I once had sex with a really really hot chick, now I can't go back to the average mediocre chicks.

Nah, I'm kidding, forever alone.

But, there is this mod for mount and blade called "Sword of Damocles" and it's the best fucking mod ever. I just couldn't go back to any other mod.

I haven't had it happen in that order very often, but Mirror's Edge has killed most FPS games for me, except for Unreal Tournament. I expect to be able to move around the environment more naturally (I actually wanted it since Doom didn't let you climb over something knee high, but was conditioned to accept it) now that I've been able to experience it.

Persona 3 has killed most RPG experiences for me, it's just leagues ahead of anything else.

For the space sim genre though, Escape Velocity is what did it. I played Escape Velocity first, even though the genre apparently started with Elite. EV is still the best example of the genre, with games released more than a decade after still not being as good. EV at least lets you solve problems if you accidentally shoot someone you didn't intend to, you can negotiate. You can string together multiple missions to optimse the money you earn (every other example of the genre only lets you take one mission at a time, or in the case of Wing Commander: Privateer only lets you take up to 3 missions if you can finish them without landing in between).

I wasn't into RPGs at all. Then I stumbled upon Fallout 1.

It was like first-time sex. I had no idea what I was doing, but it was exciting and after I finished I knew I liked it and want more of it.

So I picked up Fallout 2 and it was even better - I more or less knew what I was doing and took enough time to enjoy myself. It was awesome.

And then nothing for a long while.. And out came Fallout 3. It was like having sex while drunk that average-looking (not counting tons of makeup) but dumb as a rock girl that constantly spouts "LIKE OH MY GOD TOTALLY" and just happens to be a total slut.

...Oh fuck. I may have accidentally ruined my sex life forever.

OT: I can't enjoy laughing at terrible fan-fiction anymore cause it doesn't get any more hilarious than My Immortal.

Does that mean fallout 3 was awesome?

I played San Andreas before any of the other (3D) GTA games. They did not measure up.

Even playing Saints Row 2 - much more entertaining game, but oh how I miss the tightness of SA's driving (though that's probably down to the SR2 pc port being absolutely awful.)

[Intelligence 3/5] Does that mean fallout 3 was awesome?
[FAILURE] No, it was a poor mess that lacked everything I loved about the previous Fallout games.

I never played the original fallout games, and I loved fallout 3. Are you disliking not for what it is, but for what you wanted it to be?

Both.

To use an analogy you'll "get" - you walk into a McDonalds and see a huge ad for Big Mac Extra. You buy it and it turns out the two hamburger patties are made of soy.

That's what I had with Fallout 3.Fallout 2 had bad graphics even for it's time but great writing, great dialogs, great storyline. It was a labor of love and it showed. I replayed the game recently, after playing Fallout 3 and NV in fact and only now did I catch a lot of the subtle things I missed previously. I enjoyed it more than F3.

Apart from Fallout 3 not really being a Fallout game and more of a post-apo oblivion I didn't like the game itself. Then again I simply didn't like oblivion when it came out - long before any mention of Fallout 3. I found the world bland, full of paper cut-outs. I didn't like Bethesda's style then, I don't like it now.

Even if you tried Old World Blues first, that doesn't mean you won't enjoy Dead Money and Honest Hearts.

If you enjoy survival horror, you could get a good kick out of Dead Money.

And Honest Hearts. Well, I prefer to call it Joshua Graham: New Joshua Graham, Honest Joshua Graham.

*Scratches head*

I want to give a proper response, but...Mothership Zeta, the best DLC?

I...I, I just don't get it, you've played all of them right, and MZ was the best?

*Slaps self*

Anyway, personally I don't think this has ever happened to me, I tend to play things in order and playing a sequel doesn't really ruin the game sbefore for me.

I guess maybe I preferred Jak 2/3/X compared to the first one because Jak talked and I played Jak 3 first, but other than that I can't think of anything else.

We'll have to agree to disagree then, our tastes are simply different. I love both Oblivion and FO3. Sure, they had their issues, Oblivion needed a much wider voice acting cast (running joke is that they blew their whole budget on Patrick Stewart). Fallout 3 could stand to be a lot less buggy as well. Seems they fixed that, I'm running into zero problems on the PC version of New Vegas. A few more face models would help . . how many freakin' women look identical to Sarah Lyons?!?!

Okay, [/rant].

Indeed. Best is subjective. Which is a better game - Sudoku or Tic Tac Toe?

The answer is - it depends.

I was ruined by playing Dragon Age: Origins/Awakening before DA2 :(

/Rant
DA2 is just ME in a different setting. It's so annoying because what I wanted was a slightly more hardcore experience compared to ME and there is also the fact that I really don't like the BLATANT use of recycling the areas I mean they didn't even change the minimap.

Now every time I hear the word streamline i die a little inside :(

I first started watching WWE back in 2007, when it was TV-14, but now its all kiddie crap. It's still WWE and still wrestling, but it was way better when it was TV-14.

Assassin's creed 2 ruined brotherhood for me. I'd probably of found AC:B good, but I really didn't like it because everything I did I thought, "AC2 did this so much better".

Mass Effect 2 has ruined the original for me. I just can't replay it anymore =(.

As for the Falllout DLC, you may be OK. Old World Blue seems to be everyones favourite, but you may really enjoy either Dead Money or Honest Hearts (very few people seem to like them both). I loved the survival horror slant of Dead Money and thought it was an awesome DLC. Honest Hearts, as beautiful as the environment was and as scene stealing as Joshua Graham was, felt quite short and I wasn't that interested in the quests (which were mostly fetch 10 spoons/kill 10 pigs quests).

Getting an N64 with Goldeneye was possibly not the best move. Everything else just seemed rather dull after that.
