RROD (Red Ring of Death) Good or Bad thing?

I think RRoD is a good thing based on the fact you get a new Xbox at the end of it

I got RROD on my PC, thanks to me downloading the LIVE dealie.
But it's not like the 360. My ring is more of an orange color.

But it's a bad thing.

Microsoft is a pretty good software company, but i dont think a single physical part in my computer was built by microsoft

Microsoft is a pretty good software company, but i dont think they made a single piece of hardware in my computer

I'd say do what my mate did, buy a preowned 360 premium for cheap; knowing that it will RROD soon enough send it off to MS and get a free new replacement, which he did got a brand new Falcon out of it.

Yes, RROD is a bad thing and even worse and more annoying is the E74 error which is what I got.

I was happy when mine got RROD because the disc drive was faulty and my discs weren't reading/were getting scratched, because of the double faults I got sent a brand new one rather than a refurbished one for free.

That's why I thought it was a good thing. My Xbox had the exact same problems as yours, so I was happy when I got a new Xbox instead of that old piece of crap. I haven't had a hardware related problem with my Xbox 360 since then.

When mine broke, I was in the middle of the hardest dungeon in Lost Odyssey, and towards the end of the game overall as well (only two dungeons left, if the room with the final two bosses counts as a dungeon). That's the longest it's ever taken me to finish the final two levels in a game. =P

Mine kept overheating after 5 minutes use, so I sent it off to be repaired, it got a new casing (Which was great, as mine was scratched and dirty), and I got a month free xbox live.

i dont own a 360 but my brother does so whenever he gets redring it gives me endless joy and makes me feel alot better about buying a ps3
