freaking sweet, did not expect that, maybe some info about the exploits of the chosen one will be layed out in the game.
Guys do realize that's a fake teaser trailer and is recorded in Fallout: NV?

I'd like to see a prequel set in a time before the world exploded.
Actually, that's a fair point, and a little through the game you see the nuke? meh, might be hard to make, but if it did happen I would definitely preorder.

Maybe it's because I'm British, or maybe it's because I would like a change from the US (afterall, this affected the world pretty much), but Canada or the UK would be interesting. I think London would be a good setting, plenty of underground systems, a large river running through the city and decent landmarks (I said decent, not amazing!). Plus, it would give Bethesda to craft something a little different.

A nice idea I heard from a friend who is a fan was, because the UK didn't receive so much of a pounding from the nuclear weapons, it may actually be infested with more greenery as opposed to becoming a complete wasteland (although certain parts would theoretically still be). It would give the setting a bit more variety without destroying the IP's mood. I mean, constant wasteland is true to how it would be and all that in America, but gameplaywise it's a little boring.

I had the same gripe with Oblivion - it was almost all forests, only the cities had any real variety, the rest was just forest more or less and it got boring to treck across. Of course, Skyrim mixed it up a bit with some snow and plains as well as forests, it was just nicer to stroll across.

Some people seem to think LA would be a fun and original place to go... They did that already LA is the Boneyard. I think an NCR tropper even references the place he wanted some psycho. In fact, the Boneyard is where the Followers of the Apocalypse and the Gun Runners come from. So I kinda doubt they will be going back to LA.

As for the next game I just hope it has more wow factor than New Vegas did it just seemed like an expansion pack of Fallout3.

This needs to be in the game.
Maybe just one character has it as possible dialogue, or maybe just one random encounter... but it has to be in the game!

Whatever it is, I can't wait to see what it looks like on Skyrim's Creation engine.
I played some Fallout New Vegas yesterday and my God it's like it's aged a lot very quickly.

I wonder what a fallout game set in china would be like. It would make a good excursion from the apocalyptic wastes of America as China was nuked too and it would be cool to see how they are dealing in the aftermath.

Fallout will never, ever be set outside North America. And it shouldn't be. That's it's entire point, it's entire message, it's big-ass metaphor is North American culture as a whole sort of, it's difficult to explain.

But point is, the lore does mention places like Europe and the middle east, but it's a very bad story arch, it's very condensed, and not much is explained. The lore said that Europe formed one massive super-state to wage war against the middle east and north Africa. both sides were desolated to the extent of the nuclear holocaust in America but without the nukes. And then of course when the war kicked off, Europe might have well been nuked on top of the destruction from the resource war. But I can't remember if that is mentioned.

I kinda want the new fallout to stray from the beaten track, and be set in the Midwest or occupied Canada or something, just to shake things up.

I'd love the idea of a Fallout set in a place that perhaps wasn't completely destroyed by the war. Where you might see colors like green and places that basically reverted back to things like Native American tribes after a long nuclear winter. The bulk of the conflicts arises from different factions trying to settle the area.

I just feel like I've seen way too many open highway areas with broken signs to really care about a new one set in California again. Even New York I'm a bit on the fringe since to recreate it to any measure of scale would mean that 95% of the game would be broken urban areas again.

Ugh, New York? Waaay too overused in my opinion.

I'd like to see a game set around the time of the canceled Van Buren. I also agree with the above post (Furycrab). It'd be nice to see some grass here and there, instead of different shades of brown.

New Vegas used a ton of Van Buren's material. It improved it in some ways, I think (I like New Vegas' version of Joshua Graham more than the proposed version in Van Buren).

Still routing for outside the US, since the war was with the chinese in Fallout it would be nice to see one game set there, Beijing or Hong Kong.

It stands to be the only logical choice to me:-
Europe wont get a mention in this series,
The middle east has been done to death in shooters,
Russia has run out of men to spare after the last 3 CoD games,
Asia doesnt get mentioned that much, but could be an interesting premise,
South America would just become FarCry, dense jungles + dense glitching......no thanks,
Africa looks like its been nuked already, so it would just be Resident Evil 5 but first person.
Well now... You have just showed everyone that you know precisely NOTHING about fallout. Good work.
Well, I dont know anything about Fallout outside of number 3...................just letting everyone know that your spot on there. But it is always nice to receive praise.

Well that explains it [sub]fucking Fallout 3, bethesda bastards[/sub]
In every fallout game (besides 3 and tactics) there is a huge emphasis on parody of 1950s and current american consumerism and idealisation. Fallout is literally just a massive satire of american culture. A post-apocalyptic game outside the US with a lore similar to fallout, but using another culture as a backdrop for the black humour is a great idea, don't get me wrong, but it wouldn't be fallout. I mean, fallout 3 has as little to do with fallout as I thought possible...
I thought the parody of the 1950's was quite good in 3, but as I said it was my only venture into the series on PC. Maybe most people won't complain too much about it being set in a different culture as 3 seems to be the one everyone played and it could be transferable.

Or, perhaps a re-vamp or HD release of the fisrt two Fallout games could be a way to generate more interest and entice people to play what I've heard to be very good games. I know its worked with me and other series'.

Outside the US would not work for a Fallout game. So much of it's quirkiness and atmosphere is based around that 1950's Americana aesthetic and cold war vibe. It just wouldn't work in China or Germany and still maintain that dark humor and flavor. The absurdity is often tied to the kitshy American time period.

New York would be good, and spectacular to see. But at this point it is probably overdone in every single future or post apoc game. There would be some other interesting options. Fallout New Orleans would be cool. Or Fallout Orlando (the happiest place on earth!). or something really bleak. Like Detroit. (saves on art costs. Just render from life and paint in a green sky. Instant after the bomb landscape).

If you want to go to New York, I would suggest going further up and into New England. Just someplace where you can play more with the flavor of the locale.

Depending on how much you view FO3 as continuity, you the player may have sorta kinda vaporized Canada in the Mothership Zeta DLC.

oopsie!
