Kinect is a good peripheral, why are people bitching?
It would make the hacking bits a lot more interresting. Would make planet scanning less boring as well. I see a lot of interesting ways to implement it in a good way. To bad i lack the space to have kinect.

And why people ***** because they are a whiny bunch that when not catering 100% to their needs it will never be any good (even if the game if good)

2 Word for you all: Galaxy Map.

Remember Iron Man and his computer? I think that could be pretty swell!

Side note: PC gamer rage mode activate!

Ah EA... always finding someway to &#%$ up the Mass Effect games

First it was the Mako in ME
EA had nothing to do with the original Mass Effect. It was published by Microsoft.

Kinect + Mass Effect 3 Romance =..... Win?

But in all seriousness, i don't like this idea one bit. Then again, I was always going to get it for the PC. I just hope it does not affect the game much...

That's fucking impossible. For a game that's coming out on the PC and PS3, I sincerely doubt that this will ever see the light of day. Hopefully it won't. Although I have to admit. That box-art looks fucking AWESOME.

Well after what they did to Dragon Age 2, looks like I won't be buying mass effect 3 either.

All things considered though, a motion based shooter done right sounds like a whole lot of fun to me, though I suspect that it will be some years before we see a real gem come to fruition.
It was called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metroid_Prime_3:_Corruption

I don't know why other shooters on wii always sucked when perfect examples were out there...
Then again there might be more, I stopped trying to play them.
Try Resident Evil 4 for Wii. That actually (in my opinion) improved the controls a lot.

OT: I can't see this working out that well... maybe just because I don't have that much insight in how Kinect works at all. I never bothered to get it since I would have to knock down a wall and play it in my neighbour's room. Could be awesome, could be a tragedy.

And this is why I stick to my motion control free PC.

And that boxart is very bland and unimpressive.

Isn't this what gamers are screaming for, innovation? You console guys are starting to look more and more like jaded PC gamers when their core IP's got changed. Screw you guys who don't like this I would rather them try something and fail than keep coming out with the same old garbage. And its not like it is required to play the game anyways.

Oh god, please no, don't waste BioWare's development time with such trivial matters. Kinect is not good for a single player RPG, I don't like to move when I play Mass Effect, much less jump around like a jack ass.

Here is what came into my mind when I read the title of the article http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umDr0mPuyQc&NR=1
I agree with you completely. Even about the Office video, lol... I want Kinect to stay away from my Mass Effect game entirely.

Ah, also a good example. I played both GC and wii versions of that great game and wow. I could never go back. Im not a fan of the duel stick shooter in any case. I have gotten fine with it over the years. But mouse and keyboard fllowed by proper motion controls are better imho

...the article implied this may be reason for the games delay. Hense pissed fans. Nobod would care either way otherwise. Your misunderstanding.

My initial reaction is that some people are just lazy and do not want to have to get up and move around. However, I think gamers who are very sensitive about their hobby, people who?s parents called it a waste of time and told them to go outside, and who were called lazy, perhaps fat and useless by their peers, get very defensive at the suggestion by the games industry that they should do something which has negative connotations for them.

I think these gamers view the casual consumer of games as a threat, and fear that no more games which they grew up on and love will be produced. As a result, they attack anything and everything related to casual gaming, and insult the majority of the population because they know the traditional gamer is in the minority and that the game companies do not need gaming traditionalists to make a profit. So this creates a great deal of fear and animosity towards new things and casual games. Anything popular is viewed as a threat to gaming, and brutally attacked (such as Call of Duty).Kinect is viewed as Microsoft?s answer to the Wii, and the Wii has no hardcore, traditional games, and so a hardcore game joining hands with Kinect is viewed as an extreme threat.

I think the anger is also because Bioware is seen as one of, or the strongest, root of RPG traditional gaming, the one place where ?we,? the traditional gamers can go regardless of what the rest of the world is doing. For this reason, Bioware joining hands with Kinect is viewed as a major assault on hardcore gaming, or even the beginning of the end. This combined with Bioware making a draw prize which was only available in the majority of the United States and Bioware being bought by EA, creates the perception that this is the beginning of the end, or even that hardcore gaming is already over, and ?we? have already lost to the casual masses.

All that from being able to stand up, have a lot of fun getting exercise, while saving the galaxy from the Reapers. That's human nature when we feel threatened. I?ve been waiting for this for half my life. Thank you Bioware! Please DO NOT make the controls finicky and Wii like. As for the delay, DEFINITELY worth it if it works well.

I would be interested to see how it works, but i dont have a 360 so it wont affect me.

Also, i still fail to see what was so bad about DA2, i played it through like 3 times, it was fun, i bought into the story, that guy (you know who) was a bit too intense but i still enjoyed it. I think the biggest problem people had was that it was so different from the first, but who cares.

I also liked ME2, and to clarify, i also have loved most other Bioware RPG's in the past, DA:O was one of my favorite games ever.

Seriously though, it could go either way, and the people who are raging about something that hasn't even happened yet, and according to a lot of the real haters they aren't going to buy it anyway, everyone just needs to chill the fuck out.

It is reactions like this that make outside people think that gamers are immature and have entitlement issues
