Don't get in the way of my TV and DO NOT advise me on things I should or should'nt have done.
This. I had my mom advising over my shoulder the first time I played Uncharted.
"Snap that guys neck!" "No mom, I have plenty of pistol ammo, I don't need to save it""Should you climb that tree?" "No, mom, it's just a tree, Drake can't climb trees."

And people asking what I'm doing.
I once had my sister ask me that during the final boss of FF13.
Yeah...

I tend to like people watching me play video games, especially when I it seems like I could get them interested enough to buy it. That's when I talk about the game, and if they don't like my explanation, generally they stop watching and go away.

If they are interested, I explain more and show them the cool features said game has.

The only rule I really have is that the other person must talk. Yes I know that they may be so engrossed in the game that they just want to watch, or they think they may be annoying me, but it makes me feel like a dick if I'm sitting there and they're just watching.

It depends on the person. My dad will get incredibly interested in whatever I'm playing, but my mom, grandma and most of my other family will judge me based on what I'm playing, which is annoying as hell. Basically, my only rule is if you're going to watch, don't complain.

I always feel pretty bad when someone's watching me game. The human in me wants to try to get them involved in some way. The gamer in me doesn't want to let go of that controller until I'm well and truly done.

And I'm pretty sure I get worse when someone's watching me. I used to play Halo 3 online a lot. I was always doing pretty well during the day, getting MVP, etc, time after time, when everyone was at school. Then my friends would get home and join me on Xbox Live. That's when everything fell apart.
