Two seconds later, a young, enthusiastic Hazy was brained by a Yao Guai on a flying unicycle.

Well, that was pretty much my experience.
A Yau Guai?

At level 2?

Dude, talk about getting unlucky.

Okay, for one, I am amazed that you find over-the-top FF attacks "jaw dropping." I have always thought of them as "comically rediculous."

My favorite RPG moments have always been sheer exploration. Mountain vistas in Oblivion, riding across deserts in WoW (way before I could handle the enemies there), looking out over massive cliffsides in Mass Effect (then sniping biotches in low gravity), coming across some random hideout in Fallout 3 that turns out to be a huge questline. Immersion is everything for me in an RPG.

Also, amazed no one has said "the twist in Knights of the Old Republic," cause my jaw definitely dropped for that one.

Anyone would have examples from dragon:age origins?I heard it was a good game.
I'll oblige you.

1) The Battle for Ostagar. Sure, the cinematic had been used in trailers before, but experiencing the thrill of that battle firsthand was very cool.

2) The fight against the High Dragon. Wow. I mean...wow. Dragons have been included in BioWare games since the beginning, but this was the first time one really behaved the way you'd expect a dragon to behave: by flying, biting, kicking out, and of course breathing fire. And the finishing moves...just awesome. Beating this thing really makes you feel like a hero.

3) The Broodmother. That section still gives me the creeps.

I had heard about the sniper rifle in the hollowed out rock on the East(?) side of Megaton, which peaked my interests.

What I had not heard, however, is that the area is plagued by mole rats and a certain Yao Guai.

Neverwinter Nights 2, Jerro Haven plot and animations.

Warlock: "This entire sanctuary is my weapon! All who are trapped here fuel my power! I can harness the energies of this place, bind them to me! I can summon flame from the walls, turn the air in your lungs to fire! And you...You are nothing more than leaves caught in a storm! Did you really think you could face me here and survive?"

Warlock: "You... Answer me! How was this done? You see plots within plots, I command you to answer me!"

Demon:" Of all the circles and wheels, plots and deceptions... you still have the audacity to blame me for what your blindness has wrought. I could not have orchestrated such a tragedy as has befallen you, little wizard. I admit a trace of envy winds its way around my heart. Perhaps we shall speak of it in a time not far from now when you burn upon my fires. But for now... go to the last and see the truth for what it is."

"Mephasm!"

--

But this I loved the most :)

Mephasm: "What you have done is brave but foolish, Shandra Jerro."

Warlock appears. " You, girl! You did this!"

Shandra: "My friends - are they"

Warlock: "Your friends live. But you will not. You destroyed my summoning circles!"

Casts a spell, hits Shandra.

"You set the deadliest creatures in the Lower Realms free!"

Another spell.

"You have weakened me and in so doing earned death!"

A third spell.

Shandra: "I know grandfather. I'm sorry..." Dies.

Warlock:"'Grandfather!?' What is this"

Mephasm: "It is the truth, Ammon. And by such truths is one damned."

Ammon Jerro, the Warlock:(desperately, unbelieving) "I have no kin! All were killed in the war against the King of Shadows! It's not possible!"

Mephasm: "Blood finds a way, Ammon. Always."

Ammon:"You lie!"

Mephasm: "You know only Jerro blood could have broken the circles in this haven. As her blood has now broken mine. There are Laws, Jerro. And when one carries such laws too far, they will take you where I go now." Leaves via a portal to the Nine Hells Of Baator, home of devils.

You think that's bad? At level 2 I encounter a Deathclaw outside the Super Duper Mart.

I managed to kill it though.
How did you manage to do that.
I was walking around minding my own busness when i see a few mole rats running away from something i couldnt see. I take a few pot shots at them, then suddenly a big.... thing leapt from nowhere and wasted all of the mole rats before shifting its attention to me, a level 5 holding an assault rifle that was in desperate need of both ammo and repair... as well as a new pair of pants. A one hit death ensued, and now i dont go that way anymore. Although I have run into other deathclaws, but have been able to sneak before they noticed me. Yea, I realy dont like deathclaws.

The first time I saw this, it just blew me away. I had to start the game all over again so I could watch it some more.

Yeah, that same thing happened to my friend. He was like level 3 or 4, going to the Super-Super Mart. When he got there, he saw a few wastelanders waiting outside as he went in the store. When he came back out, the wastelanders were dead. He thought it was weird, and then turned the corner to see a Deathclaw. He killed it, using basically all of his ammo.

I'm lucky. I killed one Deathclaw early in the game before it noticed me, and then didn't have to fight one again until I was level 15.

That picture has made me want to start a new game.

I fear it wont be the same the second time though...
It'll never have the same sense of 'Holy Shit'... but I've done 4 playthroughs and loved every second.

Pick skills you didn't specialise in before, choose a different playstyle, visit different areas... always new ways to play F3!

Go on... you know you want to...
