A vampire attack? It made sense. The symptoms would be the same as dreaming a Lamia attack, with both feeding upon humanoids for sustenance, and it would explain her reaction to the vampire last night.

But she had no idea if it was safe to wake someone from one of those dreams. On the one hand, it was just a dream, and anything happening in the dream was a figment of Rochelle's imagination. But on the other, Rochelle was obviously in pain, and leaving her in pain wasn't something that Lillith would be willing to do.

"W-we wake her... Gently. We don't want to shock her or anything..."

Dillon was stirred from his daydreaming by Carolina's voice calling through his door. He hopped up and hurried over to open it, finding her standing at the other side. "Uh, sure yeah. If you don't mind, that is."
A slightly-embarrassed smile crept across his face. "I can't really cook that well myself. In fact, all I'm really good for is making toast."

Rochelle's whole body started shaking, a thin layer of sweat building on her forehead. The amethyst finished its work, and appeared to be completely covered in cracks and fault-lines.

---

Paralyzed by terror, she could do nothing but watch as the vampire knelt before her and bent down to her throat. As he brushed his lips across the marks of the first bite, she tried to squirm away from him.

"Ressisstance iss pointlesss, my angel," he said as he grabbed her by her hair and forced her throat closer to him.

No time for the gently, gently approach! Wake her up now! She panicked, unsure of what to do. Everything's going too fast! What do I do?!

She reverted to the only thing she thought could work. She grabbed Rochelle and started to shake her violently, blindly hoping that the interaction would garner at least some response. "'Chelle! Rochelle!"

"Jesus Christ, woman, you're gonna give her whiplash!" Sven said as he broke Rochelle from Lillith's grasp. He looked around for something else to wake her up with and saw he hadn't gotten rid of the bottle the rum had formerly been in. Thank God for procrastination, Sven thought as he rushed over to the sink and filled it up about 3/4ths of the way with cold water. He went back to Rochelle and dumped the entire contents of the bottle onto the still-sleeping angel.

Rochelle instantly woke as soon as the water hit her face. She sat bolt upright and clapped her hands to her forehead, dropping the amethyst.

"Mother of Angels... my head..." she groaned as she wiped the water from her eyes. She looked up and saw Lillith, looking slightly ashamed of herself, and Sven holding the empty bottle of rum. Confused, she asked, "Huh? Wha's going on?"

"You've about as much idea as we do," Lillith admitted. "One second you were fine, the next you were spasming and sweating like mad..."

She shrugged and retreated a bit, sitting on the bed opposite Rochelle. "A bad dream, maybe?"

"Yeah... yeah, that was it," Rochelle murmured. "I guess you deserve to know, if you haven't figured it out already. I was attacked by a vampire about a month before I came here. He didn't get the chance to... to finish me, but he got a taste of my blood." She indicated the marks.

"I still get nightmares, exact recollections of that night in perfect detail. Every few nights, I see those red eyes, the vicious fangs..." She trailed off, looked down at herself and turned to one of her suitcases. "I should probably get these wet clothes off. Excuse me a moment." She pulled out a complete change of clothes, blushing slightly in Sven's presence, and ducked into the bathroom to undress.

Lillith sat quietly as she waited for Rochelle to return. She was glad that Rochelle trusted her enough now to reveal this. It made things easier on everyone if they weren't keeping secrets from one another. Even though Lillith still was...

She ignored this and thought about talking to Sven instead, but found no words to speak with. Sven didn't look to be doing much or noticing much, as though everything that was happening was passing right by him.

And then she thought of something she could say. She slithered over to him, pulling softly on his arm to attract his attention. "You feeling alright, Sven? You look... out of it."

Carolina smiled back at Dillon, ?I don?t mind at all. I hope you?re okay with a concoction of things, I have no idea what?s in the kitchen to work with, ?she explained walking back to the kitchenette. She looked through the cabinets, which had some supplies but not enough to last them a long time. There was an unopened box of noodles that caught her eye hiding behind a half bottle of soy sauce. She took out a pot, humming softly to herself as she filled it with water and noodles, placing it on the stove. ?It?s no seven course meal but with some spices I think I can make it work,? she mused quietly as she raked through the spice rack, pulling out bottles here and there. ?Oh! Do you think I could take a peak at your sketches now? I?d love to see them, I?m kind of an art nerd,? she said laughing as she continued working.

As Rochelle ducked into the bathroom, Sven's thoughts turned to his own attack. I know it was over nine months ago, but... The last time Sven heard anything, Joshua still hasn't regained consciousness for longer than five minutes. He didn't know anything about anyone else, but he couldn't help but wonder if any of them were like Rochelle, reliving that one experience every time they close their eyes. Or worse, what if I turned one of them?

