Can anyone suggest a recent RPG (not a JRPG or Hack 'n' Slash affair) that isn't made by one of these three? I've just realised I genuinely can't think of any besides The Witcher, and I'd vaguely like one to play.
Demon's Souls is actually Japanese although it doesn't play that way. It's made by ATLUS.voetballeeuw said:Demon's Souls on the PS3, maybe? I didn't play it, but you may like it.
I believe the first 2 games are on PC, and I know Fable 3 is coming to PC in a couple months. However, outside that I can't think of any non-Bethesda/BioWare/Obsidian WRPGs. They've pretty much been the dominant forces in that genre for quite some time.YawningAngel said:I don't own an Xbox though![]()
Then truly, play JRPGs. RPGs are not the biggest genre anymore except in Japan. The US has few developers with lots of RPG elements. Steam seemed to have a bunch of stuff I hadn't heard of if your a PC gamer, so you can search there.YawningAngel said:I don't MIND those games (I've played and liked them all), I just came to the realisation that every western RPG ever had been made by them and wanted to broaden my horizons somewhat.
Also, avoid Gothic 4. I've heard unanimously that it's either mediocre or awful.YawningAngel said:So Two Worlds and Risen/Gothic. OK, sounds good.
Winter Voices is a French one, you might want to give it a go.YawningAngel said:So Two Worlds and Risen/Gothic. OK, sounds good.
