Oh calm down.

New York gets blown to shit countless times in games, you don't see them complaining about it. Or much people complaining about Washington getting fucked in Modern Warfare 2. The city, Washington. Not the person. If it was the person then yeah, complaints would probably be had. Especially if it was full on graphic- you know what? I'll just stop here.

Though having so many games featuring the Middle-East lately... it is getting pretty old. And I suppose people would flip their shit if you played the attackers attacking the US instead of the defenders.
You're not taking it in the right context.

Which country has a huge military-industrial complex? I'll give you a hint, it's not Iran.
And how much of a military-industrial complex does Sweden have in comparison to Iran?

You are comparing Iran to Sweden here, right?

lol the funniest thing about this whole thing is that no one plays Battlefield 3 for the fricking single player. and if one did they definitely would want to have those hours back. Yes i am bitter.

Cod Campaign shits over BF3.
Oh my goodness! I cannot agree more. I played the BF3 campaign and only beat it out of sheer willpower. Not out of wanting to see how the story played out. I did like Bf3's multiplayer more though.

Know what will really piss me off about this? When the White House or some loud mouth Congressman actually reacts to it like Iran wants. If they really want to make Iran feel like it isn't the center of the Middle East, then there best not be anybody in Washington or from Fox News saying a word when the game gets released. Israel can cry all it wants, that won't matter.
The trouble is, Fox and some loud mouth Congressman will speak up about this, and Ayatollah and President will feel justified in anything they do to try to egg the US on.
I have nothing against Iran making a game about some attack on Tel Aviv. Frankly the government of Israel has it coming. But the underlying attempt might actually do its purpose, whatever format or quality the game is.
(And unless they are full of vaporware, there are game companies in Iran that do produce quality games. But as was stated before, most likely this one will be so rushed through it will have more bugs than an average Bethesda release.)

It remains to be seen what happens from this.

And in other news a completely moronic fanatic says something completely fanatically moronic.

Is it weird that I read that in Archer's voice?

And that it sounded amaaazing?

OT: Iran, being crazy.

Hell, I wouldn't buy it but I'd play it. If games are really art, then we have to accept other viewpoints as valid in the medium. Frankly, since Iran is usually the badguy in games it'd be fascinating to see one from their viewpoint. I really hope it gets made and gets an English voiceover.

Either that or because Infinity Ward beat them to the punch.

Eh, this game is going to be crappier than something made by PETA.

Which is to say, the subject matter in question is irrelevant.

So irrelevant, in fact, that if it were a good game, I'd totally play "holocaust manager 2020"

Wouldn't that just be ironic "We made a game to piss of America, but forgot to make it in English, so no American can play it."

Honestly though I agree with you, if it does get made, I'll probably pick it up, just like how I'm totally excited for that Vietnamese shooter coming out, because it lets you see the conflict from the other side.

Granted the fact that the Iran one is being made by a State run company working towards a propagandist agenda, and so gameplay, narrative, and 'fun' will take a backseat; I'm predicting the game to be absolute crap, but who knows, the gaming world has had bigger surprises.

BF2 was "Iran-inspired".
Well actually you know...no. There were also maps that took place in both China and the US. Are we talking about that though? Is China throwing a shitfit over that?

You do realize we are going to war with Iran, don't you? Do you not read any news on the subject. I already explained it in my op. America would throw a "shitfit" too if they were surrounded by about 100 military bases, and Canada and Mexico were occupied. Because that's the reverse scenario.

Are you not able to put it into perspective here. All the rhetoric out of the west has been about future conflict with Iran.

As for the commenter about "BF3 is Swedish". Come on man, who funded the game? Use your head people, you can't be serious.

All of you are taking the piss, and/or just willfully ignorant about the whole situation. It's kind of shocking.

This so much.

Its disgusting how self rightous the west acts.

Depicting the middle east (or just the east in general) as a video game enemy over and over again is all mighty fine and just "fictional fun", but once the roles are reversed then its all disgusting propaganda. This Western arrogance at its worst.
Tell me about it. My problem isn't with the fact that there are a metric-F-ton of war games/media in the middle-east. The problem stems from the fact of how entrenched we are in that entire area. I'm talking hundreds of bases here, and that is not counting the jump-off points in Europe and abroad. We use Germany as the main 'in-between' hospital for troops in Iraq and Afghan, for instance.

So basically, we're doing this war for real. Our leaders talk about it all the time, they are constantly threatening, alluding to the fact, and they are already prepared for it. Then I hear the knuckledraggers say stuff like, "Well Iran started it."

What is Iran going to start? Iran isn't going to war. You're telling me their strategy is to get America to attack them? Give me a break, it's time to pop that paradigm bubble. The "nuclear weapons" insanity is just as bad. Do people think their "super secret strategy of evil" is to develop nuclear weapons? This isn't a Bond movie, and the Shah doesn't have a Secret Moon-Base either. Don't you think.. just maybe.. that if they really wanted nukes, they could just take one from Russia's rogue stockpile, of which there are thousands? They could get one from China, or Pakistan, or even India if they want to be ballsy.

Iran hasn't even had a conflict since the last "Iraq/Iran" war, and the Pahlavi era skirmishes in the 70's. America has had 70+ conflicts (I don't know the real number, but it's a lot, and I'm not going to fact check over a hundred conflicts) and has actually used nuclear weapons, the only country to do so on the planet, and they even used it to kill civilians.

From an Iranian's perspective, the US and it's "coalition" are scattered across the entire world, and have thousands of troops around it's borders. Not only that, but they look and see that all the citizens are playing "Iran War Simulators". Gee, that's perfectly normal, and if any Iranian says a single word, then THEY'RE EVIL AND TRYING TO START A WAR.

The paradigm, it hurts. It's called misdirection, poor-man's magic, and you are being played.

Hey you know all those people that were tired of games in vietnam and about WWII and bitched about boring modern day shooters?

They can now be quiet and go play this game. THANK YOU IRAN!
...yeah i didn't think I'd ever say that.....
I don´t want to be an army guy that attacks Israel, I want to attack America :(

OT: This is stupid, it is just a game, doing a game about attacking Israel will not change BF3 (a game made by a swedish company), at all.
Don´t think this game will be banned at all if it gets released.
Sounds like a giant trolling done by Iran.

I'd play it, taking on mooks with high end gear with nothing but a Kalashnikov and SCUD support would be more of a challenge at least.

Yeah... I have no idea what Iran has.

HAHAHA! Like anyone in America is going to care about a game set in Tel Aviv! How stupid! And how the hell do they think that anyone in the west cares that they are upset about the setting of Battlefield! No-one cares if you are upset! The game is making loads and loads of money. That draws a lot more attention that your feelings Iran!