He suddenly felt Lillith pulling on his arm, asking him, "You feeling alright, Sven? You look... out of it."

"Uh, yeah, I'm fine, I just... just thinking, that's all."

'Just thinking?' No-one was ever 'just thinking.' They were like her. They were always looking into the past, regretting their choices and the paths they went down, wondering if things could have gone better.

They probably could have done, in many cases. But maybe it isn't what mistakes you made, but how you dealt with them, that mattered. Wait... That's actually really good. Why didn't I think of that earlier? Things would have started off so much better for her if she would have been following that advice earlier.

She slithered around to look at his face directly and smiled warmly, trying to make him feel a bit less apprehensive. "Feel like sharing?"

"Uh, yeah sure. Hang on." Dillon said as he turned to go back to his room. "I'll show you some of the old stuff - most of the drawings in my new sketchbook aren't finished yet."
He went into his room and unzipped one of the bags that were still lying at the end of his bed. It was revealed to be full to the brim with sketchbooks of various sizes and colours. He rooted around and pulled out one with a faded purple cover. Flicking through it to make sure it was the right one as he walked, he ended up back in the kitchenette.
"Here you go. Go easy on me." he said with a slight laugh, holding it out to Carolina.

It's up to you what's in it. I don't mind. :D

Rochelle changed into a black long-sleeved shirt and white skirt, and shoved her wet clothes into a plastic bag. As she did so, the pain in her head increased due to the after-effects of all the alcohol she'd consumed. She re-entered the main room, one hand on her forehead, and unceremoniously threw the bag into a corner with her other hand.

"I'll send that lot down for washing later, but right now, I've got a massive headache." She sat down on the end of her bed.

Sven didn't want to say anything else to the lamia, but he couldn't bring himself to just tell her off. Something about the lamia just dropped his guard, though he couldn't quite put his finger on what or why. Still, he didn't quite feel comfortable sharing with Lillith just yet. "Maybe later." Before Lillith could press him further, Rochelle came into the room and sat down on the other end of the bed, complaining about a headache. "That must be one hell of a hangover you're having. You need anything?"

"I don't know anything about hangovers, but a glass of water would be good," Rochelle said, hoping to draw Sven's attention away from Lillith and onto herself until Lillith was gone. "Do either of you know any miracle cures?" she asked them both with a weak smile.

"I don't know anything about hangovers myself, though I've heard asprin helps. Too bad I don't have any," Sven said as he went to the sink. "As for magic, well, I'm the wrong person to ask." Sven thought about asking the vampire if he knew anything, but he didn't want to impose on him any more than he already had or let Rochelle know he was in the room while she was out. Maybe Ed or the centaur know something. He dropped a couple of ice cubes into a glass, filled it almost to the top with water and handed the glass to Rochelle.

"Thanks," Rochelle said as she raised the glass. She took a few mouthfuls of water and shivered a little at its temperature. "Aah, that's good," she murmured before she drank again. In a few large gulps, she finished the glass and got up to refill it.

As the glass filled, she remembered something. "I felt something small in my hand when I woke up. What was it?" She looked around. "I don't see anything unfamiliar..."

Nathan made his way back into the dorms. It had been an interesting talk with the Sam, he obviously assumed more about Nathans Contract than he actually knew.

It was a shame really, he probably would have gotten a better deal with the Devil...

"Hey Nate!"

The blonde haired boy dropped from one of the upper balconies and landed beside the lich, a folder in his hand

"Here's everything you'll need to know to find your target. Once you do this, the boss agrees it'll be all even for another twenty years"

Snatching the papers from the boys hand, Nathan slipped the folder under his arm

"I'm sure it will be an enjoyable read"

He muttered, and headed back towards his room

"Er... Oh." Lillith looked around near the bed and picked up what was left of the amethyst. It was crumbling to pieces so she had to lap up a small amount of amethyst dust into her palm, resting the cracked jewel in the centre. If it hadn't been used already it might have made a fairly good enchanted necklace. But now it was scarred, broken and falling to pieces.

She'd actually grown a bit interested in the little jewel now, so she figured that she could put it back together to see how it was before. If she could, and was right about the gem, she could get a nice souvenir out of it.

She was going to explain what it was, making sure to skip over the 'we got it from a vampire' bit, but she'd gotten lost in just looking at it. I bet it'd go well with a black top. Maybe embed it on a silver necklace.

Sven nudged her, bringing her focus back to Rochelle. "Oh! Sorry. I was admiring it. I think it might have been working as a magical hangover cure before it broke. I don't think it was working too well though..."
