Thats cool and all i guess. But if you need a "new" 360 to handle natal, then im wondering what the upgrade pack is going to cost for an original 360 to run those games without forking over X amount of cash for the new version...As "the cheaper" of the hardcore next gen systems, just gets more expensive by the year...

I think its way too early, especially considering then Sony would have to release something more powerful than its' PS3 to compete, and since machines like that are only found at NASA...
Let me finish that line-then Sony is fucked.I've seen this coming since they lowered the price of the 360 last year, there opening up room on the market for their new system to completely destroy the PS3 and Wii.

After it's showing at E3 the rumor mills gonna be spinning at 100mph for some time now. Lets just put all the hype aside and see what/when/and how this actually works it's self out.

Fair enough. but first this new miracle machine needs something. Controller free motion responsive games that appease the oh so high standard of the 360's hardcore audience. Let me know how that works out for ya.

Dude, the damn thing has 512 mb SHARED memory and an old Nvidia GPU. Most high-end PCs would absoloutely rape the PS3 despite the fairly beastly processor it has. NASA my @$$

I sincerely doubt that. A more powerful machine than the PS3 means they will lose more money than Sony is with the PS3. A repackaged successor to the 360 means they will definitely see a spike in sales, but only time will tell if it's enough. Price will be a major issue for sure.

"We firmly believe that the Xbox 360 has a life cycle through 2015 (ten years after the launch)," he said. "Project Natal is a great innovation. It will work with every Xbox 360 sold." ~ Shane Kim MS VP
The 360 isn't going anywhere. Will MS redesign the 360 to conicide with Natal's launch? It really wouldn't surprise me, especially with the move to downloadable games and twitter etc I can easily see a redesigned 360 with a larger HD etc coming.

Wow! Wait a minute, I just got my 360 three years ago! I haven't even gotten a PS3 yet! Stop releasing consoles for a little while, I'm just getting settled into this generation!

I severely doubt this. There's not enough time to build up hype between then and now. After all, we had to deal with Wii teasers for how long before it even got an official name?

Please for the love of God let this be true. The current gen IMO is already dated graphically and new control inputs would be welcome on top of extra power.
you've got it all wrong, now that they can't improve the graphics, they should work on the gameplay for once.

I'm totally against this being released so soon.

Right cause it's a PC. And PC hardware releases monthly at this point with new vidcards about every quarter or so. So yea...That's why pc's can be opened and are meant to be upgraded and cost thousands of dollars for a high end one. You can't compare a pc to a console.

Your missing the point here. people buy consoles with a ten year lifespan so they don't have to upgrade a pc every 2 or so. Console games will always run for the entire life of that console. There are no system specs, no number crunching or ah crap goota go buy more ram b4 i can run this properly moments. There is also no overkill. IE wow fallout 3 sure runs way better then ur shitty 360 cause i have 8gigs of ram dual 9800gtx's, a liquid niotrogen cooling system, and a power core that runs on unicorn tears. Oh and btw my monitor costs just as much as your system LOL @ your 1080 resolution. Enough already. Console games will be sub par at launch and push the system to the brink in its final days. It's fair to say that consoles are the economic choice.

That's what I am saying,by the time it's 2012 we will have the XBOXEVOlution. It's ridicously, only harcore gamers will get all the systems when they come out and even then you enjoy them for 23 years before another one comes out and the rest of your systems mean nothing.

WHAAAAAAAAT? I thought Natal was that rectangular propped up box that looks as though it plugs into the 360... not and entirely new console.

There doesn't appear to be any solid evidence behind this rumour... I'm not worried...

A slight hardware upgrade? So this is basically like upgrading your PC. I know plenty of developers have been trying to bring PC gaming to the consoles, but this is a little ridiculous. That said, if it isn't too pricy (which will never happen), has enough extra perks other than better hardware (new OS/dashboard perhaps?), has backwards compatibility with things like controllers and hard drives (or at least a transfer kit like the 360 Elite), and is actually real, I might consider upgrading.

The PC market doesnt wait, why should the console cycle stay rigid?
As long as they don't go tossing the xbox 360 out the window, they could live with a co-existence much like the PS3 is with the PS2.

I think this is misinterpreted though... I think more than anything that perhaps a new VARIANT of the xbox 360 say, for example, a version with a 300 gb hard drive and full HD capability, smaller, and bundled with Natal.

Just like the PS3 slim is not a new PS3, just a newer variant model.

People honestly get excited over nonsense.
