I was reading the news as I do every day at work, and was surprised when I saw an article about the group SOS Mata Atlantica who's made a brand new commercial wich encourage you to pee in the shower.
When I was younger I always got it comming if I even tried to do that sort of things in a shower that everyone uses. But now even young kids, monsters, serial killers and the likes are told to pee in the shower just like that.
The main idea with this is that you save 4380 liters of water by flushing one time less a day, and this will contribute to save the atlantic forest Mata Atlantica.
So my questions that I'd like to discuss are these, is it worth it? Would you do it? As an parent, what would you think about this commercial and your kids taking a leak in your shower?
And last, have you seen more commercials like this that encourage you to do strange things?

Edit: So I see alot of you let it go in the shower, or in the yard... while your neighbours are watching. And there's nothing wrong with that, you're not alone.
But this makes me wonder, if so many just let it go in the shower.. then what about the public showers at the public bath. How many do you think have squirtet a little yellow liquid of love in there, or in any other public area?

I never heard of this commercial, but I wizz in the shower anyway. The water's all going the same way anyway. Even if you accidentally hit your leg or allow it to pool around your feet, who cares? YOU'RE SHOWERING. You'll be clean when you get out anyway.

Whenever I step in the shower, I often need to go, but I'm too lazy to step out of the shower, get the floor wet, and go to the conventional toilet. What's the point?

Just don't urinate while you're in the bath. That has an entirely different effect.

I am 10 steps ahead of you. Not only do I pee in the shower already (and have been doing so since I was 14-15, being 19 now), if I am ever hyperhydrated (over hydrated) I don't flush the toilet when I pee(flushing the toilet every 30-45 minutes always seemed wasteful to me). My urine is bleach white so nobody notices :D. Also I pee outside every once in a while.

If you're peeing in the shower while taking a shower, then you're still using up water. If you truly wish to conserve water, you should wash yourself with a soaked sponge instead. Another water-saving technique you could try is placing items in the tank of your toilet, like a couple of liter bottles. The more you fill your tank with, the less water you use per flush. Who knew your stash you've been hiding from your parents/ the cops has been helping to save the planet. Just be warned, the less water used during a flush increases the chance of your excrements not being pushed away through the system.

Personally I can't go without my showers, and I like big flushes (they sound kewl!) So to do my part, I try to always pee outside. Not only does it save on flushes, but it helps water my neighbor's garden.

Pee at the start of the shower not toward the end it will be less smelly. Do not pee if you are showering with a girl. Despite what she let you do to her drunken body the night before, she will not appreciate you "marking your territory"

I actually work in a bath showroom, and the in thing is Eco buttons, basically all faucets and showers only turn on to 45% pressure, until you force them open to get 100% water in times of urgent showering.

Also you can buy grey water recyclers, they take your shower and bath water and stores it for later use to flush your toilet with.

Also don't leave the water running while you brush your teeth, if you have a combination boiler that spits out 12 litres of water a minute you'll be wasting on average 36 litres for the dentists approved 3 minutes of cleanliness.

For some reason every time I think about doing it something tells me no. Now I'm probably going to do it the next time I shower.

I have housemates, incidentally this also solves the pee on the toilet seat problem some people have

I don't know how you pee in the shower but I do it when I am doing other things like rinsing my hair so it doesn't use more water. And if we were serious about saving water then we would shave all of our heads or not shower. But that won't happen because of us rebellious teens and our long hair (damn hippies >.<).
