broad strokes. The Sith Wars from the Old Republic games are canon, for example (Though the specific events are not), as are a bunch of the old Sith that are only mentioned in books. The Clone Wars series also adapted and included a lot of the EU books, dragging them into canon.BloatedGuppy said:As someone who almost cringed themselves into a coma watching GoT, wouldn't watching someone do a ham fisted job of "adapting" favored material actually be worse than simply watching them disregard it entirely?IOwnTheSpire said:Though many fans hope they bring stuff back in. Rumors say Thrawn will appear in Rebels. Of course, it would be a different Thrawn, but still.
Well... Quite a few people, actually. Just nobody who had any clout in making the films. For years I've heard a lot of fans talking about how cool it would be to have a story in this setting that just focused on ordinary Rebels, Imperials, etc, without all those flashy Force users.undeadsuitor said:Whaaaaaaaaaaat? Holy shit that looks good.
Who knew the problem with star wars movies was jedi and sith all along
Kyle Katarn might actually be in it.spartandude said:However I am hoping for Kyle Katarn to be in this as he as amazing.
Angry Joe actually mentioned something quite hopeful for the Kyle Katarn theory. The Rebel agent who recruited Kyle Katarn was named Jan Ors, which is not very far from Jyn Orso.Dirty Hipsters said:Kyle Katarn might actually be in it.spartandude said:However I am hoping for Kyle Katarn to be in this as he as amazing.
Speculation is that might be him at 26 seconds in, the scruffy guy with the jacket.
Forest Whitaker is the only thing about the trailer that makes me really nervous. I don't hate him, but I don't like him either.Dirty Hipsters said:Anyway, looks pretty good...except for Forest Whitaker who gives me Battlefield Earth flashbacks.
I think he's probably Tarkin with a more ornate outfit and and any discrepancies involving the rank insignia are either a costuming error or the production staff not giving a damn about those kinds of details. Wouldn't be the first time, considering in Return of the Jedi all the Imperials held the rank of Commander apparently if you go by the costuming.AccursedTheory said:Forest Whitaker is the only thing about the trailer that makes me really nervous. On an unrelated note, does anyone have any guess as to who this is?

I thought he was Tarkin for a moment, but I checked the rank and he's an Admiral, not a Moff. IMDB has nothing. Any thoughts? He may be someone mentioned in the Tarkin novel, but I'm hoping I don't have to skim the whole novel to find out.
