Well I'm sure this isn't a surprise, but it does have a lot of competition this fall.

What the hell, BO was released in November! That's not even a year for a new one to be shat out. I mean, I'm still going to buy it, probably midnight of release day and I can barely restrain my glee right now. But it's still way too soon.

I thought we killed all the Russians the world had to offer in MW and MW2.

Its CoD, who else could possibly be the enemy?

I assume it will be the US government this time. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Yay. Get to see what happens to Soap and Price. Perhaps even some of the characters from Black Ops if the evidence is to be believed.
Not sure if I want a zombie mode in this game...who am I kidding? Of course I want a zombie mode. One that continues the Nazi zombie story.

If the multi-player has as much depth as Modern Warfare 2 and much more balance, the game will be a must-buy for my friends and I. Haters gonna hate. All the weapons in Black Ops felt very similar, and were just boring to use. The Killstreaks were not as fun to use either. And don't forget the awful maps and the terrible player models. I would really like a new Modern Warfare game, because Modern Warfare 2 has a lot of things to keep the multi-player alive. The amount of diversity in the weapons, perks, camos, challenges, titles and emblems made Modern Warfare 2 a long-lasting game with a lot of re-playability.

And MW2 was released the year before that, they do one every november, or 'CODvember' as I think Kotik wants us to call it from now on.

Yay, the wait since MW2 is over! Treyarch isn't known for their storylines, whereas Infinity Ward was the first group to so beautifully mesh story and action. I didn't, and I won't buy Black Ops.
IW, definately the IW that made MW2 don't exist any more. Technically IW are still involved in COD but as far as I can work out their now an empty shell that exist so that Actvision can put their logo, which carries a lot of... prestige, if you'll excuse the term, even in this day and age. The single player is being made by Sledgehammer games, who are mad up mostly of people who used to be in Visceral, so you can expect that to be highly polished but bland and soulless and the multiplayer is being made by Raven, so it is going to be completely boring. Either way, even if those two companies do pull it out of the bag and make the best game ever (which isn't going to happen) just know it wont be down to IW even slightly.

I'm not sure if I should be excited or not. I'm kind of tired of replacing my CoD game every year. I got bored really quickly with Black Ops, so unless Modern Warfare 3 brings something new to the table, then I'll probably skip this installment.

Different developer and all that.

There's usually a COD every year, I think this will be no different.

Here's what to expect...

- Shallow campaign mode with little character development and a lot of conspiracies and explosions that do absolutely nothing for the plot, aside with the campaign time being about a moderate 4-5hours on the toughest difficulty - Most of which will include a lot of dunking and shooting because of regenerating health.

- Ridiculously unbalanced multiplayer mode that is designed towards people who are easily entertained by a menial reward system. About 80% will of work will be thrown into this mode, but it won't take much thought considering that it's just copy and paste versions of the multiplayer mode since Call of Duty 4. It will be fun for maybe an hour or so before I see past its shallow design.

Here's what I want.

- A campaign mode that spans several hours with unlockables and other features that actually expand its replayablity without the need of a poorly designed multiplayer mode to be used as a crutch. A deeper and more engaging story that covers the background of the character that you're playing as so maybe we could try to develop an emotional bond with him or her(Like that would ever happen). I want the action to be suspenseful. I want it to grip me by the balls and scream in my face as I hold back waves of enemies from tearing my ass a new one.

- Rewards that can only be claimed from the singleplayer mode for use in multiplayer. Balanced maps and reasonable weapons with spawns that don't result in my being shot in the head instantly. Balanced perks and kill-steak rewards that doesn't hand a crapton of free kills to the opposition for merely camping the entire match. And for the love of god, I want that stupid trump card of a perk "Stopping Power" to be removed once and for all.

But this won't happen, never.

I misunderstood the OP. I thought the actual game was coming out next month.

I'm sure if they could get away with it, they'd try.

I'm betting its gonna go Freemium as well, I know they said they wouldn't charge a sub for COD, but there is no way that Activision will pass up an opportunity to milk the franchise dry.

I'll be able to test my theory that the games are actually getting more unbalanced as the series goes on. By my estimates the knife-kill will have its range doubled, and ignore solid objects completely. Killstreak rewards will begin after your first kill and sniper rifles will automatically fire if an enemy is between the crosshairs. The maps will include a single 50 metre corridor with a 90 degree bend in the middle, and the campaign will be a cell-shaded, 2d sidescroller so the dev. team could focus more on the multiplayer.

Sorry, I couldn't resist it, I liked MW and MW2, but just saw several things done worse in the sequel, which I listed and expanded to their logical extremities, because I am avoiding work.

Well...I'll continue to play the single player and not touch the multiplayer I suppose.

Mark my prophetic words, there WILL be a fee to premium multiplayer content. You'll likely get your map packs as part of that fee plus various skins and other little perks.

Count on it.

Oh,goodie. Another Call of Duty. Another game where the gameplay is as lopsided as a rough rock, and the story can be summed up as "US Army is better than you!"

Well...Although I do respect that the franchise has enough of a rabid fan following to be able to get away with so many sequels and turn a startling profit off of it,I do not respect the games at all. They suck like leeches when compared to other games, like Supreme Commander 1,The Legend of Dragoon, and Team Fortress 2.
