I feel like that is somewhat out of place being on a gamer site and most gamers being fat bastards (be honest). But as always,i'm curious.Soooooo who here runs? Why do you run? how far? how fast? how often? I run about 21 miles a week at around a high 8,low 9 min per mile pace. My max per mile is somewhere in the high 7s. And i run, well because I'm vain and like the way it make my body look. That and i used to be fat. Oh and whats your running music. For me its Iron maiden,Dragon force and early metallica with a sprinkling of rap and classic rock. How answer my damned questions.

I don't run... but I might sprint if someone's brought some cakes into work :D

Should really do some more exercise. I'm not uber fat, but fatter than I should be lol. Think I've lost a little recently... if it stays sunny I can do some gardening for exercise ¬¬. Garden can certainly do with it!

I want to run but I can never get into it.
Incidentially, most gamers are certainly not fat bastards.

I mostly lift weights and train my body in a different way, though I think if I did run, or actually had an iPod to take into the gym with me, I'd listen to stuff like this. Oh, and having only been doing it for a few months, I'm lifting roughly 35 kilograms most of the time, but if I'm only using my arms then it's more 10 - 15.

Or the US Marine version with all the guitars, I dunno.
Sounds motivational.

I don't run right now, because the sidewalks and fields are too icy/snowy thanks to the 15cm of snow we got a few days ago. >_>

When I run...I actually don't know how fast I am. I play soccer, and do all my running on the field. I rarely, if ever, actually go jogging, as I need some sort of goal to chase. Otherwise, I get bored.

Fitness during soccer season though usually lasts about 30-45 minutes, and it's far more intense than just going jogging. So take that for whatever it's worth. XD

I try to run at least 5 days a week. Mon-Thur & Sat. I will be running in a couple hours when I'm off work..

I run for about 20-25 minutes... have been doing it since June last year and I've lost about 15 pounds while not sticking to some lame, restrictive diet. I'm down to 180 lbs now (w00t). It's a great way not to feel like a fat ass.. especially being a gamer & having an office job.

I could lose a lot more weight faster if I stopped drinking so much... but hey, screw that.

I listen to various old school rock/metal.. NIN/Tool/Deftones. Some Static-X really gets the blood flowin.

I'm starting out running again this spring ^^ I plan on running a 10kilometers, and eventually climb up to 21 kilometers. That would be a 13 miler in your barbaric imperial system XD

I run because I like to stay in shape. And because I basically live on a beach and can do it there, where it's pure bliss to run. I also always feel fantastic the rest of the day after I run. It's the highlight of my day (well...unless I do something really cool).

I'm prone to getting plantar fasciitis, though. So I don't go usually go over four miles and I take a day off after three days of running.

Oh...and my running music. It's typically upbeat. Never is it an album I'm not familiar with. LCD Soundsystem is probably the most played band that I run to.

I run! I'm on the track team at my high school and (recently at least) have been running around 20-30 miles a week. Later in the season once I am more in shape though I will be running 40-50 per week.

I run because I enjoy getting physical activity of some sort and I am not coordinated enough for any other sports. Plus, I hate relying on other people when doing sports, which I would need to do with anything else.

Also, the people on the XC and Track teams are all a hell of a lot of fun to hang out with :D

I'm glad to see some other runners on The Escapist.

Edit: I forgot to mention music. I don't listen to music because I never really run alone, and it makes it harder to pay attention to what is going on around me.

Cross Country or two years in the hottest state in the US. We used to do about 30ish miles a week.

I still do about three times a week just because it is a good exercise and keeps me fresh. Seriously, American football and Euro Football are nothing compared to what cross country runners do. Lots of people end up quitting

Yeah, I run twice a week, and engage in whatever (often running-related) activity the MS3s and 4s have dreamed up for PT twice a week.

Can't say that I have any "running music", as I don't run with my IPhone. Doesn't mean I don't often have some kind of little tune bumping around in my head.

Heh. My captcha seems like it should be some kind of war cry: "For escrod"

"Charge! No retreat, no surrender! For glory! And for your homeland... For Escrod!"

I do a bit.
Not for very long but I like to get in a run a few times a week.
Did about 8 miles today which is the most I've done all week.
Not continuously, mind you but in total.

I prefer other forms of exercise though, to be honest.
Yoga, hiking or just even walking I enjoy.
I like being zen in my workout regime ;P

Oh and as for music, really anything upbeat and fast for running.
Usually something like Maximum the Hormone, Ima Robot, Devin Townsend, Nine Inch Nails or some other random thing my shuffle likes to play.

I'm more of a sprinter, I can run faster than anyone I know. I'm not exactly fat either, I'm 140 lbs (~63 kgs) and 5'10" (~177 cms). I'm not really a distance runner but my best time for 1 mile is 6 minutes, 53 seconds. The farthest I ran without stopping is roughly 4 miles. I should also state than I'm sort of an amateur Traceur (I do some Parkour) so I mix running with climbing and jumping.

I used to do track. I was a sprinter. Now I play soccer, constantly touted as "The Fast Kid".

I can run longer than most people, but I'm usually sprinting all the time in soccer, and my Cardio is lacking.

5'9, 156 pounds, if anyone was wondering

At one point I was running 6 days per week to train. Now I just run a few days a week, but at a fairly fast pace (probably 4 minutes per km) and about 5 km, which is slow compared to what I used to be able to do. I don't play music when I run. And I don't think that most gamers are fatter than other groups of people...

I don't run, I have asthma and I am generally unfit so I can't last more than 10minutes.

If I did run though my music would be Alestorm, Clutch and Voltaire.

Although that would probably change as the weeks go on:p
