Dillon considered it for a moment. On one hand, he had never been the type of person who enjoyed parties - in fact, he had never gone to many parties at all - but on the other, it would be a good chance to get to know more people better. He didn't want his time at this school to be just as lonely as his childhood had been - after all, he was finally around people who were just as different as he was. In the end, he decided it might be fun. He didn't want to disappoint Carolina anyway, especially since he felt bad for making her feel so uncomfortable earlier.
"Yeah, sure. Sounds good." he said, smiling warmly at her. "It beats spending another sleepless night in the dorm."

Nathan nodded at Jon

"Yeah...you could say that"

Shrugging his shoulders a bit, he patted Jon on the shoulder

"So? What'd I miss?"

 

[CounterAttack]

Rochelle said, "Yeah... yeah, that would be good." As she spoke, something flooded through her mind, easing the headache, but not removing it completely. She shuddered and looked up. "Did you feel that?" she asked Sven, still in a little pain.

Sven saw somebody from the crowd touch Rochelle's shoulder; he couldn't immediately recognize the guy, but thought he looked familiar. The next moment Rochelle seemed just fine and asked if he felt anything. "I didn't feel anything. Why, what happened? You feeling OK?"

"Give her some breathing room," Lillith had come back to see what was keeping them still, "She just needs a bit of air, maybe a lie down, and she'll be fine."

 

[CounterAttack]

"I don't know," Rochelle said. "All of a sudden I just... felt different, like someone's changing how I feel..." Then the realization hit her, and she let out a small gasp.

"Jon. Of course. Faeries can alter anyone's perception and thoughts. I'll need to talk to him about that. Maybe later, though. Lillith's got the right idea. I think I'll go and lie down for a while, take a break." She stood up carefully and ran a hand through her silver hair, which glinted as the hall's lights reflected off it.

Sven had to think for a few seconds. Jon? I haven't heard that name... wait, was that the guy who was with Rochelle last night? Of course! It would make sense he'd want to help his friend if he could. I just hope Lillith didn't spot him and realize he was spying on her last night.

"Fair enough. I need to head back to the room to get my map anyways." Sven said as he made his way down the stairs and out of the meeting hall.

Rochelle followed Sven without looking where she was going, thinking hard as she walked.

I need to speak to Jon the next time I see him. He can't just go round messing with my mind, especially if I can't resist against his power. And now Sven might suspect something. Which reminds me... Sven's a good guy; he's kind, helpful, somewhat good-looking... Sweet Mother of Angels...

Rochelle's eyes widened in another realization. This time there was an element of shock to it. I guess it started with that kiss on the cheek, then the dream... I didn't think it would be this fast! I'm staring to think I'm attracted to Sven! ... No. Give it time, Rochelle. Wait until you can be sure what you feel is real. It doesn't mean anything if he's your room-mate. Just because you share a dorm doesn't mean that there's no-one else out there for you. Just get back to your room for now.

She blinked, snapped out of her state and hurried after Sven, pushing through the crowds.

 

[Agent Larkin]

'A party? Oh joy' Alex thought. 'It means the school will be mostly empty and I get to go snooping around.'

He stood up and walked out his eyes going straight to his book. He didn't even notice as he walked into two people while walking off.

"Jon. Of course. Faeries can alter anyone's perception and thoughts."

Alter... thoughts...? And she saw that Faerie yesterday...

She froze on the spot and her eyes turned big as the magnitude of what she had just heard slowly dawned on her. He could know anything about her! Jon could know about Archi, about the murder, about Mister Blue and Miss Red, about her entire journey here!

Alter... perceptions...

She'd been with Archi that night, the faerie had been there, but again her mind refused to believe what it had just been told. It was the faerie she had been sitting with, he had been preying upon her mind, using his magic to trick her and deceive her... He wanted to get the story straight from the Lamia's mouth and he had the audacity to use Archi as his bait!

Her breathing grew laboured, each moment she felt as though she was about to pass out from the cocktail of shock, anger, rage and betrayal that she was currently feeling.

She looked around, spying the faerie just outside the crowd, talking to the skeleton she recognised as Nathan. No. You're not invading anyone's minds... Not anymore faerie-boy. She pushed her way passed Rochelle and Sven, going directly for Jon.

As she got closer and closer, she started to emit a growl from her throat.

Sven tried to hurry back to the room, but couldn't move too fast through the crowd. He noticed the Lamia quickly gaining speed, moving through the crowd, as if she was on a mission of some kind. As she passed him, Sven turned towards her, about to tell her to wait up, but changed his mind as he opened his mouth.

Uh oh. Sven noticed a look on Lillith's face he knew all too well: rage. I guess she figured out that other guy spied on her last night. This could end badly. Better make sure it doesn't. He turned to Rochelle and waited for her to catch up before asking in a hushed voice, "Do you know where I could find that faerie friend of yours?"

Max stood up slowly and stretched, a crack resounding across the hallways as his spine straightened. He rubbed both his eyes with his hands and twisted his neck, earning a crunch.

"Jeezum crow. That smarts!" he laughed, patting Sam on the back.

"Thanks for checking on me dude, I'm not feeling right at all. Gotta head back to the dorm and catch some z's before my little chit-chat with Pilate tonight. Remember, party tomorrow. Things will get messy!"

He trotted at a quickened pace up the stairs to his floor. He opened the door to his room, slid inside and fell to the bed. He was asleep before the dust from the matress settled.

 

[CounterAttack]

"Jon? No. He might be around somewhere, though." Rochelle looked around nervously, then she heard a growl close by. Confused, she scanned nearby faces, and spotted Lillith. Her face was twisted into an expression Rochelle didn't recognize, and she seemed to be the one doing the growling.

Down the corridor, Rochelle spotted Jon talking to the lich, Nathan. Evidently Lillith had too, as she was staring at him, her growl getting louder...

"Come on!" Rochelle yelled to Sven as she hurried towards the moving Lillith. The Lamia looked, strangely enough, like she was about to attack Jon...

Sven heard the lamia's growling and realized she probably spotted Jon. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to find the faerie in this crowd. Moving as quickly as the crowd would allow him to move, he managed to catch up to Lillith before she reached him. "Woah, calm down for a minute," he said, trying to put himself in the lamia's path while searching for the faerie.

I have a feeling we might not be skipping ahead quite yet. Maybe at the end of IC today.

Her eyes were fixed on Jon, but she could feel as a hand grabbed her arm and started pulling. Sven pulled her around and stood in her way, not letting her reach Jon just yet.

"Woah, calm down for a minute," the werewolf stepped around to stop her from moving passed him.

"And why should I!?" She was almost shouting her words at him, "He deserves what's coming to him! Digging through people's heads and messing with their feelings... You know as well as I do that's not right and I'm not going to let him keep getting away with it!"

"You're right; he can't keep reaching into people's minds and expect to get away with it. But honestly, what are you hoping to accomplish by attacking him? Best case scenario, you get in a couple of attacks, but unless you kill him, he's just going to screw with your mind and run away. And then he's going to keep screwing with your mind because that's the only way he's going to feel safe whenever you're around."

Sven then turned towards where the lamia was heading and, upon spotting Jon speaking to Nathan, said, "Now I'm going to have a few words with him." With that, he approached the faerie and lich.

Noticing the commotion with Lilith, and seeing Sven walking towards them, Nathan nodded to the werewolf

"Hello Sven, coming to speak to Jon here?"

He asked as he motioned to the faerie standing beside him

You may also want to consider the fact that attacking another student in rage, especially when you are a monster and he is... Well, a very fragile sort of monster, you run into a very realistic risk of actually causing some serious damage to him.
