Good god, I'm not convinced that woman isn't some form of mentally challenegd.
If she gets elected in 2012 I may consider moving.

If she gets elected, I'm not going to talk to any of the Americans on this site for her entire term.

I'd be better off talking to a wall.

Still, she has a masters degree in Political Science. I can't blame her being a politician dealing with many issues at once, to confuse South and North Korea. Thou its kinda weird how much money she has, power, and fame and yet people still talk down to her, just cause shes a Republican, seriously any other party people would be praising her.
It has nothing to do with her being a Republican, and a lot to with her being a flaming idiot. The gaffes and slips and "mis-representations" and "mis-statements" just keep piling up, and each one makes it harder and harder to simply dismiss them, especially when viewed less as several isolated incidents and more as an ongoing trend.

She's got a winning personality, sure, but she's daft as a brick and prone to speaking before thinking, and that has zero to do with her political standing. But it certainly has a very large bearing on someone who (unfortunately) stands a good chance of scoring a position with great deal of power and prestige, where a few less-than-choice words can spark an international incident...

ed- don't get me wrong, all politicians and practically anyone constantly scrutinized under a spotlight make these kinds of errors, but Palin does it with a stunning regularity.

Man, every time Palin opens her mouth I can't help but laugh.
Gotta love the Moose Queen and her public antics.

They talk down to her because of things like this. If she was a democrat the situation would be the same.

Wait, she doesn't know that Africa is a continent? (It says so at the end of the article)

.>

I'll just leave this here...

Oh, and it's pretty obvious (at least to me) that she just misspoke. It happens to everyone, get over it.

As much as I dislike Sarah Palin and would never vote for her, this seems pretty unimportant. So what? She said North instead of South. Big freaking deal! I'm sure everyone here has NEVER misspoken.

Did she admit the gaffe immediately? If so, it was only a slip of the tongue. I've said stupider things myself.

Does anyone else think that she must be a democratic agent, sent in to infiltrate and lose the republican party cred with all her mistakes. McCain could have won if not for her. I think she is trying her best to force the stupid out of the party, inevitably making it smaller and less powerful

I don't see how you can make up an justified excuse for this. Sure we are all humans but someone who is running/plans to become president of a country born on Capitalism should at least know where their friggin' Communism counterparts are.

Seriously, it seems geography classes in USA suck, generalization and assumption of course. ;)
To her supporters, making up justifying excuses for her behavior is almost a job in itself. Most just take the easy way out and say "You know... media and such", but some put their all into it.

EDIT: I just remembered the Tea Party code-word used to justify her daughter's continued presence on television: "classy". Ho boy, conservative women are firecrackers. I about had a laughing fit the first time I realized that was the new vocab-word-of-the-month.
