It has nothing to do with her being a Republican, and a lot to with her being a flaming idiot. The gaffes and slips and "mis-representations" and "mis-statements" just keep piling up, and each one makes it harder and harder to simply dismiss them, especially when viewed less as several isolated incidents and more as an ongoing trend.Skullkid4187 said:

As much as I dislike Sarah Palin and would never vote for her, this seems pretty unimportant. So what? She said North instead of South. Big freaking deal! I'm sure everyone here has NEVER misspoken.

To her supporters, making up justifying excuses for her behavior is almost a job in itself.
