Don't be ridiculous, Rudy the Undead Hound is so real!
Wil Wheaton's bullshitting abilities are so impressive that it actually formed and brought life to Rudy here in the real world.

I babysat about two weeks ago and a character died in the movie we were watching. One of the little girls turned to me and asked, "Does everybody die?".

"Um, yeah." I replied, a bit uncomfortable. She looked thoughtful for a few seconds, and the asked, "Even Santa?"

O.O

My answer was eventually: "He's magical, so he doesn't count." but I'm pretty sure she saw me panicking.

I believe in alternate timelines/dimensions/universes/etc., and therefore I believe that there is a highly probable chance that Santa exists in at least one of those alternate zones.

Crap... I had better break it to my parents. I always wondered why I got no presents. They believed in him too!

Yup, thought I'd just ruin it for some of you believers, yup, he doesn't exist, you've been lied to, it's one big money making scheme to swindle you of your precious cash.

Apart from that, when did you find out Santa didn't exist and what sort of spin on the theme did your parents give to you to ensure you believed it as long as you did? :)

I was always baffled as to how he came down our chimney...we didn't have one :/
My parents said he could magic himself through doors or something. Also: Santa is a scheme to swindle your parents out of money. They're the ones buying things and saying they're from Santa.

Anyway: once I figured out Santa isn't real it wasn't a significant change. I really can't remember how I reacted. I think the realization kind of just came to me through logic. I mean if magic isn't real than Santa can't be either.

Well thats because he uses your front doors.
Duh!
But you are right about how one man cannot travel all around the world in a single night and deliver to every single house (3 billion people).

Oh, btw, my tooth fairy was apparently richer than most peoples, she gave me £5 notes for each tooth, I couldn't even get my own parents to give me pocket money like other kids so I think my tooth fairy understood. It got to the point where I started making a business out of it, pay £1 for someone elses tooth, put it under my pillow, get £4 profit :D

well unless your completely retarded, santa (a.k.a. st. Nicholas ), whether or not you believe he is a saint is w/e, but he was real and he did deliver gifts to the children for however long, in which, he, personally, started a tradition. nice try, atheist angsty troll, its always cool to put down ideals shared by the majority of the planet.

Yeah, not to be rude but that OP stinks of trolling. I believed in Santa when I was young and didn't understand things as well as I do (and still believed in magic QQ) but put two and two together and figured it out. I remember not being that upset though.

:) Erm, yeah, I was joking. 95% of people in the thread kind of figured that out, lol.

I have no anger towards Santa, yeah, he's a bit of a pervert towards the yummy mummies when he clearly has a wife, but all in all, its a bit of fun and keeps the spirit of christmas alive for young children, why would I be against that? Unless I had a heart of stone :)

Santa wasn't always a corporate puppet for marketing, he used to be a symbolic being of peace and joy and giving to other in the name of good. And throughout history many people have come close to being a Santa like being. Im just saying.

I found out ..... six years ago i think, i kinda always figured he didn't but i like to keep the idea alive. Though the year i did find out he didn't exist is also the year my dog at 10 chocolate penguins, she was perfectly fine in the morning.

i don't think santa is a money grubbing scheme
i always thought he represented good will , kindliness and giving
the entire point of christmas or something , i get all my knowledge about
him from disney so i'm probably way off course
That's just what they want you to think. It's all just one big conspiracy so that they can read your thoughts and assume control.

Also, the Easter Bunny works for Hitler.

I don't think anyone ever really lied to me to tell me Santa was real. I always knew any gifts I got from 'Santa' were just things my family got me. That said, I liked pretending Santa was real, the same way I liked to imagine that my toys were alive, even though I obviously knew they weren't, but I think I knew pretty early. I definitely knew by age six, at least. Can't remember Christmases any earlier than that.
